I was worried by the reviews but everywhere else was booked. We had a quiet stay and our room was cheap clean and comfortable. Staff were kind and helpful. No complaints at all for the price and hotel class. The outside looks seedy and the neighborhood is college housing so don’t expect it to be fancy, but the courtyard by Marriott is literally next door and the holiday inn express is across the street so you aren’t really getting a better neighborhood for tHeir more expensive rooms.

Honestly I was super nervous about staying here. A hotel without an elevator might well be camping to me. However, it was inexpensive for our one night stay and a short über away from our prime location of downtown. I was pleasantly surprised! We got a 2 queen bed room and it was huge. Even if we had 4 people it wouldn’t have been terrible with plenty of mirror space for 4 ladies to do hair and makeup. The room was clean. The ice machine was close by. It was overly noisy at night. We attempting to walk downtown our first go around and we made it but not with breaking a sweat in 40 degree weather. Don’t attempt it! We also didn’t have any of the complimentary breakfast so no input there.

This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed. When we pulled up, the outside looked a little run down but had some potential. Then we got inside the room… first thing I thought after a long trip was«I need a shower». But alas, there was no shower curtain causing water to fill up the bathroom. Then I looked over to the toilet which had what appeared to be pubic hair on the seat. Not a good sign regarding the cleanliness of this hotel. All in all– I will never stay here again.

Had to stay overnight in Athens and my first choices were booked. At $ 70 bucks for the night close to downtown Athens this wasn’t that bad of an option. I didn’t spend much time in the room other than the usual go out and then come back to sleep and shower. The room was mostly clean and tidy. Linens were well stocked and ample. The bedding was decent. Not a sleep number by any means, but I wasn’t jabbed by a spring all night either. A/C unit thank god wasn’t too annoying. For cheaper hotels they usually have heavy traffic and wear and tear on the carpets and appliances. They had evidence of that, but they seemed to service and maintain things well. For a cheaper chain hotel they seem to put a decent effort in. The lobby area is clean and well staffed. Desk clerks were friendly and helpful when needed. For a cheap, quick place to stay in Athens it wasn’t a bad option. Nice pool, friendly staff and a great location for being close to town on a budget.

Notice: my review applies to the handicapped accessible rooms of this hotel. Some comments may not apply to the standard rooms. Came here with my mother for a game weekend. First off, this place is expensive on game weekends, but everything in Athens is. But its close to downtown and the campus. Kind of weird location to get to, but you won’t have to drive too much to get to everything. Its one of the few places that doesn’t require a two night stay, so its more flexible. It is also amazingly quiet. We didn’t hear a peep out of anything. Room was clean and in good shape. The room was handicapped accessible; my mom’s wheelchair could fit in easily, and the bathroom is easy to maneuver. The continental breakfast is of good quality and variety. Internet is fast and reliable and a wide assortment of TV channels are available. If you are willing to pay, this is a good place to stay for the weekend.

While this place isn’t exactly the Four Seasons, it was perfectly serviceable for our one-night stay in Athens. Our room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The location is great – we were able to simply park our car at the hotel and walk everywhere we needed to go. The main stop on our agenda was the 40 Watt Club, which is only a five minute walk away. In other words, if you’re coming from out of town for a show, this place is perfect. Regarding the price, we didn’t come on a game day, so our stay was only $ 62 per night after tax.

$ 150/night. $ 150/night. $ 150/night. Yeah, I’m still in sticker shock, so please take this review with a grain of salt as I am usually the queen of cheap. However, gameday weekend in Athens requires that cheapness be abandoned, and thus I found myself staying in the most expensive hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Even my recent stay at Ritz Carlton came in under this benchmark(thanks to a group discount, but still). The two biggest pros to the Day’s Inn are its location within easy walking distance of downtown Athens and its lack of a two-night minimum on gameday weekends, which is a day rigeour policy at all other Athens hotels. From there, it’s all downhill, and I would not consider staying at this property unless you’re in a pinch. Customer service was lacking on the phone and in person. We were told over the phone before arrival that side-by-side rooms were not possible for two separate reservations(uhh, really?). My blowdryer blew a fuse(even though I plugged it in in the same spot as their provided blowdryer), and they were less than accommodating in getting it fixed. Sheets were stained, and there was a dead cricket in the bathroom. Ew. So, in close, only stay here if you need a place to stay for one night only during a gameday weekend.
