Absolutely worth it. Two thoughts — #1 Be prepared to sit with your own thoughts for forty-five full minutes. If nothing else is achieved, you win! #2 Each person experiences there own results, that’s true. Mine are associated with significant psoriasis and the noticeable improvements I see after three visits(1Xa week). I realize there is science behind it and that’s great — seeing better skin and renewing my sense of hope that I can have clear skin again, that’s it for me! Thoughtful and kind staff put it over the top.

The salt cave was really cool especially if you just want to relax and enjoy your surroundings. I usually can’t sit still for very long but if you can it’s worth going. I really gave a 4 star review more for the massage! I really wish I remembered the woman’s name that gave me a massage. she was the BEST! I HAVENEVERFELTSORELAXEDAFTERLEAVINGTHERE!

I had not heard anything about halotherapy or salt caves until our most recent trip to Beer City. We had a brochure for another salt cave outside of downtown, but Asheville’s Salt Cave was a five minute walk from the hotel and a little cheaper so we went there. It was a mostly relaxing experience. My allergies had just started bothering me slightly that day and the session SEEMED to help a little bit. I think sitting in an anti-gravity chair for 45 minutes probably helped a little bit more. It is supposed to be very relaxing but there are loud noises of imaginary salt carts above the room every five minutes which really kill the experience. There is spa music playing and water dripping on both sides of the cave which made me have to pee very bad. Also, this is not a cave in a mountain as you would expect — it’s in a strip mall type building. IT was worth the relaxation while taking a few day vacation in Asheville and I’d probably do it again — I just wish they would get rid of the loud noises that detract from the whole experience.

What an amazing idea and space! Completely relaxing and rejuvenating! What a treat to have an actual 20K of salt in a room to give it the cave feeling and be able to relax and meditate while receiving an amazing healing treatment. I felt relaxed, rested, clear chested and with a clearing in the sinus’s that I had been unable to find relief for before this! The staff is great — very educational and present. Was an overall amazing experience! Thank you Asheville Salt Cave for making my day/week!

Have low expectations when you go. It’s a communal room — small — with 9 of your closest new friends. One person snored so loudly, it made for an unbearable experience. Re-used dark brown blankets is also unappealing along with constant noise from the roof. Maybe the angels were bowling… Could be much nicer with some upgrades.

Wow! A friend of mine in Raleigh mentioned the salt caves in Asheville. Then in the Asheville visitor center we saw the brochure. We were able to walk in without reservations on Saturday night. They are open from 10 till seven but the last session is at 5 o’clock. It consists of a 45 minute quiet, relaxation session in a room full of Himalayan pink salt. Up to 10 people can be in the room and you have the option of lying on a zero gravity chair or lying on the floor with lots of blankets and pillows. There is running water in the room. And there is subdued lighting with salt lamps. There is a locked cabinet for your phone, watches and other things you don’t want to take in with you. Try to wear white, clean socks. Otherwise, there are booties available for you. The host guides you in the room as a group. As you are getting comfortable, she talks about the healing benefits of the salt cave and leads a relaxation session. My experience was amazing. A day later, my husband and I are still feeling very relaxed. My allergies are not bothering me. I had a sinus headache before the session and my muscles were tight. My neck and back muscles still feel loose. I can’t wait to come back and do it again!

I had a wonderful experience at a salt cave in Santa Barbara and was excited to take my family to a local version in Asheville. I tried to walk into the second room that had no markings that it was unavailable and the front desk lady was stern and abrupt in telling me there was a session going on. We looked around the store and politely asked a few questions about services and she acted like we were inconveniencing her. All five of us are pretty lenient with sales people but all remarked about how rude this front desk lady was. We will not be back for business.

Before you sign up, you need to understand that this place(its not a cave but a room) is directly under a parking garage. During our session, there was tremendous, banging noises coming from above every few minutes creating a stressful environment. 2 people walked out mid session and asked for their money back and were told no. We left early as well and were told tough luck too. I would highly recommend asking up front that if its a busy day in the parking garage above, can you get your money back. If they say no, you’ve got your answer on what kind of a business this really is.

Me and my boyfriends family came here while we were visiting Asheville. We had an amazing time. The staff was great, and took the time to talk to us after our session and show us the products they have. I left with a mud mask that I love so far, and a little pink Himalayan Salt to use on food. The salt cave experience was great. The vibe in the room is so peaceful and relaxing, I was able to be calm quickly. Afterwards, we all felt very tired and rested for a while and then had a great night out on the town. So be prepared to follow your body’s cue after your session. If I lived in town I would do this as much as I could. I could feel the potential for regular sessions.

I love the Salt Cave! The atmosphere and healing energy of the cave is amazing. I always come out feeling very calm and centered. Not to mention the sessions have been helping my recent sinus infection immensely! The staff is great and very knowledgeable and helpful. I have also used their other services; massage, reiki and facials. The ladies there are great! I highly recommend them! The prices are extremely affordable as well. Not at all what you would expect from the level of care, detail and expertise.

I totally agree that breathing pure salt is great for any one with breathing issues but I was not too happy with the location of this spa. The reason I say this is because I have tried the Other Salt Spa on Hendersonville RD and its far better in terms of location(quality wise they are both great). SOIA is located directly under a PARKINGDECK and when you are in the salt Spa trying to meditate in peace ad quite you will be JOLTED by cars driving above! It’s NUTS! Really ruins the whole experience. Kind of like sitting under a bridge with cars going over …

I was really hoping this place would help my breathing. Every spring, the oak trees send their pollen into the air and I’m left one step away from needing an iron lung machine to breathe. SolA is a really cool idea. Chill out in a room and breathe in salt. I think salt does help with breathing because the air near the ocean has always cleared me out. But I’m not sure this place helped me all that much. Still, I enjoyed relaxing in a salt cave. The price was reasonable given how much spa-stuff usually costs. By the way, when they tell you to use the restroom before you enter the cave, listen to them. Because the sound of running water is constant for your 45-minute session and you don’t want to wet your pants in the salt cave. Not cool. If you have breathing problems of any kind, I suggest you check this place out to see if it works for you.
