Good bar staff, decent burger, they opened earlier than any other restaurant. Close to all the shopping. Give it a try while you’re in town !

Good food, however slow service given the excessive number of people working. That being said, our waiter was very nice and personable.

My family and I happened to be hungry at just the right time during our recent visit to Ashland. The food was delicious, but the service was the most attentive and gracious that I have seen in a long time. We were invited in by a nicely dressed young man at the front door and We ate lunch at a beautiful outdoor table along the creek. The owner stopped by to greet us and all the guests dining with her that day. Thanks Louie’s for helping to make our vacation time in Ashland that much more special.

My wife and I wanted to get out on the motorcycle for a date night. I wanted to take her somewhere that we’ve never eaten at before, so we rode to Ashland. We walked the strip near Lithia park. Louie’s had a door greeter who was very up-beat and excitable. She told us all about the menu and how Louie’s used to be a biker bar«back in the day.» We continued walking, but nothing peaked our pallets like the menu at Louie’s did. We walked back and went inside. Immediately we were greeted by the door greeter again and she showed us to our seats. The bar was dimly lit, which made a good atmosphere for relaxing and enjoying a night out. It wasn’t loud and the tables and chairs were very clean. I ordered the«Grizz» which satisfied me completely, my wife ordered the«Recession» with fries. We also ordered some appetizers: Feta Fries & Mozzarella Sticks. The appetizers were AMAZING! We totally tore up those Feta Fries! It’s like a garlic cheese sprinkled on fries. REALLY good! The waitress refilled my drink almost the moment it went empty, which was about 4 times. She came over to make sure we like our appetizers and two more times during dinner to make sure that we were enjoying our food. Amazing service, great food and a really nice place. I never make it a habit of going to Ashland and I’ve only eaten on that strip twice in 40 years, but I’ll definitely make Louie’s a favorite place to eat. Our total bill would have been about $ 20, if we hadn’t ordered two appetizers, which we couldn’t finish ALL that food anyways, so their prices are fabulous as well! Way to go, Louie’s! Way to go!

I LOVE Louies! It’s my understanding that they’ve changed their menu in recent years, we’ve been going here for about a year and it’s always awesome. They use lots of organic ingredients and have vegetarian options, plus it’s affordable. I love the old woodwork and mirrors inside, and I’ve always had great service(unlike many other places in this town). We get take out frequently as well and the food is always good. Highly recommended!

Dinner for 2, $ 45 plus tip. We both had the Jack Daniel’s Burger although only one of us ordered it. The burgers were not scrumptious. Thin 1⁄16th oz. pre-pressed patties, low quality cheese slices… I will just say a Carl’s Jr. Burger is far better, and I don’t even like Carl’s Jr. The mozzarella cheese sticks are the same quality as the boxed TGI Fridays at about 4 times the cost, maybe 5 times. Their beer selection is very small for a pub these days with. Once upon a time this may have been a good joint but these days it’s a lower shelf joint. It’s clean and looks the part, but… That said, the service is really good and the staff is quite friendly, they are not at all the problem with this place, it’s the the food vs price. Should have been no more than $ 25 plus tip.

Pretty good spot with average food. But please don’t get me wrong; in my book average food is good food, satisfying food. I wish I could give them a 3.5. Definitely a good choice for eating on a budget with a family, as well. Servers are also very nice about customizing orders for picky eaters. Recession burger is good for the price. The only other place in Ashland to get a legitimate six dollar burger is the panda Chinese restaurant. But if you are willing to venture to Medford, I should inform you that for the exact same price, you can get a better burger with bacon on it at Jasper’s… Last time we went, I decided to deviate from my usual burger order and get the salmon sandwich. The fish was good but the bread was all wrong in my humble opinion. It was too spongey. I would prefer a heartier bread with more chew since the fish is so soft. I also thought that for the price the piece of fish should have been a little bigger. I will be going back to recession burger in the future. One last comment is about the service. Sometimes the servers are a little too social and take too long gabbing with friends and we run out of water. I know it is probably because they are just really young. Maybe a simple rule to check on waters every certain amount of minutes pay help them stay on task?

Mom & I had the southwest wrap. YUM! This was heaven. They also upgraded my drink for free since it was my birthday. Friendly staff! Great price. Also, try the recession cheesecake! For under $ 2 it it served perfectly portioned in a shot glass! My new favorite place to eat

Sadly I ordered a gluten free bun for my pesto tofu but was served a regular bun. I ate 3 bites in my hunger hurry before it dawned on me that it was not gluten free. When I questioned my server, she abruptly acknowledged that it was not GF& grabbed my plate & rushed it back to the kitchen. I was left to feel like it was somehow my fault. The sandwich that came back to me(with now cold fries) was very dry & tasteless. Wow Louie’s– no apology or compensation for the price I will pay in a next hours with my Celiacs!!!

My godfather and I come to Ashland every year for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and I am so glad we found Louie’s. Not only are they dietary-friendly with a designated vegetarian and gluten-free menu, but they are also incredibly flexible with substitutions, so they were able to accommodate my vegan diet no problem. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the food was fantastic. I got the vegan black bean burger and it was without a doubt the best black bean burger I’ve ever had. It was flavorful, crisp, and healthy. Seriously, the best I’ve ever eaten. Their french fries are also to die for. Plus, the owner herself came out to greet us and make sure we liked our meal. Then, when the weather turned chilly, she personally offered her outdoor-seated patrons blankets to keep warm. Delicious food, alternative diet friendly, plus attentive and thoughtful staff and owner? Louie’s has made a customer for life in me.

