Sparkling Snail

They were nicer and more customer friendly than most nail salons but maybe that’s bc I was (along with many more) being duped and they knew it.
I diverged from my regular salon Dahlia (which is great) bc snail’s was having a gel tips sale. 35 instead of 50. Big deal.
Here’s why… They used what they called a gel powder on the nails. Long story short it was acrylic and they called it feel to be able to charge more. Super annoying. And they made my nails so much longer than I wanted, had me pay extra five dollars for a pointy tip them gave me a round tip. noThere was time to fix it because they were rising through the job anyway to close. Even with the sale my tab was (still!) sixty dollars plus my normal fifteen dollar tip and I didn’t even get that hand massage you always get when you spend well at the nail salon. I wouldn’t go back unless I was getting a regular pedicure or Something, but even then I would expect to be disappointed in some other way so maybe I won’t go back at all. I’ll stick with Dahlia. They’re always busy for a reason. Wish me luck on getting them to trim these inch long rounded claws down tomorrow.

3 days later my $ 25 GEL MANICURE ($ 32 including my generous $ 7 tip) is peeling. Never come here ever again. Hopefully when I go tonight after work they will fix it… According to the other reviews I’m doubtful. I can not afford a $ 32 mani that lasts 3 days. I came Tuesday (with my 2yr old daughter) from the opposite side of Astoria and came in hoping to find my new salon for gel nails. I’m very disappointed and was hopping for this to be a 2−3week investment.
I called several times but the number does not work.

I came here as a walk in customer and extremely happy with my choice. The staff was friendly the service I purchased was well worth the price. The color I wanted for my nails were not what I wanted desired, but the staff was very attentive in fixing things up.

AVOID! AWFUL! I was treated very rudely and unprofessionally by a member of the staff here, and I will never return. I paid $ 5 extra for a 7 day non-​chip CND nail polish, and it chipped in one night. Ugh. So I very respectfully went back the next day to ask the woman who seemed to be in charge if perhaps something could be done. At first she ignored me, then she scowled at me when I asked her again for her assistance, then she clearly started complaining about me in a different language, and then she sighed out loud, rolled her eyes at me and blamed me for the chips, and then IGNORED ME AGAIN! That was it for me, I walked out after telling her I would never be back. I hope people think twice about going here and instead take their business to a nail salon in the neighborhood that truly values its customers and strives to make them feel appreciated.
Oh, and I always tipped 33%. It’s a shame that the workers here who were always nice to me are losing my gratuity generosity.

Waste of money and time!
The new owner is cheap and OBVIOUSLY lacks tact and service with clientele.
Used to come here for years and stopped after 3 gel manicures that after a week ended up chipping. The third time, I popped back in and asked for a new gel after 4 days and an obvious bad gel job reappearing. The owner asks for proof purchase despite the fact I spoke to her just a few days before, and have been in quite a few times but sure ill give her the benefit of the doubt– she might not remember me. She then says she will fix only one nail and that the rest are just dirty! This is then followed my some childish behavior… yes, she ignores me while i defend my clearly clean hands with the fact that I type on keyboards most of the day and my mother taught me well with keeping my hands clean. :) She then proceeds to point at a non-​existent policy on the wall that says nothing relating to a new gel set.
I usually spend close to 100 bucks every time i go there with massages and pedi’s, so a refund was no sweat of my back, but the principal of having my nails done properly after repeated mistakes, was.
So sad. Oh and they put acetone in my gel which I saw w my on eyes. Could be the culprit of my 1 week gel mani.

I understand why the staff can’t be honest. I walk in and was told it’s only a 15 minutes wait, and 30 mins after the fact they finally put in a chair but even before they begin, they walk away to help other customers who came in after me to settle in to chairs. Wtf? Then, after 45 minutes of what should have been a 15 minutes wait, they finally begin. Why can’t the staff respect the fact that us as customers might actually have other things to do, other appt to attend. Why can’t you guys just be honest at least then I can know if I have that extra time to wait. Just absolute bullshit. I will not be coming back and nor will I recommend anyone else to come.
