Nice try. but didn’t hit the spot for me. Astoria is known for AMAZING food… this place falls very short. It is a big space inside, lots of seating, good vibe, and a very spacious beer garden with palm trees, tiki torches, lots of tables, benches and lights. Great vibe. We came to watch a copa game and there was like NO life here. Studio Square is much better if you want to be in the thick of game watching madness. The TVS are very small and the speakers were quiet. I guess because there are tons of apartments surrounding? Service was slow but it wasn’t crazy busy… My food took a long time and everyone elses came out earlier. I got the fish tacos(mahi mahi) and was severely disappointed. Menu said«crispy» but was just doughy fried. There was no salt used. The coleslaw or cabbage the used was sweet and slimy. There was a spicy sauce with a kick but just no flavor except the sweet. I would come here again, but not order food. I do like the outdoor space but thats really all :(

So this is usually my go to place when I wanna watch a game or just get a drink, but I won’t be coming here again. I invited a few friends to catch the soccer game yesterday, and it was a huge FAIL. Started out getting a beer, was asked to refill for a beer another 45 minutes later. Just to order our drinks it took 15 minutes then to get another 30. It was just me and my friend I understand there’s huge groups that come here but also pay attention to the small parties. Secondly, when the rest of the party came we waited more time to get a menu, and then we called the girl so we can order because she was taking forever, she got there, but said she had to come back because she had to get her pad. It turns out 15 minutes past and my friend had to go up to her and ask if she ever got the pad and she responds«omg I’m so sorry I zoned out» I’ll be there. At this point, we were inside, I understand you have groups outside but be a little more attentive. We were already upset about the wait time, but the icing on the cake was when we found 4ANTS! In my friends drink! DISGUSTING! At this point I just wanted to cancel my food order. We ended up getting charged for the food that we waited for and the ant drinks. Huge disappointment. Look inside your food/drinks before consuming please!

Horrible service, bad food … Came here 6÷7÷16 for the soccer game… Took 20minutes to order food and we never saw our server again … We tried ordering a bottle of wine and our serve said they only had one open bottle left(Really !!!). We order a second round of drinks with another server and never got it… Getting the check was a mission, no where to be found our server, almost wanted to walk out !!! The bartenders are CLUELESS!!! How can you not know how to make a margarita or an old fashion ??? Well because they are too busy putting makeup and talking to each other … Where is the manager of this place ??? Can’t they see that waitress don’t care about customer and bartenders have no idea what they are doing !!! NEVERAGAIN !!! Gross and unprofessional establishment… This is the first time I have ever given a restaurant 1 star which they don’t even deserve …

Solid sports bar, more on the upscale side. Watched some playoff basketball here followed by a boxing PPV. They have a lot of TVs and larger food and drink selection. Some of the items are on the pricier side for a Queens sports bar, but the place is clean and modern, so it’s worth it. Plus they did not charge extra for the PPV. I had the Chips and Guacamole, Chicken FIngers, and Chicken Salad. For drinks, I had the Allagash White and some tequila. All of the food was fresh and tasty. WIll be back again.

Came here on a whim on my way to grab some grub. My friends and I were on a mission, but I couldn’t help but stop in since they had a sign calling themselves a brewhaus. I’m basing this review on my limited stay, but from what I’ve seen this is a beer and sports fans’ dream. Great selection of beer on tap, including their house brew. Lots of TVs. I’d say roughly a TV per table inside. Then an outside TV and a few more TVs in the covered outside area. Reading other reviews, I guess I’m lucky I didn’t eat the food nor did I come here during a busy time. In fact, the place was almost completely empty except for a love couple sitting outside and a group of 10 ppl dancing up a storm to classic dance/pop/r&b hits. They were definitely having fun. I’d definitely go back again, hopefully on a nice day with lots of sports playing. Hell, there are so many TVs, I wouldn’t be surprised if they put any other programming on. I’ve gone to bars before and had them put on everything from Awards shows to American Gladiators.

