This place is awful– premade pizza and premade breadsticks. How hard is it to make decent garlic bread? The place needs a good clean. Yuck, we’ll never go again and are thankful we didn’t get ptomain poisoning.

We all had pizza and thought it was very fresh and quite good. We didn’t give it a 5 because we felt like the toppings were too skimpy but the taste and service was great. We would order it again!

I wish I could do separate reviews on the food and this place in general… that being said: The pizza is amazing… Some of the best pizza ever made. The slowness with which our pies were made this evening… Wow lackluster! It took 38 minutes to get our 2 pizzas. The kids were losing it by this point from hunger and exhaustion. The girl at the register apologized and said she would personally check on what the hold up was. We appreciated her going that. I went back up about 10 min. later to check again it was getting late and we needed to get our children home and to bed. They finally arrived and we’re very good except maybe the crust was slightly under cooked but I assume they were trying to hurry up and get them out to us. Idk I will also mention there was a group of extremely loud people next to us. The last customers besides us and a guy waiting on Carry out. The discussion included back and whole body shaving and sports. Loudest laughter I’ve ever heard from the women. My daughter asked why would people talk so loud. To beat all I think they knew the owners… Or staff. Geez Pizza gets 4 to 5 stars Service 1 star

Ordered take-out, good customer service from the phone call in to picking up the food. The staff even recommended some garlic spice dip for pizza crust. We had the Sicilian speciality pizza and it was the best pizza we had in awhile!

New in the area and decided to order our first pizza delivery. Just terrible; poor customer service excluded.

We took a chance on it, because we just wanted something fast, to go. We ordered at the counter — «a med pepperoni, with green peppers and pineapple.» «To go.» And, «if it would be ok»…“we’ll eat a small side-salad and have a drink here while we wait.” Cost= $ 30+. We were told to take a number plaque and place it on the table, and someone would bring our food to us. Waitress, the only one there… brought out two basic salads and we ate them. Well, over 45 minutes later… We had to ask«where’s our pizza?» It had been sitting– waiting, I’m guessing 25 – 30 minutes!. I can’t believe we told our waitress that we had ordered a pizza to go”. She was aware… and even cleared our salad dishes– and still didn’t check on our pizza for us, at all, ever. I wish I didn’t add a $ 3 tip to the order up front. Horrible, under-cooked pizza… cold…with dirt or smudges of ??? black stuff on the bottom(not baked in crust, just«on» it.) we couldn’t eat it because the crust was so soggy and so thin, it dropped the undercooked green peppers all over the place! My daughter got instant diarrhea. I feel sick. And I threw out ½ a med pizza!

I’m seeing negative reviews here and can’t believe it! I love Franks! I can get a great lunch for 5 bucks in a casual establishment with a family atmosphere and friendly service. It’s very laid back and more of a local favorite than any of the snooty new establishments getting so much praise in AVL. Their pizza is among my favorites. I love their sauce better than anywhere else. you can get a large 3 topping pizza every Monday for just $ 10 and it’s awesome! Over the years, a few times people made mistakes on my order. No biggie. They always accommodate and are friendly. Oh! And the don’t skip the cannoli! This is a family joint. Hipsters seeking to be cool may not find the atmosphere they desire here. I mean Franks has hardly changed since I was a kid. But, your kids will be terribly proud when they see their own artwork lovingly displayed on the walls as they play old school video games while parents relax with beer, great pizza and a smile after a little league game. Much love to Frank’s Roman Pizza!

I’ll start this off with the good– I’ve never had bad pizza from Frank’s. That’s pretty much all the good I can say, unfortunately. I’m a regular, very regular customer, because it’s close to my house, so delivery is relatively quick. If Favilla’s was closer, I’d probably stick with them. Come to think of it, I might give them a call and see if they deliver to East Asheville, because I’m pretty fed up with everything else about Frank’s. So a typical takeout order from Frank’s is incorrect or incomplete almost every time. If you plan on ordering more than just a simple pie, good luck getting everything you ordered. The manager of this location once actually told me that the drivers are ultimately responsible for putting the orders together, and that all his drivers are high, so that’s a tall task. Last night for example, we never received the salad we ordered. Of the five items we ordered, one didn’t make it. This is standard. Aside from the common mistakes, everytime I have ordered, the driver has to call me back and get directions. Is this 1985, and the driver doesn’t own a smart phone? No, of course it’s not. In fact he’s probably texting and driving half the way to my home. Why do you need me to give you directions? Even in ’85, every pizza place had a map on the wall, and the driver would simply reference the map and write down any directions necessary. This is mind boggling to me. In summary, I’ve just finally convinced myself to seek an alternative. Favilla’s is only 5 miles from my house, they probably deliver here, so I’m going to call them next time.

