Doctor really isn’t good. He didn’t do at least one normal test on me because, he said, I’m too tall for the equipment — which looks ancient. The doctor also didn’t look very steady on his feet, and it was too cramped in the exam room to be safe, in my opinion. Also, I told him my eyes were itchy, and he briefly checked above and below the inside of my eyes(but NOT on the inside of my eyelid), but said nothing. Well, my eyes are still itchy, so, yeah, thanks for that. And I paid the normal amount for the exam plus a six-month supply of contact lenses. The lady behind the counter, of course, had an attitude, and was pretty disorganized and unprofessional. When I went to pick up my lenses, I asked for my prescription, and the lady behind the counter — who is obviously not an optimetrist! — actually started to write out my prescription. I told her that she couldn’t do that. She said she was just planning to have the doctor sign it … but the doctor wasn’t working that day. Strange coincidence, huh? Another lady behind the counter wears a white lab coat, like that’s supposed to fool me or something. This place is a joke! Stay away!

I was recently visiting my daughter in Astoria, and on a bit of a whim, stopped at Lens Lab Express to try on eyeglass frames. It was just for fun, but I ended up finding 3 pair of frames I loved… unique, different, fun frames! I was very skeptical about ordering eyeglass so far from home(I live in Illinois). When the 3 pair of glasses arrived… they were perfect, and I am thrilled. Will definitely do business with them again!

Employees LIE and CHEAT their customers. I stopped in during a 40% off sale. I was not purchasing the whole bells and whistles of glasses, just the frames to have my lenses from an old pair transferred to. When the assistant said the pair was $ 350 «but I’ll be charged $ 250 to match the cost of the previous frames you purchased 3 years ago,» I thought it was cute they thought I was stupid enough to not hear the man passing out fliers repeating«40% off all glasses» outside the front door. I provided a $ 100 dollar deposit and would bring in the UFT(public education insurance) voucher for the glasses when I returned to pick them up. Today, when I finally got around to picking the glasses up. I was told my balance is $ 150, to which I replied that I have brought my voucher, for them to be reimbursed $ 125. They insisted that the insurance would not cover that much for frames alone. I told them they were incorrect, and referenced the UFT insurance pamphlet I had on me. They replied«that’s why we took the money off of the original cost of $ 379.» They are claiming that they took 129 dollars off because of insurance, while they believed that the insurance only would cover a fraction of the $ 125? When I reminded the assistant that she said the insurance would only take $ 50 off during my initial visit, she got pissy and told me she never said that. I caught her in two lies regarding the insurance, and WISH I had snatched up a sale flier on the way out the first day to prove why the mark-down was $ 250 for sales, not because of an insurance amount she didn’t know S#*T about. SHELIES. De facto, THISESTABLISHMENTLIES and CHEATS its customers.

I recently had my eyes examined for contacts and glasses. Spent almost $ 400AFTER what my insurance covered. The contacts I tried were not ones I’ve normally used in the past. When I picked up my glasses and contacts about a week ago I was told if there were any issues feel free to come back. I went back today to let them know my vision was blurry from the contacts I was wearing and that I never had this issue with Acuvue before and would like to switch back. I was told by the doctor there…“yes you can see”. How can someone else tell you what you can see? Never in my life have I experienced such an unprofessional person. This man started yelling at me about what I was experiencing with the contacts. Basically telling me I was wrong. Who starts yelling at a customer because they aren’t happy. I never came in yelling at him and this man was so disrespectful to the point I am disgusted. I will be contacting their corporate management regarding his behavior. He was cantankerous and condescending the entire time. I will never recommend this place to anyone!

I’ve been wearing contacts/glasses for over 20 years and for the first time I was told that I couldn’t have my prescription faxed to me. I live over an hour away from lens lab express but was told that I would have to physically come in to receive my prescription. It really isn’t feasible and I was very disappointed by the unwillingness of lens lab express to help in any way. They wouldn’t even tell me over the phone what my prescription was over the phone. Beware.
