Go with the quesadillas or the chicken burrito! They won’t disappoint. They are amazing.

I eat here probably twice a week since it’s on my way home(for the time being they park right outside the CVS on ditmars blvd). They sometimes go a little heavy on the cilantro, but never enough that I didn’t enjoy my meal. Definitely recommend the quesadillas and the tacos(the burrito was a little more disappointing, I had to eat most of it with a fork because it wouldn’t stay together). The hot sauce is great, just the right amount of heat. The workers are pretty friendly. Decent prices: my most common order, quesadillas, are $ 6.50.

HOLYSH*T! Where to begin. Best Mexican in Astoria. This is the foodstuff of the gods. Pure mana from heaven. Anything you get from this truck is bananas. Please hit it up when walking by. You won’t be disappointed.

On average, I’d say I come here at least once a week(two or three times if I’ve been out a lot), and they’ve never disappointed. I go through burrito phases and taco phases, but no matter what I’ve had, it’s been great. Get the spicy pork(enchilada), or the salted beef(whatever it’s called in Spanish), or the al pastor. Just don’t get it too spicy or it’ll melt your face off like it just did mine 20 minutes ago(and many times before). Still worth it.

Amazing. I have tried the chicken, chorizo and carnitas tacos. All of the tacos I had were delicious. Double layered, cilantro and onions add to the flavorful meat, and they give you complimentary limes, which I always love to squeeze fresh lime juice on my tacos. The red sauce is so spicy, like seriously spicy. I enjoy spicy but it’s WAY too spicy for me. Still really enjoy the tacos. Very flavorful, very authentic Mexican food, and I look forward to eating more of these.

Those who know… go here. Only complaint is these guys frequently don’t open up until after 7pm. That being said super authentic Mexican. Everything is good here. Tostadas are a super bargain at $ 3…piled high and super fresh. This place can be quite addictive. Glad they opened a second one on the Ditmars’ side of Astoria.

So I had visited in the summer & got the burrito, underwhelmed. Came back a week ago & had the tostada(yum!) & the pork tacos. Best tacos I’ve ever had!!! Wow!

I wound loved to have fed my taco craving as I was referred here by a friend but when I went to the address listed online as 30th avenue it wasn’t there. Yet the website says it’s open till 3am. So either the website needs updated or the truck should be where it says.

This is a long time food truck stable of Astoria weekend nights after or during drinks. Once can always count on them being in front of Rite Aid with their cheap options and fast service. Consistency is key for a place like this to make drunkards happy. No matter the weather, they will be there, as will the drunks. Food options are cheap, fast, and hot. You can get chicken, spicy chicken, beef tongue, pork, veggies, anything! Tortas, quesadilas, tacos, nachos, anything! When you’re hungry at 3am, the king is there!

I have a theory that this place’s entire business model is dependent on how drunk the crowd is that night. While I enjoy the people who work the truck, the food is completely inconsistent. It’s almost as though they know they can phone it in the later it gets. I’ve had tortas that I’ve devoured ferociously because they were BOMBAF, but the last two times I’ve ordered quesadillas or burritos, they’ve become so soggy and messy during the preparation that I was hardly able to enjoy them. Once my chicken quesadilla was overloaded with hot sauce(and I like hot sauce) to the point where I was unable to eat my food. As I mentioned, the workers are great and the service is fast, but they need to deliver food that is equally enticing on a more regular basis. I like the freshness of the ingredients, I just wish they could put a little more love into the preparation. But WTF am I saying? They are serving a bunch of drunks after all. We’ll all be back.

Came all the way from Brooklyn to try this. Needless to say I was starving by the time I ordered. Such a disappointment, the tacos were the worst ones I’ve ever had. The meat had no flavor and the tortilla were mediocre. I’ve had better tasting tacos at Taco Bell. I will come again and try their platter which is supposedly their better dish.

