This store has problems, staff issues, and product issues. On more then one occasion I have got something off the shelf and it was expired. I have overheard staff being rude and customers basically being blown off. I don’t make this safeway my go –to especially when king soopers across the street has better deals, better sales, and the I feel better quality. The only exception is fresh garlic. I don’t know why but the garlic is more flavorful and it lasts just a little longer from safeway. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend this store. *the only other exception would be the starbucks– there’s hardly ever any issues at this starbucks inside the safeway*

When I first came to this neighborhood, I shopped here regularly. I appreciated the cleanliness of the store and the friendliness of its employees. Now, however, this Safeway looks like a store on its way out. The store has a grubby look to it. Many shelves were empty, and there was trash on the floor. Even with a few people in the store, I waited in line a long time. Several Safeways in the metro area have closed. I got the feeling that the staff here thinks they might be next.

This Safeway grosses me out. It has the most disgusting bathrooms; there is always trash on the floor, used tampons everywhere and something is always broken. I don’t know how the employees can stand to use them. The prices are way higher than anywhere else in the area. The meat is always super fatty and not worth the money. I would rather go anywhere but here. Plus, there is always a super long line in the one or two checkouts open. Seriously bad customer service.

Apparently the store manager has never walked across the street to see how far behind their deli is compared to King Soopers. Fail.

I will usually stop by on Fridays for their Friday specials, and that one day is plenty for me. Store never seems very clean and never enough check out lanes open. There have been the same checkers here for many, many years and you can tell they are burned out and could care less about customer service!

Ha! This is a weekly stop after the gym either in the early AM or late PM and although we’re familiar faces with most of the staff, we still get followed around like we’re going to shove egg whites and cottage cheese down our spandex pants. It’s the most hilarious, worst stake out attempt by employees ever! I understand that you have to watch out for the true thieves, but come on, we’re not the individuals you have to worry about.(I think they have an issue with thefts here, because we’ve seen other customers stalked as well) Just because I may have crazy hair and a sweaty face from having my hoodie on as I train like a beast, and walk like I just got Charlie horsed in both legs because I squatted your body weight and then some, doesn’t mean you have to walk the same isle I’m in repeatedly like you keep forgetting to put something away… garsh! I think I have like 12,876,564,548 Safeway points since I shop ya’ll 3+ times a week to feed my high metabolism and healthy diet… give me a break. I think the focus need to be directed towards your dairy isle. Many of the cottage cheese and yogurt items are beyond expired and not tossed. Even some of the backstock is expired. It’s scary. Watch the dates on food items, especially those that are perishable, you may end up with one that has a new colony of bacteria forming in it. On the flip side, they do have a better selection of organic products than the other Safeway on Federal.

i have been shopping at the 80th and wadsworth store in arvada for years. NEVER have i been treated so rudely. by the customer service(that is a oxymoron with this woman) rep Sarah. needing to make a return, without a receipt, she informed me that this particular safeway instituted a new policy of no returns without a receipt. asked how long this policy has been in effect she told me for almost 4 months. i KNOW that i have made returns within this time period without a receipt and received store credit. when i informed of her of this she questioned this by implying that i was lying about it «you must have gone to another store to return a item» which I KNOW is not true. When i asked her the store manage name she told me who it was but i could not contact the manager,. when i asked her name again — she pointed to her name tag and said phonetically SA-R-AH. as if I was not intelligent enough to understand her saying this in a normal voice. I don’t know how long this woman with a teenager like attitude toward customer service has been working there– but she should NOT be the face of customer service at the store. There are many more experienced and well mannered clerks at the store that should be there before her. In the future next time I see her there and i need attention I am walking out the store This would never have happened at your local competitor, King Sooper, and in the end this type of «customer service» is is why King Sooper’s parking lots are full and safeway’s is 2⁄3 empty

This Safeway is in my old stomping grounds. Never had a problem navigating my way around the store. Its clean and everything is well labeled aisle wise. And as a Safeway Prices cant be beat. But the restroom needs attention badly. The toilet was broken and well Ill leave it at that.

