Ok, I feel REALSTUPID spending 15 minutes of my life getting off the Interstate to visit the World’s Largest Peanut Monument. But I couldn’t help myself. I pass this nut every time I road trip to visit family in Florida and I thought there might be something to this place. You know, something interesting that I could report back to my Unilocal family. The most I can tell you is it’s here. After a Google search, one article I found said it was ERECTED in 1975. What an accurate way to describe building a nut on a pole. A LITTLEHISTORY Truth be told, most people think the state crop is peaches, since our license plates affectionately refer to this as «the peach state». But in reality, Georgia’s number one crop are peanuts. Weird huh? Well, not really considering the only Georgia-born president happened to be a peanut farmer! Jimmy Carter is also the only president I’ve ever had the opportunity to shake hands with AND the only president to ever have lived in government housing for the poor(when he was a child).
