Although I am giving this place 4 stars, I think it is ridiculous how they have a cover charge when there are sporting events. I was already iffy about $ 10 but CHARGING $ 30ISSIMPLYABSURDANDDISGUSTING and for a quarter-final game not even the final. At least include a complementary drink or something. What exactly is the reason that it is $ 30? It is a game you can watch for free somewhere else but they take advantage of their customers. Besides that fact, this place is fun to go to, definitely for younger crowds. Good music and great food. Will not return for any major sporting events however.

This place is very chill to go with a big group of people. It has a huge outdoor area with lunch tables to just hang out and drink… Hookah is way way overpriced for only one charcoal. Beer is priced well, as well as the food. Make sure you bring cash with you when they are having big events and they know they will be selling lots of beer because they will have singes all over stating cash only… Hmmm how convenient that on a extremely busy day with a soccer game on you have a cash only sign at all the registers smh… This happens all the time when they have big events. Otherwise on a normal Saturday night they will sometime have a dj inside. I would call before going to make sure

I came for the USA vs Argentina game and it was horrible. They STOPPED serving pitchers of beer at a beer garden how is that possible… and then they have the audacity to charge 20 at the door… the nerve of this place. I will never ever come here for a soccer game… ever…oh and the credit card machines mysteriously stoped working this place SUCKS… NOT worth it. Never again!!! Better places are found in the city. Studio Square is my new favorite spot! Summers are so much fun here because the courtyard is open. I had a great birthday celebration at Studio Square during a Quiet Event. The DJs were great, the drinks were cheap, and the crowd was fun. The food was okay, but my friends and I were too busy dancing to eat. Hookah is much cheaper at Studio Square than at any other club I’ve been to, and they have more flavors to choose from. Overall, Quiet Events at Studio Square will always be on my calendar during the summer.

Came here last night to watch the NBA finals. I love this location to watch the game and grab some drinks. But a $ 10 cover fee is unnecessary for going to a bar and watching the game. I understand if there’s a performance or something, but just to enter and watch a free game which is shown everywhere very unnecessary. Its over crowded in the outside area, so we decided to sit in the inside where there’s some people. My first time trying the chicken wings there and they were amazing. Always my go to place but the door cover is a bummer. Will not return to watch a game.

Wow is all I can say about this place. Came here to watch the NBA Finals game with my boyfriend and was amazed at this place! It is freaking huge! They have TV’s inside as well as 2 huge flat screens outside. We luckily were able to get a table bc this place gets packed! I read in reviews everybody was drinking the blue lemonade. Loved it! Make sure you arrive early or you’ll be in the super long line they have.

i would have given this place a 5 star if they enforced a policy against people who end up throwing beer at each other and to the whole place. extremely disrespectful and bad vibes. because of this my friends and i just couldn’t enjoy a soccer game or even buy some drinks. beer, cups and ice was being thrown to everyone and around. get your security guards to kick them out next time!

Right after I got beer showered in this place… I do care about my $ 20 entrance fee when the place is not going to give the value to pay it. I appreciate the gigantic screen they have to watch sports and have fun but they definitely need some security guards to kick out people who throw beer on others. They should be someone disciplining those kids, are they 21 yet??? I do like every other thing from this place because I have been there several times but never with this disappointment. I would like to ask for one simple thing. Dear manager, in big events, when you know your place gets packed, use the entrance money to have people securing the place to have a healthy and safe time!!!

CON’S –Expect to wait on line for a long time before getting in. –The crowd is not friendly or inviting at all. –You will pay a $ 10 cover. –The security and bouncers here are some of the rudest in all of NYC. –Their credit card machines always«stop working» when the place gets packed on the weekends, which is business fraud & is illegal. –There is never anywhere to sit at the outdoor picnic tables because the place is always so crowded. PRO’S –They have a big TV outside.

