Absolutely excellent late night food and better service! The woman who serves food in the back late night is such a pleasure. Everyone here is really nice and I’m really glad that this place is sticking around. The beer list isn’t the best in the ‘hood and beers are a bit pricey but my friends insist we come here after bar hopping for a late night meal before heading home. Never been disappointed! Sitting in the back is the best — I wish they would open the roof like they used to as I haven’t seen it open in recent months.

Original just stopped in to act like we was going to order but just use the bathroom. Lou lou(not sure her name) came over in started taking about 50CENTWINGS& $ 4BEERS, who can pass up that type of bargain? The wings was so flavoring and I dont drink beer but my strawberry cider was so delicious.

Ok — this used to be(3 – 4 years back) THE place to go to watch football on Sunday. The bar and restaurant were packed from noon till dinner time, everyone rooting for their team and enjoying a pretty good beer selection(and decent food, in all honesty). Sadly, this is no longer the case for Brewhouse. The menu isn’t nearly as good, they recently(over the past year or two) hired new bartenders who seem to be pretty limited when it comes to customer service, and to be honest It just seems… dreary and worn out compared to years past. That said, it’s super convenient by the N stop and is still good for a beer or three after work. I wish they’d change things back to the way they were a few years ago and it’d probably be packed on Sundays yet again. (Three stars for nostalgia)

The best thing about this place is the bartenders. They rock. The food is passable. I like the taco salad if you add chicken and/or avocado. Fries are good, skin on and all. They can’t cook meat to temperature to save their lives. Also, they don’t really seem to understand the local trends as far as craft beer goes. But mostly, the buyback policy sucks. Like… SUCKS. I never expect a buyback if I’m a first time visitor. Ever. But if I frequent your establishment, I do expect a certain level of appreciation. Other spots in the neighborhood really do appreciate their regulars. This owner couldn’t give less of a shit.

Love this place. I had my first date here, have had a Paint Nite here and watched many sport events here. Great food, great beer selection, overall great experience. They need more vegetarian options, but cheese quesadilla is always good.

Poor service — waiters seem spaced out. They messed up the order, which was easy for a 3rd grader. Forgot to bring out items. Put random fruit on a waffle… On a strawberry banana waffle… Out of a lot of items on the menu for a Sunday morning!!! You advertise brunch… Coffee sucks that’s like water with dirt!!! Update**** manager was nice enough to come by and apologize for the«inconveniences,» plus Compt a free drink. The bartender made an excellent vegan Bloody Mary from scratch!!! HOWEVER, our WAITER as he gave us the check made a very passive aggressive comment about the strawberryless waffle– noted in the original review.

Came here once 3 – 4 years ago for my cousin’s birthday and came here again with a friend since I work in the neighborhood. We grabbed the appetizer sampler(calamari, potato skins, and chicken fingers) which was pleasant for the cost and a couple of drinks that were $ 6 bucks and normally $ 10 when its not happy hour. I noticed the bar did become lower scale when looking back from a few years back as they used to offer more variety on tap and higher end IPAs. Still the service was pretty friendly so I gotta give them that.

My on and off again relationship with this place continues. It’s proximity to me always seems to win out over any reservations I have about the place. I have come to accept what this place is and what it isn’t. If you go there for a drink or a decent bite to eat knowing it’s not cheap then you’re fine. If you’re looking for really cheap happy hour food and drink you’ve come to the wrong place. They do have drink specials daily(beer of the day will be $ 4 or $ 5) and a good brunch menu with unlimited open bar for 2 hours for an extra $ 14. There are better specials but it’s fair. Sarah who works most weekday and weekend days is a great bartender, very friendly and cool to hang out with on a lazy afternoon.

Astoria Brewhouse is never my go to bar, it’s just convenient, and they have bleu cheese fries that cause me to salivate when I’m not having them. They’re a bit pricey? Only late night special is piss beer, but the shot of Jack is awesome. $ 7 for the pair. The servers are always horrible– dull, dry, boring– but last night, they had who I believe was a new server? Her name was Shannon. She was adorable, quirky upbeat, and held a conversation. That’s a true server. Get more Shannon’s and I’ll be around more often.

Do not come here, if you can help it. Had a reservation for 16 for brunch and were seated in the patio, our party put in our order and after waiting about an hour our appetizers came shortly after our entrees came in waves. When I say waves, we got our food in four different waves, that came 20 – 30 minutes per wave. There was one horrible waiter serving us and a handful of other tables. If they knew a big party was coming they should have planned accordingly as the place wasn’t that busy overall. After the last wave of food came, my niece still didn’t get her order(a burger) which we checked on multiple times and then was told by the waiter that he didn’t remember taking that order. He was defensive about having to take 20 people’s orders at once… um, isn’t that your job? After the unapologetic response, I called in a burger order from a reliable spot near by which by far surpassed the quality of food and service here. Stay away if you like good service and food.

How can you call yourself a brewhouse with such a limited selection of beer? There are much better places to eat and drink in Astoria within a block radius. My friend went to the restroom at some point, and some drunk guy sitting a few seats away stole his full pint glass. The bartender did not believe him when he came back, rudely said something along the lines of «I’m sure it just disappeared into your stomach» before reluctantly pouring him another. Don’t bother with this place, everything about it is sloppy.

