While I definitely would not go to this place with high coffee expectations, I absolutely cannot get enough of their bagels. Cannot. Their jalapeño cheddar is to die for without having too much of a kick, and their sprouted wheat hiker bagels would please almost any human. They manage to stay moist but still have that great outer bagel layer that’s fun to chew. My favorite thing is that you can also pick up their bagels in other stores. I love how I can grab a single or a pack of their bagels at the Ashland Food Co-op if I can’t make it to the shop in time or just don’t want to run to multiple places during my day. Their prices are beyond affordable, their shop is adorable, and there is plenty of parking since it’s in a great plaza. I definitely recommend any of their bagels for a great breakfast or snack. Also make sure that you have a pack of their bagels on hand for when you don’t want to leave the house. They have an impressive shelf life.

The bagels are good. They are almost great, actually. If this were a bagel test I’d give them a B+. The«hikers» are some of the best as is the chocolate chip one. However. Some of the employees are moody and uncooperative; the only exception is the dude with the hat with the colorful logo on it. The other big problem common to this place is the severe lack of coffee. The pots are almost always out. You are lucky if there is one flavor left, let alone the actual choice of 4 that is advertised. It is kind of a disgrace if you ask me. Drip coffee does not take very long to prepare, period. This again reflects a problem with the staffing. It doesn’t make much sense in this college town with so many people needing a job. I feel like it would behoove the management to be a tad more discerning with their hires.

I love The Little Shop. The food is affordable and delicious. They work hard to provide good, quality, local and organic ingredients. They support local farms and businesses. The employees are very nice. They always recognize me when I go in and greet me with a smile. One time an employee gave me tons of free veggies because they had too much! The food tastes great. I am addicted to the«Mexican» cream cheese. It is stuffed full of red onions and peppers. The atmosphere is great too. They recently added on — a nice outdoor seating area with lattice and a closing wooden gate. Me n’ my dog love that. Thank you guys so much!

Yesterday my wife and I with my daughters recommendation went to have open face bagels and lox, to say the least it was fantastic. we’ve lived in Ashland 22 years. own a business in Ashland and couldn’t wait to share the news with my clients about how great it was. all quality ingredients and a perfect balance of we went back again today, and it turned out to be a horrible way to start the day. asked for my bagel to be well done, she noted that on my order, we get our food bagel was not toasted only heated to the point where it tasted day old. all the ingredients were stacked in the wrong order so, even with a knife and fork it was a mess to eat and fell apart, there was so much cream cheese I could not discern any of the other ingredients. brought it to the attention of the girl at the register who took my order no response about bagel not being toasted, completely ignored my statement. but to the issue of the ingredients put together in such disorder that it was inedible, was a classic, she said each girl makes them different and walked away. will not go back for another twenty two years. she was unprofessional and didn’t give a hoot. i’ve had bagel and lox all my life and this was completely unacceptable. and so was the girl at the register. We’ll now skip ahead three weeks, daughters in town so we went back with her, ordered the lox and cream cheese again and it was perfect, even loved the roasted sesame seeds we I guess a Saturday may be good. if I get daring maybe I’ll give Sunday’s another chance.

3 things: 1. You know you’re singing the name. 2. Loved the setup, selection, and the coffee is excellent to boot! 3. The bagels themselves are very good — and I’d go back — but they fall just short of excellent. I’ve had slightly better. But I would still have trouble resisting going back the next time I’m in town!

I’ve been gluten free almost 13 years and this is the best gluten free bagel I’ve ever had! Thank you!

A good selection of bagels and cream cheese. If you are getting lox, get it with flavored cream cheese

I still love these bagels. best and only(?) place to get bagels in Ashland, def. best in Southern Oregon. However… there is a strange girl that works the counter most days, especially Sunday who can’t seem to get it right. She is super unfriendly and cannot for the life of her get a simple order right. They have to can this chick! I’ll give you another star or 2 if I don’t ever see her again! Also: serve your eggle bagel all day instead of until 11 or 12… lots of people get up for a late breakfast on Saturday/Sunday and you’re a bagel shop. Your other sandwiches are packed with far too many ingredients to ever eat like an actual sandwich– eggle bagel is the only one that works.

