Im giving 2 stars because i lived here. The festival itself is LAME!!! I get that this is no major city but still… enough of the Hee Haw nonsense. The surrounding cities at least bring a little culture to their festivals. Paso robles has wine and art, Morro bay has a nice sea theme to theirs. Get the point? But then again this places name means mud hole or sewer

Colony Days is the Local, annual, event of the Year — Celebrating the city of Atascadero, its history and people. The Event has an early morning breakfast, followed by a parade followed by Tent City, a recreation of Atascadero Circa 1916 complete with live actors and a fully set up town. There is also in the afternoon at the local High school and Field show and drum line competition for all the schools in the surrounding area. It too is quite a spectacle and a lot of fun. The Colony Days festival has been happening on the third Saturday of October for 41 Years(as of 2014) and gets better every year. Come and enjoy the town and be part of the celebration.