Very, very sub par. We came in after being told this place had the best burgers in Ashland. The regular burger was dry, hard — not at all what generally encompasses a good burger. I had the black bean veggie burger — it crumbled apart and tasted more like a dry cracker than a burger. I had the side caesar with it, which tasted like it came out of a box. I will say the sweet potato waffle fries were pretty good, so if you’re only looking for a fried appetizer you’ll probably be fine. Anything else, keep looking.

I have to admit, that when I visit Ashland, I do love splurging on its many fine dining establishments. So even though I visit a couple times a year, I had never eaten at Louie’s. Since this visit was more casual with my teen son in tow, we actually dined at Louie’s twice on this visit. First, for lunch on their back patio. Then the following day for dinner inside by the bar, since all the outdoor seating was full. I was pleasantly surprised by both the food and the check. It turned out to be one of the better options for casual dining, especially with kids, in the heart of downtown. For lunch, I had the Crispy Southwest Wrap which includes guacamole and salsa and a side of kettle chips. Then for dinner, I had the Recession Burger and upgraded the standard fries to sweet potato fries. Their menu was great because it covers the basics(sandwiches, wraps and burgers), then has a many ways to substitute or add items to get just what you want. They also have a Kids Menu and I love that it was for ‘Kids of All Ages,’ so if you want a smaller meal as an adult you can get it. Also, in addition to their basic food and drink menus, they also have vegetarian and gluten-free menus, so really all the bases are covered. For drinks, I had a different cocktail with each meal. For lunch a Mojito and for the evening meal a Lavender Lemon Drop. At $ 5.99 they were reasonably priced and my favorite was the LLD which I’d definitely order again. I have a strong preference for dining outside along Lithia Creek. The waiters did a good job of setting up umbrellas on a hot day although it did take us awhile to get service and others in our area experienced the same issues. The indoor space is much darker and quite dated. There were two TVs in the bar, but neither was turned on while we were there. This review is really a 3.5 since it was a solid restaurant choice(twice) for a casual meal, but not the kind of place that will spring to mind when I recommending restaurants to others.

Excellent service, great atmosphere and delicious food. Really enjoyed the ‘Flame Grilled Chicken Breast Fillet’ sandwich! Also, the kettle chips were delicious! Extremely inexpensive for such good quality food! I will definitely be coming back for more!

I witnessed a Pacific Crest Hiker trekking North from Campo to Canada be denied services because the employee said she didn’t feel comfortable serving him due to him looking homeless. The nice gentleman explained he was not homeless and was a PCT hiker that just trekked into this city to resupply and eat. She continued to stick to her grounds that she didn’t feel comfortable feeding him. He was so humbling that he smiled and walked out. What kind of people work here to have that right to unfairly judge someone? Not only did she perceive him wrong but probably humiliated him. To ALLPCT Hikers going into Ashland Oregon for resupply or to finally have a hot meal after trekking 26 miles he said, and to ALLPCT Hikers friends and family spread the word to these wonderful hikers to absolutely DONOT support this business.

Good location and ambience. However, not so great food: burger patties were okay, Salmon sandich was okay.

This is a message to the owners and managers of Louie’s. Some of us live here in Ashland and walk past your store a couple of times a day going about our daily business. You’ve got this«barker» thing going with employees touting your place and trying to get customers in the store. Walk a dog and they invite you to sit on the patio. Sometimes I think I’m on the midway and you’re running a strip club, at the very least try to recognize individual faces and leave those of us that you recognize alone.

I love coming to Louie’s! I’ve watched the last two World Cups here(as I don’t have TV) and even when there’s no soccer to watch I like stopping by for a quick bite. The service is friendly and the food is pretty quick. Plus, you count on them to have some great music playing! Recession burger is a go to! Great deal, good burger. Personally, I’ve always been excited to find mini corn dogs on the menu. I recently tried the coconut chicken on rice and was surprised how delicious it was! Very tasty. And of course, their wraps are a great pick too. They have a few good beers on tap and plenty of other beverage options too. And don’t forget to try one of their mini desserts– the perfect sized sweet treat!

Do not waste your time or money here. You will wish you had gone to a grocery store and made your own food. Here is why: «Wild Alaskan Salmon» 11.99– really gross frozen and microwaved dish. The fish is colorless and flavorless and tiny. Brown rice is unseasoned and bland, and I tasted mold in my salad. I wished I could throw it up and pretend it never happened. Kids«Chicken strips» is actually one chicken strip. My daughter was really hungry and said she ordered it because she wanted more than one chicken strip. Disappointed and deceived. The ketchup is old and fermented. They must not wash out the containers and fill fresh ketchup, instead adding new ketchup atop old fermented ketchup. We even swapped with another table, still sour :-( «Southwest chicken wrap» 9 $ would expect some flavor, some kick, but just gross bland absolutely most terrible wrap I’ve ever had. These are simple inexpensive items that can easily be done well but they just take advantage of their foot traffic and cut corners to maximize profits. Shameful
