I have to stop here every time I’m near Asheville. It has the best prices on the best brand name shoes you can find. I’ve found it to have better prices than finding the same brand and styles on the internet. I got a great deal on some Keen leather hiking boots there. Love it!

Wide selection of variety of shoes! Sizes galore. Great prices too. Sales help very polite and helpful. Store was huge! I mean HUGE!!! Would visit again if in area.

This is the GREATEST Shoe store in the world. I planned my return trip to Asheville (from WI) partly to visit Discount Shoes! It is a little piece of Heaven! The mass quantities of shoes here are mindboggling! Why can’t they have a store like this closer to me, like in Chicago?

I just compared prices between shoes I saw on the shelves at Discount Shoes and shoes online at Zappos. Sketchers Parallel $ 40/​DS, $ 60/​Zappos; Haflinger slippers $ 21 less at DS; Giesswein Spital $ 83/​DS, $ 104/​Zappos. There are great deals at Discount Shoes!

Incredible. Knowledgable staff, and friendly to boot (pun intended). Huge selection for all budgets and of footgear for all kinds of peeps– cowboys, fancy, work related, people with bad feet (me…great prices on Alegrias here), people who want bad feet (high heels), hikers, running freaks, and kids. Some highlights: factory defect Florsheims at $ 90.00 a pop, tons of slip resistant stuff, and shoes for giants are here. (Hey, I was helping my husband.) I also saw specialized socks and shoe polish in all colors. My husband returned his boots with no hassle, and he got cash back. (Of course… they fit great in-​store, but not at home.) My husband was asked for his ID upon paying with his debit/​credit card. Women: you can ask for a wide insert when trying on Alegrias, and if you have any questions, everyone there is so helpful. You do not have to stuff the wadded paper that you find in new shoes back into the shoes you try on– just throw it in a nearby box. Look for clearance prices, and ask if you don’t see any obvious clearance items. Sometimes they are «hidden». No «Uggs» here. «Bearpaws” — yes. Don’t bother asking for a discount on floor models– they will not give one. Not even on damaged models. (I reconfirmed this in mid-​October, 2015. «Dick’s» will, though.) So glad we discovered this shoe mecca… one woman came from six hours away– that alone tells you how great it is!
Side note: go next door for men’s rugged wear and nurse-​wear.

Don’t plan on paying with your credit card here. They refuse to follow the rules that Visa/​Amex have in place for merchants, so you’re putting your accounts and identity at risk by shopping here. Otherwise, a very good selection of shoes at pretty good prices. Sales staff is very helpful.

Incredible selection of the best brands. Although not a real discount on the majority of shoes, but «buy one get one» for seasonal close outs (not a great selection, though). Almost always walk out with a pair.

Great selection of boots of all kinds. Every time we are in the Asheville area we stop by and more than likely walk out with a purchase. Decent prices but not extremely discounted shoes.

Bought two pairs of shoes today at Discount Shoes. Fabiola helped me, and she is GREAT! I told her what I was looking for and the problems I was having with my feet. She knew exactly what I needed. I will be back!!!

Discount Shoes has a wide variety and decent (not superb) discount prices. We have purchased 10 – 12 pairs of shoes there over the past decade. Need boots? Prom shoes? Tennis or walking shoes? Chances are Discount Shoes has name brand footwear that will fit you, and it might fit your budget. They do not take American Express.