What an awful place to set up shop for the night, between rude security guards, rude bartenders and $ 25 pitchers of sangria, not to mention the long line to get in. I went there to have a nice laid back evening, what I got was a lot of aggravation. They choose not to take credit cards(I’m sure for tax evasion purposes), and now all of a sudden don’t sell pitchers of beer anymore. What they do sell now are just overpriced, oversized cups of beer. I had asked for a pitcher of beer and wasn’t told informed ahead of my order that they no longer sell pitchers of beer, and instead asked me how many cups would I like, to which I said 4, what I got was 4 cups of beer and was about to be charged $ 81. I wasn’t given any kind of customer service it was pay $ 81 or leave, no resolution as to I’m sorry for not telling you ahead of time that we don’t serve pitchers and only sell cups of beer now, maybe we can fix this. The bartenders and security were both very rude. I will be sending a complaint to the better business bureau and I will no longer be frequenting this establishment, something about it comes off very shady to me. I encourage others to complain to the better business bureau as well.

It has the potential to be a great place but their bounces and staff are rude. No manners to attend people. If you are looking for a place to watch Copa America Soccer Games, this is not your place. $ 10 fee for games that are televised for free. Do yourself a favor and go with your to Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden(I don’t have any afiliation with this place) however they have better customer service and no entrance fee. This tends to happen only with Soccer Games. When its baseball or NBA usually there is no cover so it seems their fees are targeted to certain communities or sports preferences.

Used to always have a great time at this place, Idk what happened. You guys decided when you want to have the credit card machines working and when you want to pour pitchers. Don’t appreciate the rudeness of the security and bartenders, could be a lot nicer.

The place is huge! If you can’t find seats or a spot to hang out, there’s probably a prime time event going on. They’ve got multiple counters set up around the place with a solid selection of drinks and food. The prices are relatively expensive but worth it. Don’t get me wrong, the food isn’t phenomenal, but it’s great for the setting and the portions are reasonable. During prime time sports events, Studio Square is the best place to be if you enjoy having tons of people cheer on your favorite team. In the garden they’ve got 2 big projectors set up in front of a crowd about the size of a movie theatre, not the mention the people set up around the main seating area. If you love a huge, loud venue during sports games and you aren’t picky about the food being served then this is the spot for you!

Wow… Check out«Kelly Y» review on her experience at Studio Square June 4th. It’s literally the same experience i had… I’ve been to Studio Square before and had a good time, until yesterday. I went yesterday, early evening, for a birthday celebration for my cousin. I was looking forward to watching some Copa America games and a chilled relaxing evening. We get to the place and are introduced with a $ 10 entrance fee. huh? $ 10 entrance fee? to a bar? Is there dancing? No. Is this a lounge? No. Is this a club? No. It’s a Bar. No matter how contemporary you make the place look, no matter how many TVs you have or how sleek you make the place look, at the end of the day, it’s a bar. Fine. It’s a Birthday celebration for my cousin. we have 21 people on their way. whatever. we’ll deal. At this point, it was only 5 people there. As i pay, my Fiancé is speaking to one of the employees there, asking if we get stamped bc within an hour, we have to pick people up from Laguardia, but were coming back. The employee says«No, you would have to pay a re-entrance fee». WTF ReEntrance Fee? You charge people to go to this bar and you don’t even have the decency to stamp people incase they have to leave but want to come back. As we are figuring out what to do. We see Cash Only. Wow. This toilet is non stop flushing. Your head is so inflated to be ballsy enough to charge people to go to a bar and not take cards? the year 2016. In NY. THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN they dont sell pitchers. The bartenders says«we dont sell pitchers for events»…pfffffffffffft ridiculous. Yes. Studio Square made $ 50 on our entrance fee, but we left immediately and contacted everyone else and told them to meet at BOHEMIANBEERGARDEN where they didnt charge an entrance fee, played music, sold pitchers and we still saw our Soccer games. It’s ridiculous. This is NY. You can walk down the street and find 4 or 5 spots that offer the same exact thing and not charge garbage fees Does Studio Square look great. Sure. is it Spacious? sure. Is it worth $ 10 entrance fee and to roll with loads of cash bc they dont want to take cards? hell no. Again, it’s NY, there are a bunch of better places to wisely spend your money Never again…

