My husband and I came in here while we were visiting Asheville. I was really excited for the tasting area. When we came in a worker said hi but we had to ask about everything. Neither him or the other owner were very friendly. Keep in mind we were the only ones in the store. Once we figured out how to do the tasting we were extremely disappointed and honestly grossed out. Between 2 of us we tasted 5 reds asked every single one tasted like it had gone bad. The barbera in particular tasted like vinegar. The whites were okay. The tasting station was ridiculously over priced and should not even be there is the wine had gone bad. The workers never interacted with us after giving us the wine glasses to use. Had they even asked how the tasting was I would have informed them of how horrible it was. Keep in mind my husband and I have been attending weekly wine tastings at other places for over 2 years so we can pretty easily tell the difference between something we just don’t like and something that has gone bad. Overall I was sorely disappointed in the tasting and the rudeness of the staff.

Although my Vino days are over, or maybe just suspended until I get tired of craft beer(if that’s even possible), I could not resist going in this store. There’s just something kind of cute and inviting; maybe it’s the snazzy striped awning and big windows. Wow! Someone greeted me when I entered and asked if I was searching for a specific type of wine. Nice! The Market is pretty large, bright and clean. Well organized and a decent craft beer selection. The best part other than a well curated selection is the staff; they really know their stuff and make some great recommendations. Located right next to Wicked Weed, this is an excellent place for both wine lovers and craft beer drinkers to pick up some alcoholic goodness…

My husband and I discovered this wine shop recently on a trip to Asheville. We were looking for a wine that was hard to find in Savannah. The staff told that they could get our wine on 2 or three days. Good effort we thought. However, after speaking with the owner, we were told that he would have it for us the NEXTMORNING! The owner, Larry, also told us about a free tasting in the store that evening. Several distributors had selections(about 20+). If you are planning strip to Asheville, call ahead and find out if there is a tasting scheduled. The store carries a wide variety of wines including both modestly priced and premium rated wines. You will find the staff friendly and helpful as opposed to the snobbish attitude found in some shops. TIP: Parking can be challenging in evenings.