Dear Safeway on 80th — Clean your ‘effin’ rest rooms! Bowl shit stained, lights burned out, dispensers falling apart or missing parts, doors don’t lock. Disgusting. A clear indication that the managers don’t give a toss about their customers. I will be watching… Take care of it slackers. MMcG

I shop at this Safeway most of the times. They usually have the advertised specials ell stocked and the staff here are very friendly. I do shop at other grocery stores like KingSoopers and sprouts, however, when the price is the same I’d go buy from Safeway. Their produce are good quality. Safeway has been improving its products and services, the prices on some items are best even comparing to Walmart.

Without a doubt, the nicest, cutest, smartest and quickest checker at the self-checkout lane. No name tag though… so there goes employee of the month.

This Safeway is the most convenient for me in terms of getting into it and out of it on my way to work in the morning. It’s there — luring me to the east side of Wadsworth with it’s easy turn. I’ve learned to resist it. As another reviewer said, the managers seem to take pride in never opening another lane. This Safeway also has the world’s nicest but slowest checkers. At 6:45 in the morning with the whole day ahead of me I’d rather not start behind. I’m pretty astute at estimating time it will take to make a shopping trip. This store foils my estimate every time and it all comes down to the sweet, p a i n f u l l y slow checkers. Of course, there is a self check stand. But it’s never open in the morning. Why would people want to get out of Safeway quickly in the morning? Back to that matter of pride of not opening another lane I guess. Pluses: –nice checkers –awesome corner of natural food full of vegan, gluten-free and other wonders. This little mini-store within the store is way cheaper than Whole Foods as well. –Starbucks right there on your way out –location/traffic flow in and out Minuses: –Busy –Long lines with slow checkers –Self-check is not usually open –FINDINGTHINGS! Granola bars are split between 3 areas and they are all across the store from each other. I rarely need store employees in other stores but here I almost always need one to find something the first time. –Overcrowded shelves. I just want toothpicks. You can keep the treasure hunt. –Inconsistencies. Sometimes they stock dry ice. Sometimes they don’t. It just depends on how they are feeling about dry ice at that time.

So I go to use the Coinstar last night with squirmy toddler in tow. When I arrive, they’re pretty busy. I go to the machine and dump my change in and then stand there and watch while nothing happens. I can’t walk away because all my change is in there. My daughter is playing the game where she has no musculature and is flailing around on the floor, hanging from my hand. I’m doing my best to send out the«Please help me, I’m in a bind» looks to every Safeway employee I see, but they’re all acting like I’m invisible. I know several of them saw me. We made eye contact. Grr. After five minutes or so, I give up and undertake the process of scooping several months’ worth of change back into my cannister and go over to the customer service window and stand there. You know, where there’s no one. Several more minutes pass and the manager(who’s been ringing customers) has to get a money order for someone and saunters over. «Oh, have you been standing here a while?» «Um. Yes. Your coin machine isn’t working.» «That’s because it’s not turned on.» Chuckle chuckle. OHREALLY. He goes and grabs a key and turns on the Coinstar. And then disappears. It takes the machine almost a minute to process my change and then spit out a receipt for me to get my cash. And, oh look, no one’s at the customer service counter again. I drag my daughter, Quasimodo, back to the counter with me and reestablish myself as the helpless girl in need of assistance, complete with look of desperation. By now, the checkout lines had shortened significantly. A cashier sees me and takes pity on my situation and calls me over. As she’s taking care of my transaction, she asks me if there’s a bell on the customer service counter. I tell her that while I did see the sign to ring the bell in case no one was around, that no, there was no bell. She then rolled her eyes and told me that the managers have a tendency to HIDETHEBELL so they don’t have to deal with customers. She is the only reason this place didn’t get one star. She was even sweet enough to apologize on behalf of their rudeness. I should have gotten her name. Super awesome. Hi King Soopers and Sunflower, how YOU doin’?