First off — if you’re looking for a more inviting crowd, you’re already looking at the wrong place. Do yourself a favor and look up «Bohemian Beer Garden.» Came here for the soccer game but with the lack of pitchers for sale and a cover charge, I don’t think I’ll be returning — unless it’s a last resort. Since the soccer game was playing, each person is charged a $ 10 per person cover(CASHONLY — so make sure you have $$$$ ready. Also, the IDNYC are not valid– you must have another form of gov issued ID). While they say that credit cards are accepted, the machines are«not working» for alcohol. Only for food. The tickets are one time use so if you have to exit the premises to take a smoke or get something from your car, you’ll have to pay the cover charge again. Um, instead of tickets, why not use a stamp so patrons can show the stamps and come back in? Even clubs allow you to reenter after exiting. this is just a BAR. in Queens. The business sure rank #1 in maximizing their profit. The bouncers were rude AF! It was raining at one point so the crowd huddled to take cover to avoid the rain. the bouncer told everyone to move and that«it’s just water.» How would you feel if you were thrown into the Hudson River then be told«It’s just water.» I understand Bouncers need to be tough but damn, lighten up. Each 20oz beer is $ 13. Not worth it. Pitcher itself are around $ 20 but again, if you are here to watch the games, they do not offer pitchers so you’re forced to purchase alcohol by the cups. Outdoor seating– no overhead canopies to accommodate guests when there’s rain. Instead of being able to watch the game on the two large screens, you’d have to move inside and be seated indoors where there are many Tvs and seating but cmon, who wants to watch the game indoors in the summer? Crowd– definitely caters to a younger audience. Places are filled with younger people and you can tell that the crowd is not native to QUEENS. If you enjoy large and loud crowd, this is the place for you. People bump into you and don’t bother saying«Excuse me. I’m sorry.» Also, the line was 3 blocks long at one point… better come here early to pay extra for everything. Food– selection is your typical American bar food selection. Burgers, salads, fries, grilled cheese, Grilled chicken. I could go on but you get the idea — no complaints there. You can’t really go wrong here unless the food is served cold over a platter of bugs. After the vibe I got from this place, despite paying the cover charge, i stayed for one soccer game, finished my drink, and went to Bohemian Garden. Honestly, Bohemian Garden is the place to go if you’re looking for a less stuck-up, diverse and chill crowd.

My birthday was rightfully celebrated at this place. Oh my goodness I was so worried that the day was gonna suck because the weather ended up dropping drastically. I was worried that everyone would freeze sitting in the outdoor space. Little did I know that this place also had a large indoor space. My large party fit, and had an amazing time. Definitely gonna be ‘the spot’ come summer time.

I came here last night with my boyfriend to the quiet clubbing event and I must say it was a blast. When would’ve thought people would have fun with headphones. At first, I thought isn’t this antisocial but when you see the dis and other people around with the colors, you get excited. I also like how anyone can go there and just chill and not worry about typical club drama(bad music, fighting, etc.). The space is huge and they have an indoor and outdoor where we were mainly outside because it does get hot like sweat box hot. I only had a shot because I can’t drink at the moment and the shot did me right. Even though I’m all the way out in Brooklyn, I definitely wouldn’t mind coming to Queens again especially to this place. P. S. Boyfriend approves the place as well.

This place is super chill even on a Friday night. It’s spacious, so there’s enough room to bring your entire extended family. They also have outdoor seating, but it was too cold when I went. Two huge drinks during happy hour were $ 14. Although, I don’t really recommend getting the vodka lemonade because the artificial blue food coloring is strong in this one. The alcohol is unnoticeable but it definitely creeps up on you. Also tried the poutine, which is so good! I was there for five hours, but it felt like two. There seems to be a plethora of activities throughout the night, but it never seems too crowded(which can also be a bad thing). We went on a night that they were having the silent disco for an extra cost. At around 10:30, the disco was still relatively quiet so we didn’t stay. It would’ve been nice to see what it’s like though.

I came here for the Quiet Clubbing event, and I had a good time. The venue was clean and spacious, and the bartenders were good. However, the food wasn’t impressive. I ordered chicken tenders, and they were not seasoned. The drinks were reasonably priced, though(cheaper than Manhattan prices). We got a pitcher of Sangria for $ 25. I do wish that someone came to clear the tables. I put away the trash myself in between dancing, and when we spilled some drinks, nobody was around to help us clean it up. I’ll come back to Studio Square depending on the event.

