Daylight Donuts

Since new ownership in beginning of this year 2015 this shop looks amazing is open every day of the week and barely ever closes!!! Biscuits and gravy made from scratch daily and a whole new look ! The donuts are as tastier then ever and the service is soo friendly and helpful !!! I Def recommend this place to anyone who enjoys quality food at low prices and great customer service !!!

We stopped in for a quick doughnut and coffee. I asked the lady behind the counter if they had any sprinkled doughnuts available, and she said they did not. But she offered to make one for me. She took the time to let me choose a doughnut, then went into the kitchen and I watched as she iced the thing and added sprinkles, just for me.
Doughnuts were good, coffee was good, and the place was clean, if not a little drab. The seating area resembled your average small-​town diner. Would definitely recommend you stop here for some coffee while you do your shopping.

At first, I turned my nose up to Daylight Donuts because 1) it is one of many, many Daylight Donut stores around the world and 2) it doesn’t make a good old fashioned donut the way that I like it. However, once I turned my attention to their other offerings, I came to realize that Daylight Donuts still has that small-​town feel like many of Atchison’s other businesses, as well as makes good products.
I usually don’t like yeast donuts, but I do enjoy Daylight’s glazed yeast donuts and long johns. They also have great apple fritters and cinnamon rolls (both baked and fried). Their cake donuts are a little too small and dry for my tastes, but they make delicious muffins. My favorite is the chocolate chip one.
If you get there late in the morning and most of the donuts have been picked over they also have an offer where you can fill a box with as many donuts as can fit for a dollar (or something crazy cheap like that). And then once they sell all of their donuts, they close shop. It could be at noon or it could be at 9am (though highly unlikely).
Things were rough between Daylight Donuts and I for a while, but I have a feeling that we’re going to have a good relationship from now on.

Good place, wish they had more like this in the Midwest.