Really wanted to give this place a shot, but it was pretty bad. The salad was $ 6 for half a head of iceberg lettuce, some cheese and a couple of olives. The pizza itself was tolerable, but DEFINITELY not worth the prices. And the delivery driver asked for directions. Who delivers pizza without a GPS this day in age? It’s probably fine if you’re looking for a quick slice on the go, but Whole Foods is just up the street. Same price, but much better quality.

Wow, after a great pizza slice and beer earlier today I’m pretty surprised to see so many mixed reviews for this place. They have a very limited selection of brew on tap but hey, this pizza joint has beer on tap! Ordered a slice of pizza with pineapple and the whole slice was covered with the pineapple! Not one pineapple-less bite =D. And then I noticed the jukebox that isn’t digital and you get to see the albums flip while making a selection! I’m glad I finally stopped in, will be back for more great pizza, beer, old school arcade games and music. To all the people complaining about cheezyness etc, y’all need to go back to pizza hut. If a pizza is too easy to eat, its like a teenager cleaning their room, its fishy and somethings up lol

A classic pizza joint. Established in 1977 and the place still feels like being in the 80s in the best possible way. Friendly service and really good pizza at a great price. Old school video games. A real local’s place. 4 solid stars.

I thought the restaurant needed some renovations especially on the outside. It made up for it with the Eggplant Parmigiana sandwich. It was delightful. Visiting Asheville and will be returning for sandwich or maybe delivery.

I really wanted to like this place. Dirty tables, crappy service, utensils would go a long way. It’s not even that, the pizza just wasn’t good. Bitter sauce and a funky taste *sigh* and a $ 35 bill for sub-par pizza.

I like the pizza, and I’m from NY. Enough said. It’s not Favilla’s but it’s convenient for me on the way home from work. The sauce is really tasty, and they go heavy on cheese. I have ordered twice and never gotten bad service. My only complaint is the joint does seem a bit dirty. A fresh coat of paint inside would do wonders for the ambiance.

I stopped into the Tunnel Rd location for a slice. The young lady at the register was pleasant and helpful. My problem started when she handled filthy money and proceeded to go behind the corner to add toppings to my slice and put it in the oven. I could clearly see her. She never washed her hands or wore gloves. It was disgusting. I asked for a well done slice. My slice had so much cheese that it was mushy. There was more cheese than crust, way out of proportion. I have found that the Sardis Rd location overloads the cheese even when we ask for half the amount of cheese. Cheese issues aside, the lack of proper food handling procedures is a show stopper for me. There is no excuse for anyone cross-contaminating food, especially in full view of a customer!

Delicious pizza– I ordered a lot of pizza and salad for a business lunch and the driver arrived on time and the food was hot. I was impressed. I’d def eat there again when I’m craving good pizza in Asheville.

Disclaimer: This review applies ONLY to the E. Asheville location. I am a very big fan of the Sardis Rd. location. If you have the time to look back through all my previous reviews, and really you should, you’ll see that before today, I’ve given a 1-star review only once before, out of over 140 reviews. I am confident handing this one down, because there is less than zero chance that I will ever order pizza from THIS Frank’s location again.(To reiterate, the Sardis Rd location is great.) Service — It took two tries to place a carry out order, because my friend got hung up on the first time. When I got through, the order-taker cut me off half way through to talk to someone else, and never told me how much my order would be. I waited the advised 20 minutes, and headed up there. Upon arriving, 6 different employees walked past me at the front counter without so much as saying hello. Five minutes later, a friendly girl took my money and told me it’d be a couple of minutes. That much was true. Food — Among the worst executed pizzas I’ve ever eaten in my life. I worked in pizza for 7 years, and we took pride in our work. No matter how busy, each pie was assembled with care. The pizza I received tonight looked like someone just dumped the ingredients out of a bucket onto the floppy crust and tossed it in the oven before cutting it with a wood chipper. It was so floppy you couldn’t pick it up, some slices had pepperoni literally stacked 5 high, and some had none at all. Value — The aforementioned disaster set me back $ 20.50, for ONE«pizza». I love the Sardis Rd location, but I wouldn’t go back to the Tunnel Rd location if they offered me a month’s worth of free pizza. Believe me, I know pizza, and I’m not one to just hand out bad reviews in passion. This place deserves this single star more than any place I’ve patronized in NC. There are 100 places in Asheville to get a better experience. I’d recommend Woody’s, up Tunnel Rd. Avoid this Frank’s.