Friends talked about this place so we decided to go and meet up. Is good small and large group it’s perfect for any sport activities to watch. Is beautiful place, plenty of bathrooms, cigars smoke, easy finding parking around the area, pong table, outside of the yard is huge for big activity & concert so I’m looking forward to come by again. The food is no big thing Aveage food buffalo wings, nachos and excetera. serve liquor, selectable of beers but they don’t have any IPA beer

This is strictly for a daytime visit– I have never been there at night but I can hear the music and see the lines which makes me want to run away! However, daytime– specifically to watch games– NFL, World Cup, etc, its a pretty diverse space. Huge outdoor space, various areas inside gives options for anyone. Pretty great wings, crispy style fries and nice beer selection. Great for groups.

This was the first spot I had gone when I frequented the good, it was awesome, had a blast but since returning, it’s sorta more of this hipster cool kids club and I’m not as impressed, when I’m in there I’m going somewhere more laid back and chill, weather it be a beer garden, or my local dives. I do like the sluts and the chicken tenders a lot.

Great for watching football games on sundays. Food is typical bar fare, wings are okay and the fries are good. The electric lemonade is the best thing offered here! Buy the groupon, its a great deal if you like watching the game with some friends at a bar. It’s $ 28 for a large order of wings, a bucket of fries, and a pitcher of your choice of beer, sangria or electric lemonade. Definitely worth the deal. Service is standard, nothing to brag about.

The food here is not good, but it’s a good place for groups and meeting people. Large tvs and projector for sports games, fights, etc. Outdoor area is open even when it’s cold. I’ve been here several times on different occasions and it’s always the groups that make the place enjoyable. Drinks prices are good. No table service, so you do have to go up to a bar to order drinks. but it’s pretty quick.

I’d heard about this place several times and wanted to check it out. What a better time to check it out than a Colombia vs. Peru Copa America futbol match? I arrived to the upstairs area after the match had already started to a sea of yellow, some blue, red, and white. The energy was nice, the place was extremely packed with all the benches and much of the floor occupied, and the beer on tap chipped in to heighten the game day experience. If anyone in attendance wasn’t a fan when they arrived, they were surely a futbol fan while there that day. You couldn’t help it. As I mentioned earlier, beer… It was located at several stations around the huge open space on tap. There weren’t many choices, but beer wasn’t really the headliner. One should have gone to a regular well stocked bar if that’s the experience they were seeking. This was the closes thing to an extended covered stadium environment filled with passionate fans. There was no cover on the occasion I visited, though I hear promoters sometimes throw private events where there is an entry fee. If planning to go you may want to call ahead for info.

What can I say about S2 that no one has said about before? Great place to catch live games with sound and great drink specials during prime time games. Events: They also hold special events such as the quiet party I attended over a week ago which was interesting but would not do ever again. It was an once in a life time experience that I would not turn back on(my girl drag me into it). Two years ago I attended the Sam Adams Oktoberfest which contain German sausages and various seasonal Sam Adams beers and many competitions during the event. Every Halloween they have the best parties and dj’s. Food: Burgers and the chicken sandwiches with the very affordable and very addicting bucket of fries is always a plus. Environment: Doesn’t matter why you come here, S2 is a great place where you can catch up with friends, play some cards and enjoy some beers and a cigar, bring a first date, celebrate your birthday or a promotion. Overall is a great environment and it doesn’t matter the occasion you will come back for more great times.

Overrated. Too commercial. Cashing in on the beer garden hype. Missing key element of what makes a beer garden/hall a beer garden. Food: average. Service: what service? Too cold(figuratively), empty and soulless for my tastes(and I’m a true bred New Yorker.) So that speaks miles. Why go here when there’s the real deal with Bohemian beer hall in Astoria? Answer my own question… that’s why I stopped going to this place. I only speak the cold unforgiving truth that is life. *Smiley face*

