I called them at 2:00 and needed a last minute cake by 4. They were kind and friendly and rose to the challange. They gave me a Bhtter Rum cake that was amazing! Everyone loved the cake, I wish I lived in town, I would go there more often for their cakes and other baked goods!

Hands down, best bakery in town. This is hometown, homemade at its best. Their buttercream icing is legendary, atop their moist, delicious cakes are perfect for any occasion or just for a little self indulgence. My favorite is the yummy dream bar & that’s not even cake! Not only are their desserts fabulous, they have LUNCH! I love the Cherry Laurel Chicken Salad made with their fresh dressing that is also available for separate purchase. This is local favorite you don’t want to miss!

Looks like a good place for fudge and sweets, clean and straight dining area. The breakfast menu is very limited but decent breakfast taco if you’re hungry. Coffee was okay, they were out of creamer and when i went to refill very little coffee left. Good place but competition down the road has better food menu and coffee. Still better than a chain for sure and charming building

Good sandwiches & pastries. Had a Ruben & broccoli soup. Reuben was outstanding. Soup was very thick & heavy, served in styrofoam bowl. I wouldn’t order soup again. Took home cake balls & key lime cake slice. All tasty but pricey. $ 2 per cake ball & they were small. Sandwich, soup & pastries $ 32 not including tip. Will go back for sandwiches.

I was hoping for a sweet tooth kick but was a little disappointed. Treats were good especially the cake balls but we needed water for the road like a bottle water or some kind of soft drink and there were no options. Customer service was lacking too we waited about ten minutes and finally someone came to the front to help us.

Hands down my favorite place in east Texas food is out of this world good and homemade with great ingredients and topped off with love and the cakes are to die for absolutely delicious and you will be treated like family from the first time you step foot in the adorable little café bakery and don’t forget a piece of fudge for the road

We ordered a chocolate cake for our son’s wedding rehersal dinner. The cake was absolutely beautiful with a heart shape and beach shoreline theme. It was delicious. One of the best cakes I have ever tasted. I felt the cake was priced very well. Definitely«5» stars.

Great salads and soup! Their iced tea is perfect in the summer. They are always extremely friendly. The broccoli cheese soup is really good. Really is a treasure in this small Texas town.

I wish this place could be open longer hours, & maybe that they had a few more vegetarian-friendly selections on the menu. They also have carry-out options available. But I like visiting the store in person, too. They have several options for tables – inside where you can see the counter(with all the desserts) & people waking in, or a more private room in the back, or outside on the patio(weather permitting). The staff are also very friendly & helpful.

So I came here the other day and got the broccoli cheese soup and the turkey wrap. I was really disappointed that the hot soup came in Styrofoam bowls. Not only does it look tacky, it is very unhealthy to eat out of and terrible for the environment. The soup was good, though too thick for soup. The turkey wrap my husband liked okay but didn’t even know it was supposed to have pecans on it until I said something. He said that the last few bites were good but before the end most weren’t. It was an $ 8.29 wrap also, and didn’t come with salsa like they said it would and came with a bag of lays potato chips. I didn’t know people still ate that fake crap. Anyway, I’m fairly disappointed in my last visit but may return in the future.

Stopped in for lunch and so glad we did! Far exceeded our expectations! The Cabana Wrap was out of this world and the Iced Vanilla Chai was the best I have ever tasted! This is my new favorite lunch spot! Will definitely be back!

Breakfast is not their strong suit. Good gravy buns were dry, flavorless and weirdly lacking in gravy. Quiche crust was soggy and seemed underdone, and the serving size was incredibly tiny. Stick with the cake and their delicious broccoli soup, the rest is a miss.

Stopped in Saturday, May 17th, to pick up a selection of Homemade Fudge for a friends birthday. There are so many choices… alll delicious! My personal favorite… Chocolate Sea Salt. Yummmmmola! The staff is friendly and very accomodating. The Bakery/Café’ is cozy & quaint. The décor is a collection of days gone by… mismatched tables and chairs & creaky wood floors… reminders of my Grandmothers house. The fine aroma of coffee and bakery goods will welcome you when you walk through the front door. Cherry Laurel offers a wonderful selection of homemade soups and sandwiches. Next time, I plan on coming in, sitting down and enjoying a sandwich and slice of their Italian Cream Cake. So happy to have found this little gem.

I have used this bakery for many years including having a 5 tiered wedding cake. I don’t know how they make their cakes so amazing but I have never been disappointed! They have made me a Keystone Light bottled cake that turned out better than I could have imagined for my husbands birthday, a Britney Spears look alike cake for mine, an Uncle Si cake, ect. You won’t leave disappointed!

This quaint little place is in my hometown. The BEST cake you can get anywhere! Butter rum = heavenly & the ultimate wedding cake. My siblings have had it for their weddings; we even drove my brother’s cake down to San Marcos when he got married! So far as the café, it is reasonably priced & the food is delicious. The bakery has all kinds of fantastic treats available in a case or made to order, including slices of all their cakes, cupcakes, cakeballs, bars, and fudge. And to top it off, the staff is great: friendly, attentive, and courteous. The last time I went I got there 5 minutes before closing and they still cheerfully served me(they close at 3 a couple days a week). Check their hours before you go, but go you must! :)
