Service was very good and attentive. I had the crab stuffed trout and my husband had pork braciole with rigatoni. Very good! Will def return.

My wife and I decided to try this place with some friends on a Saturday night and booked a reservation for 7:30 pretty easily. The décor is basic, typical Italian look for North Jersey. I found the service to be very good and the food a bit inconsistent. Our antipasto app for two was excellent… cured meats, cheese, olives, pickled eggplant… and a good size portion. The homemade rustic Italian bread is excellent and apparently what they are known for. However, our entrees were just ok… veal rack, lobster ravioli. I will try them again and possibly bump up the review to four stars if I have a better overall food experience.

Food was okay. Highly over priced for what I got. The value was not there. Why do you charge for coke refills. Two people with cokes with one refill cost $ 16(full glass of ice). What a ripoff. Your waitress should have told me that refills are $ 4. Now I know why the dog in the back was barking for hours because it was 5 degrees outside. They should take that poor dog home. Too dark inside, you know this when people are using their cellphones flashlights to read the menu.

Have been here twice in the past two months. Food is top notch, though a little slow coming out of the kitchen. Service is very good and attentive. Atmosphere is nice. If you want good, fresh, authentic Italian food in a part of NJ not overflowing with authentic Italian restaurants, this is definitely a place to try. Pasta dishes are all great. Go, relax, and enjoy.

Well, this is one that could be five but a few things are missing, which makes it a solid 4 star. Primarily, the ambiance of the place — it’s like I’m sitting in an office building that was dressed up like a restaurant… as other diners have mentioned it’s too bright and that brings attention to the lack of décor. That kind of sucks. However, the food is top notch. The chef knows his spices and uses them excellently on every dish. So, in essence, he makes this trip quite a bit more interesting than your usual spot. So it stands above the other Italian restaurants of the greater area that it’s competing with just on that alone. The food is quite good, they clearly care about the product on the plate. That said, the other issue is the prices. They’re quite high. They get away with it because they are good and places like this are disappearing rapidly so I’m not complaining, but it’s a bit much to pay 28 bucks for a pasta dish. Good place, worth a visit.

I was looking for an upscale restaurant for my girlfriend’s birthday. We decided on this place after looking at the menu. Arrived on-time for the reservation and had a small wait to be seated. The décor was neat, but utilitarian. Carpet was surprisingly cheap looking and seating was arranged more like a lunch restaurant Service was excellent and friendly. We ordered a few drinks which were delivered in a timely fashion. The drinks were delicious. We ordered salads for appetizers and our main entrees, mine from the specials menu and my girlfriend’s from the regular menu. The salads were excellent. The server waited for us to finish(being slow eaters) before bringing out the entrees. My girlfriend’s seafood entrée was spectacular, but this is where I ran into some problems. My entrée was a classic Italian entrée. The tomato sauce was like water, no taste, and the pasta was equally as bland. The meat accompanying the pasta was not tasty and looked like it was previously frozen? It was edible in any case and I did not want to say anything since my girlfriend’s entrée was perfect. I actually took a few bites of her meal to enjoy the experience. The restaurant is a la carte and therefore very expensive so be aware of this pitfall. Getting salads with your meals will alone be another 20 – 25 dollars. The entrees are expensive too, even comparing to NYC pricing, but the quality was obviously not there in my case. I would like to give them 4 stars, but they need to make every dish to-die-for if they get the 4 – 5 star level review in my opinion. 3.5 star review Bill total: 2 course meal with 4 drinks(no dessert) $ 138.00

Very disappointed. Our waitress was great but the food was ok. We had just finished our dessert, the owner turned off the music and waited near the door with her jacket and gloves on. Oh, did I forget to mention they turned off the heat? We had no clue they were closing because no one told us(we were tucked in the back room)! The one thing I absolutely hated were the poor dogs outside in a cage. It’s suppose to be 1° out tonight… I had asked the owner if they were going to bring the dogs in, she was very honest and said«no, the igloo and hay will keep them warm»! They will be reported. Needless to say I will never ever return and I will continue tell my friends about my experience. Shame on you!!!

3.5 stars. I could have given them four, but there were two main issues. First, the place is just too bright and lacks the«cozy» factor. The dining room felt more like a diner — bright lights and no tablecloths. Second, the wine list is limited and pricy for the selection and the area. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Service was professional and prompt.

Great place to take advantage of groupon. Food is homey and tasty. Dim the lights and it would be perfect.

I’ve driven past this Restaurant countless times, and finally got the opportunity to stop in. Wish I had stopped in years earlier! The service was«classy» and the food was fantastic! You can smell the made from scratch with fresh ingredients difference as soon as the food arrives at your table. Save room for their coffee & cannoli… a must have! This was a great dining experience, and I will be back! I rated 4 stars(rather than 5) due to $$$.

