Juicy Lucy’s Burger Bar and Grill

Wow! One of my new favorite restaurants in Asheville. I am an unapologetic foodie and I love this burger joint. They have gluten free buns and local, grass fed bison burgers. The onion rings were huge and perfect. I got a wedge salad that was also very good. The server was extremely nice and the service was quick. The homemade shakes were very tempting, but with such generous portions, I just couldn’t do it. Well done from top to bottom. I will be back very soon!

Some of the best burgers in town! We were there on 6÷4÷16 for my wife’s Birthday. I had the June special Juicy Lucy Fried Pickle Burger, and it was astounding! The Adult Milkshakes (with liquor) are very thick, and very tasty. Neither our server, nor the bartender even blinked when I asked for a change from a menu shake to a custom one. Sea Salt Carmel with white and dark Godiva added instead of Kahlua.
Lots of TVs with all different games being shown, but this is not distracting, unless your team is playing! Everyone was very nice, funny, and professional.
Giving them a full 5 star review with the caveat of… THE FRENCH FRIES ARE TERRIBLE! Get the Onion Rings, or Sweet Potato Fries instead, and you should have a 5 star experience as well!

While the food here is good, and ambiance what you would of expect of a large burger joint, the service is what really made the trip for us. Unfortunately, I can’t remember our first server’s name, but the one who took over for her halfway through our meal was named Autumn and she was awesome. Great sense or humor, friendly, willing to give us all sorts of recommendations about where to go in Asheville, etc…
If you’re looking for a relatively quick meal, reasonable prices and good food, this is a good choice!

Great burger joint with plenty of options for everyone. So much other stuff in menu looked tempting, but wound up with burgers. You definitely get your money’s worth! Nice, relaxed atmosphere. Corrina was a fabulous waitress. Very attentive, helpful, and friendly. We had the Screaming Shrimp, Cowboy bacon burger, bison burger, and the Funnel Fries for dessert. Portions are very big. Excellent food. Seen some reviews that were panning the buns. The buns are big, but taste fine.

This place is pretty good. It has a nice atmosphere and a very nice indoor and outdoor seating area with cornhole and umbrellas. The wait staff was a little confused in the beginning when 3 different waitress were taking drink orders. However, they were all very nice.
We ordered the Gyro with the corn tortilla and house salad which was cooked very good. I had the lamb one and it was pretty good, not the best Gyro ever but not bad. The salad wasn’t that good but overall not bad. I hope the burgers make up for the rest.

Love the burgers here but the buns can be a little too much… They make them fresh in-​house which is nice, but they are often thick. Best things in the menu are the burgers (you don’t have to get them stuffed for them to be awesome) and I LOVE their fried green bean fries. The staff is usually on top of things and the overall ambiance is good for families with young kids. Take out is a great option for this place too!
Fav burger is Red White and Blue burger!!! Yum

Everyone has their own favorite and opinion… But if someone asked me where to get a burger this would be where I sent them.
If you like your burger done medium, I suggest the Juicy Lucy burger. They melt cheese INSIDE the patty. Then use your imagination. Put another cheese on top… There are all kinds of options for what you can add to the burger. Tonight, I had mozzarella and cheddar with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and fried onions. Once everything is stacked, it’s almost too thick to take a bite from. THAT’S what I look for when I order a burger.

I have stopped in several times while in Asheville. They have awesome burgers and the salad & homemade chili I had tonight was wonderful. Good backyard cooking dinner right! The drink menu has a good selection of draft beers as well as summer fun adult drinks! Let’s not forget the outstanding service.

Unique Burger made famous in Minneapolis and duplicated very well here! Big, juicy and was very flavorful. No way you leave there hunger after eating this burger!
Home made French Fries and lots of them (enough to share)!
Home made Onion Rings and a great chipotle ranch dipping sauce!
Chicken Wings Cowboy Style — holy smokes folks this dish was mind blowing!
Hand made strawberry milkshake!
Server was named Mark and this guy was truly incredible. This rating is just as much him as it is the food honestly! He really made this dining experience fun.
Special hint… get the juicy lucy burger and then get some pimento cheese on top of it. The pimento cheese is homemade and is so dreamy and delicious!
If you are in the area and haven’t tried this place, you should, if you are driving by, its worth the stop over.

No, I didn’t have the true «Juicy Lucy,» the burger from Minnesota with the cheese in the middle of the burger patty. I felt like trying a bison burger ($ 12.95, with fries) today. It is billed as being from a local bison ranch.
I thought the bison burger patty was good, although next time I would get it cooked medium, not medium well. My mistake. Service was good, the beer special (all drafts $ 2) was great, the fixings fresh and the bison burger came with a ton of French fries. The atmosphere is sports bar casual. The only negative was that the bun had a LOT of bread, especially on the bottom side. Talk about filling!

