Wedding Inspirations

I did not know looking for my wedding dress was going to turn into a huge, time consuming ordeal. With that said, now that I have visited what feels like every shop within a 200 mile radius of Asheville (and in a couple other states!), I feel compelled to review shops I went to, since I clearly had no idea what I was getting into and my experience at each shop ranged from awful to fantastic. Wedding Inspirations was the first shop I went to, and it was an awesome place to start. I had NO idea what I wanted (didn’t really look online and don’t have a Pinterest), but Elena and Taylor were so so so helpful, friendly, and patient. As we went through the appointment and I was trying on the dresses I picked out, Elena pulled a dress I would never have picked, but I ended up loving it (and it was on sale!). Since it was the first store I had been to, I ended up shopping around and ultimately found my dress elsewhere, but this store is not to be missed if you are looking for a wedding dress. The ladies at this store really know their stuff, and the store has a great selection. I had a great experience and really appreciated their friendliness and patience.

I bought my wedding dress AND bridesmaid dresses from here. Brittany Metcalf has been my consultant, and she has been amazing to work with. She is very knowledgeable about the dresses and what will look good on what type of body. I recommend her to anyone looking for wedding attire!
Also, the dresses they have in the store are beautiful. They also have in-​store tailors who fit the dresses on site.

As the place I went for my first fitting I was really happy with the service I received. They have a decent selection of dresses and they have a good sample sale section. They split the cost of dry cleaning the sample sale dresses if you decide on one like I did. Cassidy, the woman that helped me was not a pushy sales person and was helpful in getting me into the dresses. I really liked that I didn’t feel pressured!

I was impressed with the beautiful store. The lady who helped me really knew her stuff. All-​in-​all it was a very good experience. I did think that over $ 100 for a sash was a bit on the expensive side. Also, after deciding on it in December, the sash didn’t arrive until April even though it was promised for 2 months later (which I already thought was a long wait for just a sash). That was a bit frustrating since I had dress fittings in February and March without the sash. I think that they probably waited to order items together to avoid extra shipping costs. My advice to the store would be to order items as they are purchased. No need to have mediocre reviews on Unilocal because of it…

The markups on prices here are incredible. I know they have overhead, but why would I want to spend $ 500 more than I need to on the same wedding dress. Also, one of their employees is incredibly snarky and rude. Honestly, if you want me to pay over $ 1,000 for a dress I’m going to wear once, then you’d better treat me with some respect.
