These guys are the best. I shopped at numerous places and Floor & Design gave me by far the best price for the exact same flooring. They gave me an estimate one day and started working on it the next. All other companies told me that I have to wait 2 – 3 weeks until they order the materials. My floor looks amazing.

I do not recommend this company for these reasons: unprofessional, inexperienced installers and rude service by the owner.
I had hardwood floors installed on the main level of my single family home. The installation itself was unprofessional and I was disappointed with the cracks left between the boards. The installers also left deep marks the wood when moving furniture back into place. We insisted that the boards be pulled up and replaced (Fred agreed), however replacing boards in the middle of a floor never looks as good as the initial installation.
To make matters worse, a few weeks after the installation, we noticed that the powder room sink was leaking onto the downstairs ceiling when draining. I called Fred to discuss and he literally hung up on me. Prior to installation, Fred had told me that the pedestal sink would be removed to install the floor. After installation, he said the crew did not have to remove the sink after all. I had a plumber come out to repair the leak and he found the drain pipe had been broken. It was very obvious that in their haste to finish the job, the installers chose to lift up the pedestal and jam the boards underneath rather than removing the sink. This shortcut actually broke the PVC drainpipe causing water to drain directly into the wall. It cost me an additional $ 450 to repair the pipe.

Two times I went to the store ready to purchase flooring, two times I made appointments… 2 no shows. Plenty of other options out there, I don’t recommend this one.

Fred and his team did a fantastic job on our new flooring and kitchen cabinets. He walked us. through every step and ensured we had a great design. The team worked quickly and paid attention to. every detail. They clean up each evening. We are very happy with our selection.

Signed a contract for installation of a bathroom countertop. Selected the countertop and was told that I could pick out the granite piece that I wanted to use, as each piece of granite can have color variations. However, the representative Mike called to inform me that the countertop had been fabricated without giving me the opportunity to see the specific granite that was used. When I requested to come by to take a look, I was told that it was in the warehouse. I called today to inquire about the dimensions of the sink, as I wanted a smaller sink so that I could maximize my counter space. I discovered that the new sink that Mike recommended was the same size as my current sink, which is in excellent condition. When I asked why he ordered the same size sink, he became argumentative and rude. I told him that these were questioons that my contractor/​plumber had raised and I didn’t think it was necessary to be rude. I suggested that perhaps it would be helpful for him to speak to my contractor. He stated that didn’t have time to talk to my contractor; he was too busy to answer my questions; the countertop had already been fabricated; it was a simple job that I was making complicated by asking questions that he didn’t have time to answer; and he would just cancel the job. Given his rudeness, I told him that I didn’t want to do business with someone who would treat a customer in that manner. I recommend that you steer clear of this place! Customer service is obviously not an important consideration.

Update ²⁄₁₆: Floor and Design agreed to replace the tile in our kitchen at no additional cost after it was noted by Schluter that there were no expansion joints in the original install. The install is complete and looks great. I am thankful that they ultimately stood behind their work and did the right thing.
Updated 10/​26/​2015 — do NOT do business with these guys. The post-​install support is horrible. They agree to appointment times and either don’t show or text right around the appt time to reschedule with lame excuses. We are having issues with grout cracking and discoloring in our kitchen and it has been like pulling teeth to get them to do anything measurable to correct the problems. There are too many flooring business out there that you shouldn’t have to accept poor service for a better price.
Very nice and helpful during the sales process and they did a decent job with the install. However, we’ve had multiple problems with both the hardwood and tile. Getting them to respond and fix the problems correctly has been incredibly frustrating. They don’t call back and repeatedly don’t show up for scheduled repairs. I would not recommend these guys.

Went there twice. Both times the owner was not even interested in talking with me or helping me. I will go some other place.

We recently had some hardwood put in by Floor and Design, and are really happy with their work. They were able to match our existing wood perfectly, and did a great job installing. We will definitely be using them again!

Awful. Went there for flooring and they conned me into making a plan with them for my kitchen cabinets as well as my bathroom. After two weeks and multiple visits, the owner/​design consultant didn’t even have the decency to contact me personally but had a receptionist call to say they chose two bigger contracts over mine. I was left with nothing but disrespect. He was bad at responding to emails & phone calls so maybe I should have known. But he was convincing in person & when we did speak. I have been disappointed by this industry as a whole, and Floor & Design did not having any redeeming elements.

I purchased a short-​sale condo that had been completely trashed by its prior owner, and needed a near complete renovation. The most significant and expensive part of the renovation was going to be the flooring. I had a 1000 square foot area in which I was going to install hardwoods, and another 1500 square feet of carpet that needed to be replaced. I had shopped a number of well recommended flooring places, had budgeted according to the estimates they had offered. Then I walked into Floor and Design in Ashbrook Commons on a lark — I was there to shop at another stoor, and thought I would see if Floor & Design had the same products I had settled on for my floor. As it turns out, they did. I knew my measurements, so I asked them for a quote, and before I was done shopping next door, they called me with a number — several thousand dollars lower than my best alternate estimate!
Upon talking with them a little more, I discovered that their services are not limited to flooring. I asked them for an estimate to paint my new place too. Again, they came in significantly less expensive than other conntractors. I ended up contracting with Floor & Design for my floors and my paint.
I was on a tight schedule (as well as budget), but Fred and Mike Soltani were able to accomodate me with scheduling their painters and installers. They had me on their calendar in no time. The painting was completed in less than three days, and the paint crew was professional and thorough.
The only snag that came up was that the flooring manufacturer sent defective product, but Fred, with his many years of experience in flooring, had the forsight to inspect the materials before allowing them to be sent to my property. He called me immediately to allert me to the issue, and had me back out to the show room to look at alternatives. The alternative I selected was a significant upgrade to my original choice, but Fred and MIke honored their original price.
Ultimately, all the work was accomplished right on schedule, and on budget, and I was very pleased with the results. Fred and Mike were great to work with, and I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone who is embarking on any new plans for their homes — whether that is flooring, cabinetry, tile, or any other design project.

A 5-​star on my list. I’m very happy with the company. All you can ask for from a service firm — quick scheduling, fast and professional service, fully licensed and nice service people. Fred S. checked our hardwood floors and was able to determine why it’s buckling up. He’s very knowledgeable and gave us a reasonable proposal on fixing and replacing our floor. I recommend Floor & Design to everyone.

I have dealt with Floor and Design on several projects over the years and have been nothing but satisfied. I had one problem with some granite that was installed and it was resolved in a timely and professional manner.
The day my hardwood floors were installed I ended up scratching one very bad with a piece of furniture that had a nail on the bottom… TOTALLY my fault and responsibility but when I told Fred what I had done, he immediately had it repair — at NO CHARGE!
If you want someone who will take time to discuss your project in detail with you and make cost effective recommendations, No matter how big or how small… Fred is the first person to call. In fact, I just called him today for another project.