The beer was cold. So were the Nachos with their unmelted cheese and complete lack of beans. Menus were withered with beer stains and not updated. And the beers on them were boring ranging from Budweiser to Guinness… Not very brewhousy. I blame whoever doesn’t manage the place.

Don’t bother. So what they have an «outdoor» space. There are much better places to eat in Astoria. Terrible and excruciatingly slow service. During brunch there were only 2 staff working the entire place. Food didn’t arrive, drinks didn’t arrive and the waitress questioned whether or not one of our party still wanted her meal. Duh, we came to eat so yes we still want the food; just because you didn’t put the order into the kitchen. Oh and don’t forget the waitress who had to assert that«she’s from brooklyn» as she got nasty with another one of our party. And to seal the deal, hit with 20% tip because there were 9 of us. Don’t eat here.

Was there Saturday night for a birthday party. In order to book the back room there was a $ 30 cover for everyone attending. This included an open bar, but what if some people didn’t want the open bar? Everyone paid as we were there to celebrate a birthday and have fun. You would expect great service after having 30 people at $ 30 each. Plus 20% gratuity. That’s close to $ 1200. What we got were watered down drinks and long wait times for beer and simple cocktails. The servers claimed that the bartenders were new and couldn’t do much about it. Around 3am the birthday girl goes to the bar for a shot. After 20 minutes of waiting at an empty bar, the bartender gets frustrated for being called on twice and asks for her ID. Who ID’s at 3:30 am after being there for 5 hours and having been the person who booked the room to celebrate their 26th birthday. Thank you Astoria Brewhouse for making the birthday person upset and providing horrible service after taking all our money.

Stopped by here a few more times since my last review and I really like the neighborhood feel of this place. I came late during trivia night and like the fact that it’s not as noisy as some of the other bars in the city. I ordered the wings and sliders, which was a perfect late evening snack. They always seem to have a happy hour or beer special going on for one of the domestic beers like Yuengling.

My BF and I lived in Astoria for a year, and I would say that in that time, we probably ate here every other Sunday night. Seriously. I would always work the monster brunch shift at a busy restaurant on the UES, and I would need a fast, strong cocktail and something yummy after watching other people eat delicious omelets and bitch at me for 8 hours. I’ve never reviewed this place, only because it was such our local that I never thought of it. Our usual was to arrive around 6pm on a Sunday, and I would immediately order an old fashioned and the BF would get a Sam Adams on tap. I think it was usually $ 6 a drink. We would then almost always order medium wings, a burger with house salad, and an order of blue cheese fries and share everything! Medium wings always crispy and spicy enough that you enjoy the blue cheese, house salad vinaigrette delicious with spring mix greens, and the burger? Best in the city. Seriously. It was always cooked perfectly, juicy, not too much bun… always a winner. And the bleu fries? Garlic and cheese and salt. With one more cocktail per person, our bill was never over $ 60. Service was always swift and great. Literally, the ONLY criticism I have is that I thought the dessert menu could use a little revamp. Like for some reason, I always wanted a cookie after dinner, and would want to find a bakery… But other than that, this place is an awesome, solid bar… and now I’m hungry for that burger.

An Irish beer & a shot of whiskey or tequila for $ 7? Sign me up! A random night of drinking in Astoria led me and my friends to Astoria Brewhouse. It had good reviews on Unilocal, was within walking distance, so why not? To be completely honest, it might have been the sign outside with said special that got me. Here’s the deal: — Your local neighborhood bar that has that genuine«bar» feel versus club/lounge. — I must say service at Astoria Brewhouse is great! Not only are the bartenders friendly and very attentive, but they are on their sh*t. You can guarantee as soon as you place an order you will have a drink in your hand in no time. — AB has a huge layout where you can meet up with a rather large group of friends, enjoy a beer, and watch a game on TV. — Standard American bar food items available for consumption. — Nobody goes there for the music. I heard everything from pop to punk to country while I was there. No fixed genre of music. — On a Saturday evening the place wasn’t crowded.

I came here with a friend for Paint Nite. We got there early and we sat down to have a drink. The wait staff was very nice and helpful. He was very attentive to everyone that were part of the Paint Nite. He brought all the drink orders and food orders to everyone correctly and in a good time manner.

Wedged between two pubs without food, you’d figure they might garner a bit more runoff as a food option. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of reasons to come here beyond having an average burger. A few times I’ve been here the Guinness has tasted off, which is really disappointing. Clean lines are a sign of a place that cares about their beer. I’ll continue to give these guys a shot, but it’s not the first option if I’m nearby and want a quick bite to eat.

++ — Signature salad is great and pretty sizeable — Good beer selection — Wings were cooked very well + — Calamari was good too — Appetizers come in big portions — Good place to have a party, it was pretty empty on a Saturday night around 9and our unannounced party was able to be seated immediately. We took up half the place — The fries seemed to get good reviews from all members of party — Karaōke was going on at the time, seemed like a good time - — A person in our party was not a fan of the burger
