If you’re wanting a hot dog boutique experience look elsewhere. This is simple comfort food, and it’s just the right thing when that’s what you want. I will say that I’ve never had a soggy french fry, and I LOVE crispy ones. The menu is straightforward and priced right. Some reviews complain about service, and while the staff may not be your typical chatty southerners, I always get cordial service with a smile there. I saw something during my meal today that I think is really important. Being a restaurant with good food is crucial, but only a few restaurants become a part of culture. I saw a guy come in and ask how much it would cost for one hot dog. Many places would have been judgmental based on his appearance. The guy behind the counter(maybe the owner?) told him what it would be, and the customer showed him a handful of change. Now, there’s nothing wrong with getting what you pay for, but what I saw next makes me a supporter of this business for more than food. The man behind the counter looked this guy in the eye and said, «What would you like? A hot dog all the way?» The customer couldn’t afford that, but the worker gladly made him their best hot dog and gave him the same service as anyone else. That’s a business model I can get behind, and that makes Celebrity’s a part of their neighborhood(not just a place to eat).

I was really lucky I missed my turn and ended up turning around in this place’s parking lot. I was a little hungry so I grabbed a quick chili dog. Man — the bun was steamed up nice, the chili was delicious, and the whole thing was just perfect. I’ll definitely be getting a bagful before I leave town.

Loved it. Simple unpretentious straight up «all the way dogs»(chili, cheese, onions & slaw) perfectly steamed bun, slaw with just a touch of sweetness, great chili, just the right amount of onion to tie it all together & lastly the humble dog. Noting extreme yet not some run of the mill 7 – 11 Weiner. Everything just worked. The chili cheese fries;also good. Guaranteed they are frozen & the cheese sauce is from a jar, but ya know what? I FREAKINGLOVEDIT!!! Sometimes that’s just what you want & all you need.

Nope. Never again. Bland. Everything was bland. How do you mess up hot dogs and fries? If you like classic cars, however, check this place out on the weekends. Just don’t get anything to eat.

Straight to the point! The only hotdog better is a grilled hotdog. Great food, fast service, friendly staff. Come here often, priced just right for a quick lunch break

Best tasting hotdogs in the Asheville area. Been here many many times and always the same great hotdogs and service.

Fast, cheap, and honest food! If you want to spend too much, wait to just to get a table, and enjoy exotic toppings it’s probably not the place for you. I don’t expect my every meal to qualify for the Food Network.

Great Hot Dogs & Fries! Chili Dog was delicious. This place does hot dogs the right way. To the customer who gave this place 1 star who ordered BBQ… you go to a Chinese Restaurant to order Chinese food not Mexican food…, what did you expect when you went to Celebrity HotDog? HotDogs are what they do the best! Always stop by here when I’m in the Asheville area!

This place was awesome. My family and I were driving to the beach and we let our son pick the restaurant. We knew it would be good when it was a shabby building and a line out the door of locals. We will be stoping there again for next years vacation. Friendly service. My husband said it was a good hotdog but not great. I had a corn dog and onion ring which were both stellar.

Regular old gas station hot dogs. Okay service. I’m pretty surprised this place had nothing special to offer food wise. I expected them to at least have great toppings or good quality dogs, but nope. Literally $ 1 has station hot dogs and toppings. Bummer

Went there with my wife for lunch. I ordered the BBQ, the only option from the Hot Dogs. The meat was wet, like it had sat overnight in a crock pot that was turned off. When you pressed it with a fork, juice ran out, and I’m talking water, not meat juice. I can’t remember the last time I sent food back, but this was dumpster quality garbage. I traded it in for some hot dogs that tasted like the cheapest off brand sale hot dogs you can buy. The amazing thing was there were people standing in line to eat this trough slop. If I lived in the area, I would open a restaurant across the street selling Hot Pockets and Banquet TV dinners so the patrons could eat better food.

Good location near the Blue Ridge Parkway. The hot dogs are average and could be a little better quality. Not a huge fan of the high counter, lends itself to the staff being impersonal.

As most reviewers have said, hot dogs are nothing special. I would compare them to the hot dogs you’d serve at children’s birthday parties. Fries and onion rings are not bad. They like to run the line as fast as possible, even when there isn’t really a line. They’re fast and curt. Overall, it’s an alright place for a quick lunch. Their clientele isn’t the type that would read a Unilocal review, honestly.

There is nothing really special about Celebrity’s Hotdogs but I give them two stars because they are cheap and they have a cool inside theme going on. All the décor is race themed with helmets and pictures all over the place. I tried a hot dog and BBQ sandwich and found both to be way too bland. At the very least this place could buy Nathan’s hotdogs, which are so juicy and delicious. The service wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t friendly. It was just like the food, bland.

Read the review by Chris S. then add«ditto from Roger». Service was prickly even when I gushed niceness. Seriously… I did. Hot dogs are eh? And they seemed confused when I wanted to add stuff. Hrrrmm

I have eaten here on many occasions, and you might be asking why eat here with only two stars? Good question. I would say the cheap prices, convenient location, and my laziness to drive elsewhere when I’m really hungry. The hot dogs are reasonable, but they are not in the same league as Skin Thrasher’s Hot Dogs in Anderson, SC. Yes, they have tried to copy them, and many years ago the manager acknowledged as much in speaking with her. If you are familiar with Skin’s then you will know what I’m talking about. The chili is weak, and the coleslaw is too chunky. Both don’t seem to be homemade, and if they are… they really don’t know what they are doing. Lastly, the service is ALWAYS cold/uninterested and done with a level of disdain at times. I always ask myself why I continue to visit. In my defense its been over 4 – 5 months, so maybe I have kicked this bad habit.

Run of the mill chili dog joint … doesn’t contend with the nation’s best but is still solid … and CHEAP.