The first time I came across Katch Astoria was honestly from the Queens beer book coupons. It was the eve before my day of birth. We each had coupons plus my friend had an extra one. We embibed and then noticed a beer that was gifted to mankind by only that which of a God, more specifically, it was from Barrage Brewing Company on Long Island and called Yada Yada Yada. Seinfeld reference and a brown ale that claimed it had notes of peanut butter, I was sold. I was then wowed and then I never saw that beer in my life ever again. Untappd doesn’t even have it listed as being sold in any other bar except out on Long Island, so Katch must have some good beer snob connection going on. On that particular visit it also happened to be their first year anniversary. Aw, shucks, we were both having birthdays. This place decided to rent a mechanical bull in their backyard. They also didn’t care if we rode it multiple times in a row because there was no one really in the bar. Thank god. Because, boy did I fly. Swing forward a few weeks and months I have been back multiple times. Once or twice for the NYC Trivia League that they host on Tuesday nights at 8pm and its fun. It’s also conveniently taco tuesday that night with $ 3 tacos that surprisingly taste pretty great with freshly pulled meat and $ 5 Singlecut drafts all night. Wednesday: Bingo Night. My friend Steph raves about it, though I haven’t gone yet. Multiple prizes for winners all night long. $ 5 burgers and brews which allegedly taste quite fantastic. Thursday: Half off 7pm till closing for the ladies. Regular happy hour is $ 4 for their hi-lighted beers on draft until 7pm. Some hits and misses on their draft selection. I wish they would change out the kegs a bit more frequently and get some more crafty selections instead of the traditional Brooklyn brews, Singlecut, and Sam Adams and include the premium ales on happy hour. Surprise me. Their food though here is quite excellent. This is really the shock for a huge sports bar with a million tvs. As I said before the tacos were above average. But the maple bacon mac and cheese is one of the best macaronis I’ve had in Astoria to date. It’s a huge portion for being only $ 12 and is drenched with cream, a bit of sweetness from the bacon, gruyère, cheddar, monterey jack that all perfectly melts together so you don’t get anything gooey or stringy but rich sauce. They also have a maple mac and cheese cheeseburger version of this on their menu. In addition to all these wonderful things they serve boozey milk shakes and have an unlimited 2-for-1 brunch deal for $ 18 plus the addition of your food order. That also includes their beer of the day along with a lengthy list of brunch cocktails. The bartenders and manager are also super nice and friendly and they let you play whatever music you want in the bar if you download an app temporarily. Fantastic place that I will definitely be making my way back to multiple times over in the future.

No no no no no no no. This place was awful. I would never return to this place. My friend was having a birthday brunch here on Saturday. He called weeks in advance and booked part of the back room because there were about 40 of us attending. When we arrived the place was pretty chaotic. For a party this large we only had 1 waitress. 1. For 40 people. I’ll start with the food. After almost an hour wait, 5 plates came out at a time, and this continued to happen for 2 hours. People had gotten food at a slow and choppy pace. Nothing makes me more aggravated at a restaurant than some people having food before others. I understand that this situation was an exception but the length that it took was embarrassing. My husband enjoyed his chicken and waffles but we were all pretty repulsed by the ice cream scoop of butter on top of the chicken. My sister ordered the avocado toast. The toast was cold and soggy so let’s just call it bread. Also, what’s the most important part of avocado toast? That’s right, the avocado, and guess what was missing from her dish? You guessed it! The avocado. They brought over some old looking guacamole when she pointed out the mishap. It was a nightmare. Drinks. My husband ordered coffee. It took her 20 minutes and 2 reminders to finally bring it out. Afterwards she asked if he wanted milk or sugar? Is that a joke? Also she didn’t bring over a spoon so he had to stir with the end of his knife. My sister, best friend, and his girlfriend all ordered bloody Mary’s and they all hated them. I ordered what they called a bellini. It came out clear and looked like straight up prosecco until I took a whiff of it and realized they just poured peach schnapps into the glass and it was repulsive. It was also $ 8 and that’s pretty expensive to not get any peach purée. The other people in the group who ordered unlimited drinks were very upset at how slow it was to get a drink and some were only able to have 2 in the time frame which they were very strict about. I thought it was absurd. Everyone had to wait at least an hour for food and you couldn’t keep bringing drinks? Very rude. The bathroom was one of the worst parts of the experience. There was no toilet paper. The bathroom was filthy. My sister had to hand me toilet paper and then the bartender just handed me one of those industrial rolls and expected me to handle it myself. How embarrassing is that? I just left it on the floor and decided to leave. The service, food, drinks, and cleanliness were all pretty bad. The restaurant itself is nice but nothing about my experience was good. I’d never return.

The brunch menu is different from my last visit. Definitely more of a variety and the changes to some of the dishes have been for the better… particularly the chicken & waffle, which everyone who ordered it raved about. I liked the addition of the pork belly to my shrimp & grits but could have done without the jalapeño in my grits(personal preference). The French toast looked awesome and my friend cleaned his plate in record time lol. I only wish the mimosas were self serve like it was when I came before. The turnaround time for the bottomless could have been better. With such a large party we found ourselves with empty glasses for long periods of time more often than not. Aside from that everything was enjoyable. The staff accommodated our party of 20 in the courtyard and our waitress Serafina was great. I’ll be back and will recommend this place to others.