Seafood risotto was a big disappointment! $ 30 for 3 little bay scallops and 3 small shrimp that were obviously frozen since they had no flavor. I feel violated. Villa Barone in Robbinsville NJ and Il Cielo in Hamilton put this to shame! Service was great. Thank god I have a groupon to help soften the blow. Way over priced for all entrees. Restaurateurs are getting really outta hand with the price gouging.

The good, the entrees, I’ve have the gnocchi, sort ribs, risotto, the pork braciole, bolognese. All were excellent. The bread and oil are good too. The bad, appetizers and salads are not that good. Calamari needs legs. The ugly, the price. Even though the dinners were yummy not sure it is worth the overall price. Makes it worth it with the groupon you can get every once in a while. Without groupon and a dinner for two with a drink and tip you are not leaving under 100.

Amazing food and service! Their Reggiano Parmesan appetizer is a treat, and the peppers/Parmesan/hazelnut combination is just perfect. The Fettuccine Napoli and the Handmade Ravioli are highly recommended. Their bread is the closest to authentic Italian bread you can get!

This is a case where I wish I could give 3.5 stars. I’ll bump them up not down though. We had to wait significantly longer than«best practice» to meet our server. Like another review here, there was a big party in the room and she was busy tending to a big drink order. She was nice though, friendly like it was her house and she was taking care of us. Food was good, not great. We had for apps: Calamari and a special gogonzola stuffed baked figs. I normally don’t order calamari if it doesn’t come with the tentacles — love the tentacles. When I asked the server she said no, but said their calamari is worth it and the best around and really sold it, so I went with it. It was simply«ok» — 14 dollars ok? not really. some of the cornmeal crust was soggy, at least the squid was not overcooked. The aioli was a bit on the harsh side — too garlicky for me, so she brought me a bowl of marinara, which I thought had a strange flavor — some kind of spice I had never had in a marinara before. The fig app was awesome! great bite if you put some of the balsamic drizzled arugula on, then wrapped it with the proscuitto. Great texture and flavor! For mains we had the shrimp risotto and the potato gnocchi. Both were very good. I’d say the risotto was a bit better because the gnocchi was based on that marinara sauce with a bit of cream added. I didn’t finish the gnocchi because I was too full — I did enjoy the bread and rosemary olive oil. The risotto was solid, cooked right, the chorizo and peas and other bits really balanced it nicely, and the shrimp were big and not overcooked — which I just figure is going to happen when I get shrimp out(rarely do anymore). Desert we had an underwhelming bread pudding. no crispy edges or top, just apples and walnuts, it didn’t look too appetizing either(as bread pudding goes). If we did not have the calamari and bread pudding it would have been a solid 4 – 4.5. We will be back to give some other dishes a try. Value was a bit on the expensive side for what we got. $ 120 for two no alcohol(tip included). not a cheap date, but not crazy expensive. a bit expensive though for the quality.

We are regulars, as Rosaluca’s never disappoints. Yummy freshly picked heirloom tomatoes and a delicious sole special were my choices this visit. My husband had lupine beans(so many we brought most home) and cavatelli and broccoli rabe with spicy sausage.

The food is absolutely delicious. Incredibly pricey, especially since the servings could be just a little bigger. But the real expense is the drinks, which were good, but still ran the bill at over 200 dollars tor 5 people. But the criticisms don’t outweigh the quality of the food. This is the place you go to for a fancy, superbly high-quality meal.

There were things I liked about this place and things I did not. When entering, I came upon a virtual greenhouse of lemon plants and assorted other fruit trees. When we came into the main area, there was a small bar area, which was surprising to me considering I have driven past here many times to see ads for happy hours. Aside from six seats at a very small bar, I could not figure out how this place could really manage a happy hour. We were seated promptly by a very friendly hostess. Service was friendly and we liked that the place had a nice old fashioned feel to it. We ordered the grilled peppers and calamari for apps. The peppers were very good, the calamari ok, but could have been less chewy. I am always suspect of calamari that comes served without the tentacles, and this did not have any. Bread was good, served with olive oil for dipping. The olive oil was seasoned well with a taste of rosemary. I loved it. i ordered the cavateli with broccoli rabe and sausage. My husband the lasagna special. He had no issues. However, I did find the sausage in my dish to be a bit fatty and sub par, though very nicely flavored. Dessert…Well, I wanted to move on, but my husband asked to stay. We ordered capuchino and wanted to split a canolli,(forgive my spelling here… I’m an irish girl and spell check proves to be useless) The coffee came out immediately, and then it took about a half hour for the dessert to come out. The canolli was great, but it sucked that I didn’t have anything to drink with it except my half filled glass of water. The most annoying thing about the place was the clientele. I am from Long Island originally, and I still found a large number of the people who visited this restaurant to be loud and obnoxious. Not everyone, but quite a few. Food was good overall. Fresh ingredients used, but still, I felt the price of things was a little too high. Might go back for a special occasion, but might not.
