When I first moved into the area, one of the first things I had to find was a staple Dominican salon. Lo and behold, I found this place right down the block from my new apartment and I’ve been going to Qilcy to get my hair done for over 2 years now!
It’s a no-​frills salon, but the owner — Kilcy — knows her stuff. Most of the time, service can be touch and go depending on who’s working that day; to be honest, I’ve had one or two upsetting experiences. Relaxers are $ 35 (I’ve paid over $ 70 when I lived in DC, so this price point always makes my wallet smile) and blowouts are amazing!
The convenient location and super affordable prices keep me coming back — doesn’t hurt that my hair looks great!