Katch has really great unhealthy foods, like an chicken waffles, triple decker burgers, tater tots and more. It is definitely unhealthy, but delicious!!! They also have a full stocked bar and a lot of beers to choose from! The staff was very attentive, friendly and quick!

I’ve come here on a few occasions and left feeling like this place was fine. I normally don’t like environments plastered with large televisions. There are tables you can sit in and a really nice outdoor area so that you can get away from them — but given the usually impressive beer selection here I tend to gravitate to sitting at the bar. My first time coming here was this summer and I tried«Yada Yada Yada» which is an American Brown Ale style beer brewed by BarrageBrewing Company LLC in Farmingdale, NY. It tasted like a beer made with notes of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup without any unpleasant chemical aftertaste. It was seriously so, so, SO good and I’ve never seen it anywhere else on tap but here. Too bad we never saw it again… I assume it was popular, lol. It was also their annual anniversary bash and while it wasn’t officially starting until much later Ingrid S. and I took turns riding a mechanical bull that they had set-up outside. There were only like 3 – 4 people in attendance(employees basically and us 2) and it was super, super fun. My most recent time here was for their Tuesday night trivia and $ 3 taco special. This was probably one of my best times ever playing trivia ANYWHERE. I seriously had a fantastic time here. The $ 3 tacos are pretty good — I got one beef and one pulled chicken one and the chicken taco was DEFINITELY the MVP here. Really juice, succulent and well seasoned/marinated. Beef was okay… but man… pulled chiiiiiiiiicken is where it’s at! I also won their«Facebook Trivia Question of the Day»(apparently 3 people also entered but don’t know how to follow directions… but one man’s inability to follow simple directions is another(wo)man’s treasure, lol) — the prize was a beer and since I wasn’t drinking I asked if I could replace my free beer with a taco(which let’s be honest, but free beer was a $ 6 value and the taco was a $ 3 value sooooooo win/win situation for both Katch and I: D) and they said okay. I went with the pulled chicken because *SEEABOVE*. My trivia team(of) who managed to end up tied for 1st place and so a tie breaker question was announced and a single rep of each team needed to go to the front and first person to answer correctly wins for their team. The question was basically something to the effect of «What’s the name of a show about recently widowed veterinarian who’s sister and best friend decide to live together to help her raise her kids?» After having watched the entirety of «Fuller House» like 3 days prior I knew the answer immediately the other team rep had no clue. HUZZAH!!! We basically won a $ 35 or $ 40 gift certificate for out next visit(which I’m hoping is brunch, because the bunch menu here looks sweeeeeeeet!). The manager was also really sweet and gave me a coupon for a free dessert next time also. He mentioned something about ice cream, booze and bacon. These are some of my favorite food groups so I’m definitely looking forward to coming back after being treated so well. My friend(and fellow trivia teammate) also ordered a taco and fries but I don’t think the bartender heard her fries order so they never came and she was kind of annoyed about it all night. Other foods I’ve tried here include their«Katch Fries»(basically their take on disco fries and equally as loaded with deliciousness!), their maple bacon Mac & cheese with GRUYÉRE(my favorite cheese!), cheddar and Monterey Jack and their cheese burgers(with a fried egg of course!) on $ 5 burger & bingo nights on Wednesdays. I have yet to try their wings but they look and smell delish. Service here is fantastic if you’re up at the bar. A few times I’ve come with friends and sat at a table service has definitely been less than great… so I just go up to the bar instead of waiting for a waitress. Overall, I would give this place 3.5 stars, but I’m rounding to 4 because I live close by and always have a good time when I’m here. Huge shout out to Joy, one of my favorite bartenders in Astoria! I would definitely have to be in the mood to go somewhere larger and more busy since I tend to prefer smaller/cozier places, but if you’re looking for a fun night or are rolling with a deep squad of people(or looking for a place to catch a sports game or a televised fight) I would definitely recommend Katch Astoria.

Let me tell you about Michelle. Michelle is my girl. I wish that every time I sat down to a boozy brunch I was met with this angel named michelle. Firstly, we had this very large square booth which is awesome because each of us feel like kings of our individual castles. Then, the drinks start. Can I just say how much I appreciate pure prosecco as an option? Like why the f am I trying to water down to champerZ with orange juice? Literally no reason. They have veggie sausage on the menu, which took a lot not to order. I got the lemon ricotta pancakes and we also got a table pretzel and side potatoes. ALLSOSODELICIOUS. One of my friends ordered the craziest onion rings I ever saw. Michelle kept us well quenched and happy and I will trek right on back to astoria to come back to the spacious, well priced, delicious place. Came here with Sam M., btw, she broke a glass and I offered to pee on her face

