I love the food and the service! My favorite shabu place. If you haven’t been here you definitely need to try it out!

I came here for my best friend’s birthday, and I was REALLY impressed with the quality of meat they had. It tasted all like premium meats, and I’m really happy that we had dinner here. I really recommend the yojie meat set(get the sumo size plate!) with the sukiyaki broth. Very excellent and very filling. Definitely go if you are considering it!

I always take my girlfriend here because she loves the sukiyaki. I don’t know if they changed management but everything was different except the meat quality. We’re so disappointed and will probably never come back. Changes that we notice: 1. They charged us $ 1.29 for one extra sauce. 2. We usually just get one hot drop per sauce, we had to do four this time and it was still not spicy.( it’s completely watered down) 3. Ponzu was super water down as well 4. I probably only got like 7 cabbage leaves and 4 little strands of noodle. 5. The sukiyaki broth wasn’t even sweet and their was barely any broth. We left hungry and very dissatisfied. Goodbye Yojis we will not be back.

Absolutely a new fan! All kinds of tastiness. Glad we stopped in for a Friday night dinner! I picked the geisha angus beef in a tonkotsu soup base! It came with vegetables and noodles, brown rice and two sauces. Although we had to wait for seats, we didn’t have to wait too long.

Great quality of meat here! My friend recommended me to get the sukiyaki which was a great choice. I’ve had sukiyaki at other spots where it didn’t taste good. good job Yojie!

Atmosphere: came here with fam. First time having shabu shabu. Pleasant restaurant. Vibe is relaxed and comfortable. Service was good. Food: I ordered the Kobe beef samurai. Being that it was my first time at this I was a bit hesitant. But after playing around with the spices and sauces I finally created a yummy soup.

I used to love this place and now I’m just super disappointed with how bad the service has gotten. Me and my friend sat and watched everyone get served without being offered water or a menu. Not only that, my friend ordered the veggie medley and they were out of broccoli & tofu among other things. How!!! In MY plate of veggies, they only gave me 2 strings of udon noodles! We watched the same waiter walk past us without ever checking on us. I had to ask multiple people for the same thing over and over again! Definitely disappointed with my visit here after not being here for so long. It also took 20 minutes to get our check back correctly because the original waiter who brought us the check came back out saying someone else would help us bc he was going on his lunch. Not coming back.

This is my first experience with shabu shabu so I have nothing to compare it to but this place was delicious! They give you a raw egg to dip your cooked meat in. I was a little weary of it but it was very good and I thought the price was decent. Probably cost me about $ 15(for lunch price). I ordered the Yojie’s Cut, size: Geisha. It’s 5oz of beef and it doesn’t sound like a lot but once you get the rice, veggies and noodles, you realize it’s the perfect amount. More than that and it’s just too much meat. I also chose the Sukiyaki broth. Absolutely delicious! Everything tastes so fresh and good. I think the quality is worth the price. Service was pretty good, they are patient and teach you how to do everything if you have any questions. One girl did accuse my friend of putting pepper/hot sauce in her broth and complained about her eyes burning because of it and acted irritated with her. It was my friends first time and she hadn’t even touched anything yet so that was rude and we explained we didn’t touch anything. She just walked away but came by later and sort of apologized.

Sooo… definitely one my odder shabu experiences. Tables off to the sides don’t seat anyone, so, you put your name on a piece of paper. No one greets you. Nice music just overall a really quiet setting and the AC was cranked a little too high. Like no one inside had removed their jacket. So you get seated and the hot pot is about a full arms length away making eating from it a bit difficult. I got sukiyaki broth which was great! They start you off with less broth rather than more, again odd. They give you udon noodles with the veggies which was the only real reason I could see for the high prices. Average shabu runs $ 15 – 16 for beef, this place runs $ 19-$ 22 — there isn’t anything special about the meat. Again only reason I saw for this was for the udon which I could have done without for the savings. Udon is like a mini second meal and again, not necessary. Rice noodles suffice, which are included. Spinach was also not washed and cabbage pieces included way too many spine pieces with little leaf. Overall, there’s better shabu in the area for a much better price. Remember, shabu is partially an experience and this place overall has good broth – that’s it.

I like shabu shabu where the broth is flavored so I was happy to see that they offered that option. However, they give you little broth that by the end, I didn’t have enough to add my noodles and remaining meat. Meat and veggie quality isn’t bad, but limited portions. However the service is wonderful, and all the servers were really nice.

Yay! I’m a fan! I’m so glad I finally found a shabu house that I like in this area! The place that originally made me like shabu was Shabu House in Little Tokyo so you can only assume that everything I tried after was mehhhh for me. Nothing really lived up to my expectations. Until Yojie. Woohoo! First off, this place gets packed! We came here on a Tuesday night and luckily just beat the dinner rush. As soon as we sat down, we saw the line/crowd forming so eat early or late if you don’t want to wait. They have a few locations: Artesia, Diamond Bar, Los Angeles, and one recently opened in Vegas. I think if you’re able to start a franchise out of your place, the food must be atleast decent, right? So tried this place out, and really enjoyed the food. I got the prime rib with with the shabu shabu broth(I usually like sticking to the basic). They don’t have the option for lean meat, which I always order at any shabu place I visit. However, the meat was still fine. It is a little fatty and it would’ve been nicer if there was lean meat but the quality was still good, and the vegetables were fresh. If you enjoy eating the udon noodles with your shabu, make sure you get extra! For $ 2.49, you get a small bowl of extra noodles. There are only about 3 – 4 strings of noodles that come with your vegetable bowl(a little cheap with it) but if you want more, they atleast offer that option. The only reason why I gave this place one star less is because(a) 5 stars means you really blew it out of the water for me. shabu house is a 5 star shabu place for me and almost certain no other shabu restaurant will reach it. This place is no exception. It’s good but not as good as I know it can be. And(b) the service was not great. We had to wait atleast a good 10 minutes before someone even took our drink order. Once we placed the order, the food came out quickly, but placing the order and drinks was a b*tch. Server was not rude, but he FORSURE was NOT friendly. I don’t mind this as much though as some people. Just don’t be rude, and be fast. I hate slow service. In conclusion, I will still be on the search for some other good shabu places in this area but this place is a safe pick!