Great food, great atmosphere. Packed house on a Thursday evening with lots of local folk. Excellent choice for families and big tables for large families!
The Juicy Lucy burger is a must if this is your first time there. There are several house suggestions for topping your burger or you can create your own. Lots of local brews on tap as well.
Our server Tommy B was friendly, efficient, and knowledgable. We look forward to returning again!

So much food.
They’re known for their «juicy lucy» burgers, which have american cheese embedded in them. This is a burger preparation style that they can apply to any of the many varieties of topped burgers. Because the goal is to preserve the juiciness of the burger, they then don’t cook the juicy lucy past medium. But because of the lusciousness of their burgers, the juicy lucy preparation (which is a $ 2 upcharge) is probably unnecessary. I had the Greek burger with feta, spinach, grilled onions, and gyro meat. Really, what is American cheese going to add to that? Hubs had an Applewood smoked bacon cheeseburger, to which he added an egg. You could tell there was cheese in the burger but you didn’t need it.
Great, attentive service from Mark. We lingered awhile and chatted and he kept our drinks topped off and never urged us to leave.
Try the fried pickles. Neither of us even like pickles and we would totally do the fried pickles again.

We found this restaurant searching for kid friendly places around Asheville and it did not disappoint. Great service from the time we walked in. Or server Autum is fantastic. She took the time to talk and connect with our kids. And she is really knowledgeable about the menu.
We started with calamari, a great choice. The calamari was very good! I had the My Big Fat Greek Burger. I had never tried lamb and Autum suggested I have it on the side in case I didn’t like it. I ended up putting it right on my burger, it was so good!
My husband had his burger Juicy Lucy style said it was really, really good. The serving sizes were large and we both could’ve taken for home.
My daughter loved her grilled cheese and both the kids had rave reviews for the oreo milkshakes.
Juicy Lucy’s passed the kid test, both of my kids want to return! And we are excited to have a place we all enjoy, with two picky eaters that’s a challenge.

I went here for the first time the other day. I appreciate that they are a burger place and stay true to that. They have a versatile menu, but really focus on a variety of burgers. I’m a vegetarian, and their black bean burger was pretty great.
My main complaint– The whole wheat bread option was great– except the bread to meat ration was ridiculous. Too much bread & it fell apart easily.
This place would be a great place to watch sports or meet up with some friends. It’s big but gives good space.
The servers were fantastic– they offered samples and were very attentive. They were informative and kind.

JUICY LUCY! If you are new to the club like i was, juicy lucy means your burger gets stuffed with cheese. DO IT!
We had a big table so I ordered the Chilly and we got the pimento cheese appetizer. The Chilly was ok and the Pimento Cheese was good! I had the Bacon BBQ burger (Juicy Lucy’d of course) and it was tender, juicy and very good. I got to try the ribs and they were tender and sweet! This is a great place to eat and its the best burger i had in town.

I built my own burger:
Juicy Lucy ($ 9.95) with tomatoes and lettuce; added bacon ($ 1.25), avocado ($ 1.25), and an over-​easy egg ($ 1.25) on a whole grain honey wheat bun with a side of sweet potato fries ($ 0.65).
HOLY JUICY LUCY COW, it was delicious. For my friends what do not know what a «Juicy Lucy» is, it is a burger where the beef is stuffed with white American cheese. You read that right, the meat has cheese INSIDE it! So as you bite or cut into your burger, it will ooze yummy cheese.
Large space restaurant with plenty of TVs around to watch the football game. They have Bargain Burger Mondays, Trivia Tuesdays, Live Music Wednesdays, Thirsty Thursdays, Flight Fridays, Spiked Saturdays, and Bloody Sundays.
Our waitress Maggie was superb! She made sure I got my Sprite and not water, and that I got my avocado when the kitchen forgot it. This is definitely my favorite burger place!

From the moment you walk in, the great customer service begins. The wait staff and management are highly attentive without being annoying.
The food… 1. It came out sooo fsst! 2. the Freedom Juicy Lucy totally exfeeded our expectations. The fries are yummy, but the burgers are so filling you can’t finish them!
I tried a seasonal cocktail and LOVED IT! a cranberry mule. So good!
Would definitely come back. There’s something on the menu for everyone.

After a long day in the car, my husband & I wanted a quick bite near the cabin we were staying at & Juicy Lucy’s reviews prompted us to head over for a beer & burger. I’m so glad we did!
We both split their September burger special which was named Maui something I believe & the Cowboy Juicy Lucy. We picked the fried green beans & onion rings as our side. It was all delicious! The burgers were cooked perfectly & everything was huge! My husband couldn’t even finish all of his, which is pretty rare.
Great list of local brews on tap, daily specials, & the staff was super friendly & helpful.
I wish we had one back home!

Not bad but didn’t wow me. Lots of options which is great. The fried mushrooms are good. The burger seemed a little bland to me and definitely not as juicy as I would have liked. The bun is ridiculously huge, like bigger than my hands and burger was just falling all apart.
Overall a decent choice in the area. Fries are pretty average greasy fries with the skins on them.
Homemade ranch was tasty!