Okay so I recently came back to this place with my boyfriend, and I’m writing this review once again with the same amount of stars, and if I could add more I would. Me and my boyfriend have been on the quest to try the best tacos in town. We’ve gone through all the boroughs, and different places. I never bought him to El Rey Del Taco Truck because I didn’t feel it was the right moment too, and being that I was so excited trying new places I didn’t bring it up either, we never even spoke about it. Until one night I just decided to randomly surprise him with a visit to this magnificent taco truck, that I had long been craving. El Rey Del Taco truck never disappoints. It’s by far the heaven of tacos. It’s even better then I remember it. (although that could be because of the person I was with) 1. I’ve tried there other platters but since I haven’t tried them in a while I will come back and update this review with a more recent visit. SOTHISREVIEWWILLBEONTHETACOS. I got 2 tongue tacos. My boyfriend got 2 of the spicy pork. Somehow we got some extra tacos, 2 steak tacos as well. Tongue, is suppose to be soft, tender, and flavorful, but honestly tongue like this is a rare find. What can I say? El Rey Del Taco knows how to make the perfect tongue, it knows how to gourmet the taco too. Spicy pork tacos, SPICYINDEED. No need for sauce, spicy indeed. That’s how you make a spicy taco. I’m not a big fan of steak, it’s good but I don’t really like it in general.

I was expecting some fuego tacos. I made my way here all the way from South Brooklyn, having heard good things about this Taco truck. I was disappointed when I found out that they had no spicy chicken left. But I substituted with another option on the menu. I’ve never had tongue before but when I tried it, it was better than expected. The texture was surprising and there was definitely flavor. These tacos are huge and I didn’t know so I ordered 3 and was stuffed in the end. They definitely do not skimp out on the meat filling. I liked the spicy pork better than the beef taco. I would give half a star for having Boing!(Try this if you haven’t!) Honestly, these tacos were not bad. But they were not amazing. I’ve definitely have had better tasting tacos(5th Ave, Brooklyn!) Seriously go! Onto the next stop in Astoria!

They offer free delivery, they’re on seamless, and they take visa and mastercard. Go with the sincronizada(and add spicy pork), and/or get 3 combination tacos.

Hands down the best tacos you can get in the five boroughs. This ain’t your taco bells, this is the real deal. Okay, I’m Korean-American, so I don’t know jack about authentic tacos… They have raised their prices over the years but that’s business, right? Ugh I’m home now after coming back from here and I’m getting a bit sad. Had 3 lengua(beef tongue) tacos and they were freaking delicious. 5 stars!

Excellent, cheap nachos that taste good sober and even better drunk. I tend to go towards this trunk like a homing pigeon when I’m inebriated and somehow always end up with a spicy tostada in my hands.

Cecina and carnitas tacos, GETINMYBELLY! I sincerely hope you read that in Fat Bastard’s voice. If you didn’t, we can’t be friends. Every New Yorker has a favorite taco truck, one that they will argue is better than the rest. I’m not going to make such a bold statement in this review. Suffice it to say that the tacos and other dishes are made to order, they are fresh, the meat is always tender and juicy, and perfectly seasoned. And if you like hot sauce, definitely have them add some to your order. They also sell various soft drinks, like Jarritos, to wash down all the yummy food you just inhaled.

Everyone’s favorite taco truck. I have never once heard anyone say the full name, or even the street of this truck, they just call it «the taco truck», and everyone automatically knows which one it is. I always get two tacos with extra lime to squeeze all over the(sort of bland) tortillas, and extra sour cream. It’s so freakin’ good, and CHEAP!

A few steps from the Stick and Front Toward Enemy restaurant on Astoria there is a great mini truck that sell excellent Mexican food. Accidentally I and my friends were passing through there, after a Unilocal Elite event when one of my friends told us that he was hungry and that he was on the mood of grabbing a quick snack over here. My friend order five tacos for us, each one ate one. The meats, vegetables, salad and tortillas taste very fresh, and the combination of the taco was excellent, if I am near this area I definitely will come back again.

A few of us happened to walk by this truck after an Elite event nearby and stopped to get some tacos, courtesy of Juan T. And of course, we did what nerdy Elites do… look around the truck for the actual name. Eventually we just searched«taco» on the Unilocal app and were surprised that it actually popped up as the first entry and had a whopping 4.5 star rating! So then, we all checked in, as nerdy Unilocalers would obviously do. «4 other friends are checked in here!» Woohoo… taco time! At $ 3 a pop, these tacos surely aren’t crazy cheap, but they are stuffed to the brim with meat and dripping with juiciness. The corn tortillas were soft and fresh and the al pastor was well seasoned, extremely juicy, flavorful, and cooked nicely. Make sure you ask for a bunch of napkins because it can get a little messy with all the drippings. They have lots of options for sauces — green sauce, hot sauce, sour cream sauce, etc. I want to try the other things like lengua! that this truck offers. I had no idea this truck was even a thing… but I don’t live anywhere near Astoria. It’s nice to know that these little places exist around the city and I can’t wait to explore the rest of the town.