Katch happens to be one of the roomiest sports bars in Astoria. The selection offered both on and off tap will gratify your beer snobbery side. The bartenders here are really laid back and relaxed but very attentive. The big screens everywhere give you a good view no matter where you sit, as should be in a sports bar, but you don’t get the sense of being hovered over like most places due to the size. I suspect this is great for large group gatherings to partake in team spirit. This visit came about after a delicious Saturday brunch when a few of us decided to carry over our conversation matched with some craft brews. That said, we didn’t eat but viewed the menu, which looked more than interesting. The person who suggested this spot has eaten here previously and really enjoyed the food. Note to self to come back and try it. All in all, good spot, will return. Cheers.

Happy hour on Fridays go from 3−10pm! What a deal! They have many imported and exported beers on tap to choose from, even from Iceland! They also brew their own beer and they are all tasty. The food is also very good. I got the Santa Fe burger… Very juicy and delicious. I definitely recommend it. The tater tots are amazing and crunchy and the burgers come with home cut fries which were really good as well. Overall a great experience and will be coming back.

Good sports bar, always have the games on and have a pretty good selection of beer. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t so great. Don’t sit near the front window because you might be ignored, as we were. Food was good, nachos were delicious. Started with that as an app for the table — very cheesy and good portion size for sharing. I think they’re known for the burgers, which were pretty good. Just can’t give this one 4 – 5 stars because we had to flag down the waitress every time we needed something. Not sure she remembered we were still there. There were lots of empty drinks around the table and time spent looking for the waitress. FYI there’s a beer garden in the back! We didn’t sit out there, but it looks pretty cool.

Katch just seems to be getting better and wiser with age! I simply love and want to devour all of the tater tots with red pepper aioli sauce, the jumbo German pretzel with beer mustard and Guinness cheese sauce(cheese sauce is to die for!) and homemade guac with fresh tortilla chips! Gimme gimme gimme some more! And need I remind you folks with so many beers on tap, their happy hour is thirst quenching! Place is clean, vibrant and welcoming as always. Keep it up!

**update** Have been here a few more times and I’m happy to say they’ve improved. The service is a lot friendlier and the playlist has greatly improved. They got a new chef a few months back, so there have been some changes to the menu(and higher prices too). They got rid of the spinach artichoke dip(sadness). And added more«upscale» seeming food and more entrees. All in all this is a huge sports bar where you can go to watch literally any sport(as they have prob 50+ TVs). Above average bar food, slightly overpriced large beer selection and overpriced cocktails($ 13).

Came here for Halloween, which also happened to be a Mets at the World Series game. First impression was that this place was huge! I did not expect a bar in Astoria to be this big. Definitely a wonderful space, lots of tables. We were going to have a fairly large group, and since most of the tables had been reserved, we settled for the outdoor patio, which was well heated. The outdoor patio was nice because it has long community tables, lots of TVs, and was also warm, which in October is a necessity. For Halloween I was surprised that not a lot of people were dressed up. The waitress had told us there was a halloween costume contest(we were all dressed up) yet we never heard about it ever again. Not a big deal. I ordered the mac and cheese burger. No kidding, this is is ginormous! I had to eat it with a fork and knife, which is not my preferred way, but there was no way I was going to get a bite of mac and cheese and a bite of burger out of it unless I sacrificed a shred of dignity. It was a delicious burger. And even using the fork and knife method it was still difficult to get a bite of both. The waitress gave great drink recommendations. I tried a few different seasonal beers and then switch to vodka sodas.

Great place to watch games. They just changed their menu and the food is pretty great. Good atmosphere too. I’ve had the boneless buffalo wings and they were really good. The Mac and Cheese burger is on point. They also have a huge patio with lots of tv’s and during the winter they close it off with heaters. Also decent selection of beer and premium liquor.

I’ve been coming to this sports bar ever since it opened. I went on opening day. I had a blast and been there ever since. Its a really nice place. The décor is modern for a sports bar. They have a lot of tv screens for the sports fanatic. The staff is friendly. They have a lot of seating near the bar and on the other side of the bar. This place is great for groups. They have outdoor benches too. Katch is always having specials and hosting events. I’ve been to the Growing Up Astoria reunion here and it was so much fun. They know what they are doing. I came with a friend last night and was able to catch the NY Giants game. Flippin awesome times especially since they won the game. We ordered weihenstephan, a very great beer. Definitely packed a punch. I didn’t stop there. I ordered a jack daniels and coca cola. It was nice. My friend was hungry and ordered boneless wings. They were crispy, flavorful and my friend enjoyed it very much. We had a great time. I am definitely going back.
