This store is terrible at customer service! Go down the street to the Kings Soopers, it is worth the drive!

There’s nothing more annoying than having employees that are missing formed or do not have information and tell you that you were wrong because they work somewhere for 38 years. That’s what happened when I walked in to find out where the nearest gas station that I can redeem points at the Chevron which is a partner of Safeway to get gas. The cashier told me that I was absolutely incorrect even though I pulled up on the app said Chevron and Exxon are partners. completely rude I don’t care how long you’ve worked out of location customer service should be your number one priority. Thanks for the horrible service to the cashier in lane 2 express check-out.

This Safeway is so much nicer. There’s a better feel to the whole shopping experience. Cleaner, the workers are helpful and nice. They’re not nosy like one at the Safeway in Golden. Docked one star since the selections for pastries is a little minimal compared to other places, they’re also a bit pricier too overall. Know your prices.

We tried to get some sandwiches made from the deli. While the woman working there was very nice, they only had bags of premade rolls. No bakery rolls? I was certain that’s what was in the photo. You can’t make sandwiches with a terrible roll and try to charge the same amount. I’ve never been disappointed by a Safeway deli before. This was my first and last time in this store.

Growing up my mom worked at Safeway and it was a great store, really the only I knew well. Going off to college and growing into an adult and even starting a family I became very disappointed in Safeways anywhere. I think they are super over priced. For example one of my favorite cane sugar soda drinks is Virgal’s Crème Soda/Root Beer is about $ 4.95 for a six pack at Kings Soopers. I find it at Safeway and it is $ 9.95(What?). I have a Safeway close to my work and one day when I had and unexpected femle monthly present I rushed over to Safeway. The prices were to outrageous. Then I got in my car drove to Kings Soopers for tampons $ 7.00 less expensive. Gas prises don’t vary that much when you see multiple locations down a road. I don’t have an issue with customer service or the location of this Safeway. Matter a fact it has a Starbucks at this location. I give it a 2stars because I try at all cost to stay away from Safeway because of their unrealistic high prices and their lack of organic selection products. There is a Kings Soopers across the street go there instead.

I don’t go here often, but is sometimes the convenient location. The biggest reasons I don’t frequent the location much is that I’ve found their prices to be higher in many cases. Don’t get me wrong. The layout is real clean looking and inviting which is why this is a three-star and not a two-star, but that’s not the issue I have with it. Just too pricey and I have a closer grocery store to home. I might go here more if this was the closest location, but it wouldn’t be by much.

This is a good store. They have great produce and meat. The deli workers are really really nice, always offering my toddler a piece of cheese. The lines can be long at times, but usually a checker will come around and try to help if it gets too busy.

Nice store since remodel and always clean. Staff is helpful and you can easily see several who have been their many years. While I enjoy the nice layout and easy parking, the female manager is unfriendly and lacks professionalism. This is a consistent attribute and likely is hurting the store’s business especially with a Walmart having opened just down the street. For me, having encountered her arrogance at least twice while checking out or using customer service has caused me to shop elsewhere. The loss of the gas station to the Kings Soopers down the street was a critical business mistake and this was reflected by the staff as well. If they change the store manager to one who is interested in her presentation to the public, I will gladly return, until then my business goes else wheres.

I’m mad at this store at the moment, but I’m going to try to keep that from coloring my review too badly. This store has been steadily declining since we started shopping here in 2007. Fewer and fewer customers, and the quality of produce especially really started to decline as well. For example, one day when I went there, all the greens in ALL the produce cases were wilted. Nobody apparently had noticed(or cared). Their meat(beef especially) is always very good and fresh. Their seafood can be a bit hit-or-miss, and today it was definitely a «miss.» I had about half a lb of their big shrimp that were on sale for nearly ½ off, from the ready-to-go case. Deveined and nice and grey. They didn’t have any more in that case, so I asked the guy behind the counter for some. When I got them home, the ones from the ready-to-go, grab-them-yourself case were fine, but the ones from the butcher himself were disgusting. The ends of them(the head end) were white and puffy, and the shrimp were all hard. They were not deveined, and they were a weird color. They smelled terrible, so I threw them out. Now why didn’t the butcher guy notice this as he was packaging them up? Would HE serve those to his loved ones? I hope not. What a waste of $ 6. Sure, I could take them back(do people do that?) but it’s enough of a struggle getting through the store with a 9-month-old baby in the cart ONCE, let alone going back again to return something. Their dairy stuff is good, especially the Lucerne(store brand) milk, coconut milk, and butter. Bakery stuff is reeeeally good(I’m looking at you, donuts and bagels). But the final nail in the coffin of this store is the checkout situation. For a store that sees so little traffic, it’s astounding to me that they only have 2 checkout lanes open… ever. No matter what day or time, 2 checkout lines. After work rush? 2 lanes. After school? 2 lanes. 2 pm on a Saturday? 2 lanes. I get suckered into shopping at this store because it’s never super crowded and I assumed I’ll get in and out quickly, but with only 2 lanes open, it always takes forever to check out. I’m about done with this store. We’ve started doing most of our shopping at the King Soopers at 64th and McIntyre, which, despite being busy as hell most of the time, at least has an appropriate number of checkout lanes open.

I got great Bread at this store. The French Biguette was perfect. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I asked them to add sesame seeds and it was wonderful. I have found it hard to find good bread in Colorado. Thank you Nadia And it’s only 1.25 a loaf!!!
