Closed for winter? Bummer. Other reviews had great things to say and the hours on Unilocal haven’t been updated. DJ’s should try to fix that somehow. We were disappointed to walk up to this after a long drive from Portland(we were visiting the Goonies stuff) to find that it was closed. Some woman, maybe the owner, was talking to a man and I overheard something about, «come back in March.» Super lame. Not sure if I’ll ever make it out to Astoria again. Hope things turn around for DJ’s come springtime. Best of luck

This is straight up good food(my omnivore wife agrees), and it costs a fraction of what you’d pay in a «sit down» establishment for the same quality. It’s one of a group of three very nice food carts in downtown Astoria, and currently the only 100% vegan eatery in all of Clatsop County. I had their«Philly Cheese Steak» sandwich with fries and it was insanely good. The owner was super friendly and chatted with us a bit between orders. It was a typical cool, damp day in Astoria but the food and the hot apple cider kept us plenty warm at the outdoor table. A perfect way to spend an hour or so in town, and the whole thing was under $ 10. This instantly became my favorite food cart, and it’s not even in Portland. Oh well, add it to the list of excuses to visit Astoria in the«off season».

The Mac n cheese was the perfect comfort food for my head cold. I can’t wait to go back and try other things.

As a spoiled vegan from Portland, I was thrilled to see there was a vegan friendly cart in Astoria. When I say that this was the most delicious veggie burger I’ve had that is saying something. I’ve certainly had my fair share of soggy flavorless black bean burgers but the crunchy burger was definitely not that! A flavorful crunchy rice and almond pattie topped with«beer cheese»(actually tastes like cheese instead of overbearing nutritional yeast) and veggies on a bun. We opted for the fries and guys, whatever you are putting on those salty slivers of joy, keep doing it. Definitely worth the stop!

Appreciate having a vegan option in coastal OR. Service was friendly but keep in mind that it’s a 1-man operation so food may take a few minutes to be prepared. I had the phish and chips, which were quite good. Fries were a tad salty. Otherwise an enjoyable meal.

We were so excited to find some vegan food while visiting Astoria. I had the Philly Cheese Steik and my husband had the Crunchy Hippy. They were both good but I’d say the Crunchy Hippy was the fave of the 2. The kale salad and potato salad served with our sandwiches also very good. The lavender lemonade very fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend and visit again if we come back to the area.

On a recent trip to Long Beach WA, from Seattle, we decided to go through Astoria JUST to stop by DJ’s Vinyl Vegan to have some of this amazing vegan food we had been hearing about. I am SO glad we did. The only problem was deciding what to order, so I just kept ordering more and more. I ended up getting the Rager and the Philly Cheese Steik, along with some lavender lemonade, and a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie. Needless to say, it was all gone before we left. The food was absolutely phenomenal(both came with Kale salad and potato salad that were some of the best I’ve ever had) and the service and price was on point. My daughter even had her first Corn Dawg, and ate half while we were there, and the other half when we got to the hotel. She loved it! This will be a definite landmark stop any time we head to the coast. Thanks guys!

Really nice people and really good food! I highly recommend the phish and chips. The beer battered phish was the best vegan seafood I’ve had yet and the fries were great. I also tried some banana bread with coconut cream that was also delicious. We drove over an hour just to check this place out and we were not disappointed!

This is just what you want on a day at the beach: a friendly local place that serves amazing vegan food! We got the Phish n Chips, chili cheese fries, and warm banana bread with coconut butter. The fries were hand cut, and the beer cheese sauce was out of this world! But the star was definitely the phish n chips! So good! The service was friendly. We will be back on our next trip to Astoria. I can’t wait :)

I visited DJ’s Vinyl Vegan food cart in Astoria on their first official day they were open. They were fabulous, the people were friendly! My dining partner and I both got the Sloppy Jane that consisted of house made sunflower sausage, topped with sauteed onions and peppers with their beer cheeze on a scorcher bun. It was delicious. I wish it came with a side, but other than that, awesome!
