This store is wonderful. The owner, Tim, is fantastic. The price is very reasonable considering this is Aspen. I highly recommend this place for all of your eyewear needs.

Tim helped us out when the frames of my husband’s glasses snapped this past August during a trip to Aspen. Within a few days, he got him a new pair in his prescription — better looking and more comfortable than his old ones. THANK YOU, TIM!

If every business owner was as excellent as Tim the business world would always be a fun and fair experience. Living inAspen I buy everything online but my glasses because of Tim. Plus if I ever bend/​break them he takes care of you!
To address the prices, this is something I have to explain to visitors all the time, even if Aspen wasn’t a luxury resort destination the prices would still be above MSRP simply because shipping to Aspen is ridiculous. If I didn’t get free shipping from Amazon Prime I wouldn’t be able to get anything easily!

Horrible store. Horrible owner. The store has a hidden NO REFUND return policy buried on thier sales slip. I bought a $ 500 pair of glasses, with the understanding that they could be return. The owner said sure you can return it, but you get only get a store credit, and I don’t live in Aspen.

I visited Tim for the first time a few weeks ago to get a few pairs of children’s glasses. After speaking to him for a short while, I could tell he really knew what he was talking about. My husband has been having a few problems with his first pair of glasses in 15 years (he’s been wearing contacts) and after taking them to the crappy chain we got them from twice to be fixed, I thought it would be best to ask Tim to take a look. I had the glasses FedEx’d to me and Tim adjusted them the best he could without my husband present. The glasses were much better after Tim’s tinkering, but he could only do so much with such horrible lenses. We decided to bite the bullet and buy new lenses with Tim, and I’m so glad we did. My husband can actually see without getting a headache and seeing crazy colours. I would recommend Tim to anyone and everyone, and plan on sending him some sunglasses from my home in Florida to put prescription lenses in. Yes, he’s that good.

I popped in for a routine fix of my glasses and got attentive, pleasant service. I’d happily go back.

Wish I could post no stars. The rudest man I’ve spoken to in Colorado. I used to say «all Coloradans are so sweet». I was recommended to go to him for a glasses adjustment and instead of politely declining he gave me the most smug response. No business for you from any of my family or friends who are regulars in Aspen.

Great service — fixed my glasses while I waited. Excellent selection of eyewear. Added bonus: shop owner loves hockey.

There is nothing worse than having to deal with with an unexpected need for eyewear when on the road for business or pleasure. You have little to no knowledge of your options, have to take away from the limited time available and can only hope for the best.
Lucky for me and now for others who may find themselves in this situation in the Aspen/​Snowmass area that Optical Options and specifically, owner Tim are available to save the day!
The superior customer service started with the initial phone call, continued when I walked through the door with frames squarely busted in half from a nice little fall taken on the slopes (nothing else broken but maybe a bruised ego :)
) and came to an incredible finale when I walked out twenty minutes later with lenses placed in a fantastic new frame! Oh yeah, and just to top it off, he provided me what he called his St. Patricks Day discount to boot!

We love supporting independent businesses when they merit it, and Optical Options fills both bills. Tim is a perfectionist, and that’s a good trait to find in just about any business. After having many bad experiences in our former home town, it was so refreshing to find someone who takes great pride in their craft and doesn’t expect the customer to settle for less. The glasses Tim has made for us look like jewel-​work in their precision.
Nothing is cheap in Aspen but his frame price was competitive with online sources (even a tad less) and it would be hard to compare lens prices since he uses the most cutting-​edge high-​quality materials, features and lab-​work. He is also well set up to check and confirm that a prescription is accurate, which turned out to be very helpful in one of our cases.
Also important, he does not push extra spending. He will honestly tell you that you don’t need this or that, and is sensitive to a customer’s attitude, especially if there’s any hesitation in making a decision.
Finally, as other reviews mention, Tim is a one-​man entertainment system! He can tell you anything you want to know about Aspen (and more…)

I highly recommend Optical Opticians. Visiting Aspen from California and when my glasses broke took them here and I was back in business in minutes. Great customer service!

Great little optical shop with a nice selection of sunglasses as well. The prices are competitive but the real edge is the service from Tim the proprietor who moved west from Chicago to open the place 20 years ago. Friendly and knowledgeable, he is a one man tourist bureau for the local attractions.

If you want the best optical experience, then you must stop by Optical Options. The owner, Tim, was an absolute pleasure, who guided us to an adventurous day in Aspen. Not only did Tim repair my sunglasses to pristine condition, which were falling apart and lopsided, he made them feel like new. Check this place out for great spectacles, knowledgable service, and local color :)

Just picked up another pair of wonderful Etnia frames. They were able to provide me with some new 2012 lenses that remove the fish-​eye effect (for high Rx). They were able to get my lenses set and the new glasses sent to me by the weeks end.
To sum up my experience … Perfection!