Honestly I never thought I could like/love a place as much as I do Studio Square. Introduced by a coworker of mine who lives in the neighborhood I thought it would just be a chill afterwork spot for every once in a while. That is not the case, my coworkers and I regularly bring up Studio Square as an after work option and we work in the Bronx. The place has very cool vibes, very chill and honestly with the gorgeous weather we’ve been having its great to sit outside with a good drink. We typically order the Blue Lemonade. which we have nicknamed the«Blue Drank». Its never disappointing, not noticeably strong but you quickly realize that it is effective. Recently finding out that you can play beer pong has also been fun. We played a few rounds on our last visit and I think it just solidified our love for the place. The food is pretty good too. While the food bar is cash only its not too bad. You just have to come with cash so that you can eat. We have a gluten intolerant coworker who only orders the salad. Its a little disappointing that they don’t have different food allergy accommodations but really you’re not there to eat. I suggest this place to everyone now and think its a must visit venue. Always good vibes. Oh and Thursdays are karaōke nights! Its a must!

Came here on a Friday night for my friend’s birthday party, didn’t know what to expect. Line was long as if I was waiting to get into a club in the city however it moved pretty quickly. It was also a «Silent Party» night in which everybody wears these cool headphones. You have to get the headphones otherwise you’ll just see everybody jumping and dancing to no music. This place is a great place to gather with small or large groups of friends over beer and food. They have a lot of space, both covered and out in the garden area. They have TVs all over the place, including a GIANT one outside with unbelievable clarity! It’s a sports fan’s haven! Beers and hard ciders are sold either by the cup or the pitcher, and prices are reasonable; I paid $ 18 for a pitcher of Shocktop. The food is varied and delicious for bar food. An added plus is that the bathrooms are surprisingly clean!

I finally made a Ladies Night at S2 and it happened to be the first Wednesday of the month which also made it Country Night. Happy hour(4−7pm) ends but Lady’s Night goes until closing with drink specials at $ 4 draft beers on tap and red and white sangria. I was surprised to find their sangria on tap but even more surprised that it was actually good. If you want to kick it up a notch, just add a shot of brandy or cognac and your evening will be good. Though I’m not a fan of the music genre, good music is good music and one could not help but be entertained by Rachel Allyn and the band. They were a lively band and you felt the energy of them having a good time performing. Corona was doing a promotional that evening and was giving away straw cowboy hats which also made the warm summer night festive. I’ll be back again and I wont shy away from first Wednesday either to catch another Rachel Allyn performance. Maybe I’ll buy some cowboy boots too!

This is a fun and affordable place to come hang out on a nice summer day. It’s also great for sipping some brews and watching a sporting event. I’ve heard they host some pretty awesome World Cup parties here. They have a wide open patio space with an enormous screen that can be viewed from almost anywhere in the square. It’s a great venue for big groups since the long tables can easily fit 30 people. The beers are relatively affordable and they rotate their draft brews depending on the season. I think they take credit card for orders over $ 10, but my bartender was a dick about it and told me it was cash only even though my bill was $ 14. So just be wary about that if you come visit. My friend aptly described the crowd as ‘bro-tastic’ which is very accurate. The food is standard bar food. We had a giant bucket of chili cheese fries which probably weighed about five pounds. It was pretty awesome. It was the perfect drinking food. If the weather turns sour they also have a pretty large indoor section. It can get really loud inside though, and I enjoyed the outside space best. The real draw of this space is the outdoor beer garden, so I’d definitely recommend coming here when it’s nice and sunny out.

AWESOME spot. I’ll be honest, I never go to Astoria but this place is worth the trip. I came for a Sunday Funday birthday get together for one of my friends and was completely blown away by this venue. It’s massive and offers everything you need and more to ensure you’ll have a good time. There are a few bars located throughout, a snack bar offering some really good, gourmet treats like buckets of fries, huge pretzels, guacamole, etc, a massive outdoor beer garden space with plenty of seating, not to mention the screen showing whatever sporting event is on at the time. It’s such a relaxed environment and people of all ages come to gather. There were 20somethings, some people with babies and little kids, but the best part… no one seems to mind! Come here, grab a beer, and enjoy a nice, relaxed day. For those of you who fear venturing outside the city, a few subway stops is no big deal and definitely worth the trip.

I love Studio Square. This place is the best, seriously. Let me tell you why: A) each time I go I get blackout drunk B) drinks are fairly inexpensive C) I duno how they make the lemonade or sangria but I get EXTRA drunk when I drink either of those. D) they always have great events E) crowd is chill, everyone is just looking to turn up