Ran in just long enough to get a cheese/garlic bagel with cream cheese, but man was it good. Had lots of cream cheese on it which i LOVE. Wish I lived closer so I could try more items!

Fast, cheap, organic quality, super friendly. Loved it. They have a ton of choices for a simple bagel shop. And they hand roll the bagels on site

I just absolutely love this place. It’s not a major chain, but a local family-owned and run place. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff is just adorable. I am a regular there, and as long as I live in Ashland I will always be a regular at the Little Shop of Bagels. :-)

A little pricey for a bagel with cream cheese… I wouldn’t bring the whole family. I took my fellow Unilocalers advice and ordered the sprouted wheat bagel with plain cream cheese and avocado; YUMMY! $ 4.35 *sadness* We also ordered a chocolate chip with plain cream cheese; it had a ridiculous amount of cream cheese even by my standards(it was enough to cover another bagel) $ 3. Also, the«day old bagels» were a much better deal… I purchased a 4-pack for $ 3 and they were scrumptious after they were toasted. I literally couldn’t tell the difference between these day old ones and the one we had fresh *BIG Smiles* Side note: The art hung throughout the shop is something worth taking some time to view. Various artist have their works on sale and I ended up buying 2 prints by the artist«Micah». Then I went to pay for them and found that THECASHIER is also THEARTIST?! What the… How cool is that?!

Fresh and chewy– perfect light breakfast/snack. They have a wide variety of choices on hand — and even though they didn’t offer exactly the line-up I’m used to in other bagel bakeries — they are similar enough that I found an onion-Swiss, and a cheddar-jalapeño to satisfy my cheesy-tooth, and their hiker(?) was almost an «everything» bagel(my fave!) The house cream cheese was whipped and perfect on our bag of toasted bagels — that were still warm when we got back to the hotel. I love the organic goal, and I know how difficult it is for a bakery to hit the 100%-organic mark. That they hit above 99% is evidence of the care they’re putting into their chewy wares.

Best bagels I’ve ever had. Period. That said, though, this isn’t the fanciest place and it’s certainly not the cleanest either. One annoying thing I’ve found is that no matter how much I stress I only want a little bit of cream cheese, I always get way more than I want. It’s gotten to the point where I simply don’t get cream cheese.

Stopping before hitting the road again, my family and I stopped in for breakfast. We got some fresh bagels, a bag from their«day old» shelf, and a dish of cream cheese. The day old bagels were a great value, 4 for just $ 2 and they were just as tasty as the fresh ones. The bagels themselves are cheap, but when you start adding toppings the price get hiked up. I also wish the fresh bagels were given to you warm and toasty. The sun dried tomato cream cheese was good as expected. The bagels were chewy and grainy, they are filling and not just the little dinky white flour bagels. In conclusion, it is a good place to stop. It’s not the best value, but it’s an affordable and tasty breakfast option.

There is nothing so divine as a simple breakfast featuring bagels made from fresh organic and local ingredients. Made extra great by the fact that the prices will not cause you to cry out in agony or force you to debate whether to eat or pay rent …

I am just absolutely in love with this little bagel café! Local, fresh, and DELICIOUS. Fresh-made cream cheese and loads of sandwich options. I usually come here on the weekends, grab a mug of coffee(less expensive than a to-go cup), and have a toasted bagel for lunch. I’ll usually also pick up a half-dozen bagels and a tub of their fresh cream cheese as well — YUM! ^_^ The prices are a little higher than grocery store bagels and cream cheese, however I find these are far more delicious and the bagels last at least twice as long as store-bought bagels — because they’re baked daily. They also sell yesterday’s bagels in bags at a discounted price :)

This place. This place… is… This place… is…a… straight up CURE for hangovers. I used to drag my hungover butt there before it closed and stuff, I literally mean stuff my face with bagel and coffee. Through my puffed up old makeup covered eyes I would somehow manage to stumble over there and sphew out an order and pull out the crumpled dollars out of my pockets. Those poor employees. They probably watch the drunk people stumble home at 5am while they are inside making those scrumptious bagels. They know they will just be coming in a couple hours down the road demanding their hangover curing bagels. I bless them for the work they do. They have saved me from many and I do mean MANY bad mornings.