I’ve had shabu shabu before and I remember it being better and having a bit more food. We ended up going to in and out after spending over 175 between 6 of us

This isn’t my first shabu shabu but my first time was horrible. I came in here not thinking I’d have a great experience, yojie proved me wrong. I normally get the Geisha size since it’s already a lot. It’s equivalent to Boiling Point’s one serving size. If you run out of broth, they’ll refill it for you, free of charge. The meat selections are a bit limited but my top picks are pork belly and salmon. Veggie options are available. If you’ve never been to a shabu shabu, they’ll explain it to you step by step and answer any questions about the menu. Basically, you can have broth or grill the meats on your own.

Yojie, I love you. Although a little on the expensive side, you really can’t compare. Everything here is just fantastic. The cuts of the meat, to the broth. The sauce on the side for you to experiment, I love it all. I like mixing the minced daikon into my ponzu sauce. I then add green onions and their house special hot sauce. Beware though, the hot sauce is really spicy. It’ll catch you outta no where and you’ll be screaming for water. I recommend getting the samurai yojie’s cut with the spicy miso.

Great place for shabu shabu! Great service! I came here all the time. I always order yojie cut samurai with shabu shabu and sukiyaki. For dessert, I tried the ube ice cream and the strawberries with green tea white chocolate. — Shabu Shabu: it is a kombu seaweed clear broth. It comes with two sauce, citrus-soy ponzu and white sesame goma sauce. I love these two sauces! I usually add green onion, daikon, garlic and some spicy flakes into the ponzu sauce. The ponzu sauce is great for meat and the sesame sauce is great for vegetable. — Sukiyaki: it is a sweet taste broth. It comes with a traditional fresh egg and you can dip your meat inside. This broth enhance the sweet taste of the meat! — Ube ice cream: it got a sweet potato taste and I can taste the sweet potato bits, real good! — strawberries with green tea white chocolate: the green tea white chocolate was unique. The green tea taste reduce the sweetness of white chocolate, and they match really well together. **all entrees come with vegetable, noodle and rice

It has been many years since the first time I have ever shabu-shabu at Yojie. I have also tried many other shabu-shabu restaurants since then but Yojie still remains my favorite. Yojie always gives me both quality food and great customer service. Yojie has quality meat and the vegetables are always fresh. Their dipping sauce including the ponzu is so good. Ponzu sauces at other places seem to be a little too sour for my taste but Yojie always gets it right. I think that’s what always brings me back. It compliments the meat and vegetable so well. However, if you are having a sweet tooth I would recommend their sukiyaki broth. I don’t remember any other shabu-shabu restaurants having sukiyaki broth in their menu but Yojie does. It is absolutely scrumptious especially when it is paired with a pasteurized egg as your dipping sauce. Something about dipping the meat/vegetable after it was cooked in the sweet broth into raw egg excites my taste buds. It’s like a creamy sweetness in your mouth. As for the environment, it is a little small where all customers would sit side by side in a circular seating. But, I know Yojie has another location in LA. I heard it’s larger but I have yet to try it. Enjoy!

Now that I’ve been around(with other shabu restaurants), I realize that all I’ve eaten here is the sukiyaki. I’ve never done the original type of broth or anything else other than sukiyaki, so the previous 5 stars was just for the sukiyaki itself. However now I realize that this is the only place that I’ve had sukiyaki… And so that’s what makes it good to me LOL. If it comes down to going out and eating any type of shabu, Yojie would not be my top pick. Lunch menu is cheap. Meat quality is not up to par with other shabu spots, but they do give you a lot. That also depends on how many ounces you order too though of course. The cuts of meats here seem thinner and smaller compared to other shabu places I go to, but I really have no complaint about that because I actually prefer it since I usually cut my meats smaller anyways at the other places. Here, I don’t have to do that and all my slices of meats are ready. I still love the sweetness of the sukiyaki here. Their sauces are okay, definitely not my favorite. I wish they still did the free green tea check in, it was such a nice drink to have for free. Anything free is good right? lol Although I do like the sukiyaki here, I’d prefer other places’ shabu over Yojie’s. I’m giving Yojie 4 stars for their sukiyaki, however it’s really just 3 stars for overall shabu.

I shabu shabu quite often when I know its a diet friendly meal. I sometimes don’t get brown rice to have less carbs when I already know I am having udon soup towards the end of the meal. I like to always use sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, turnip, green onions in my kombu broth when I like lots of flavor. I think the more traditional way to shabu shabu is just plain kombu then dip your meats, veggies or seafood in ponzu or gomaz sauce then eat it. I like to add 1 drop of hot drops in each dipping sauce when I know it can get too spicy with too many drops your sinuses will be draining. The Yojie Angus Meat and Atlantic Salmon I had was sliced very thin that when you pick it up you have to be careful or you break it in pieces even after its cooked. Food was very fresh and good. Try the über ice cream its a little sweeter a small amount to fulfill your sweet tooth. This shabu shabu restaurant also has the option you can do barbecue instead of shabu shabu. Restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean too.

This is the first time I tried Shabu Shabu and it will not be my last. First of all, the place is super clean and everyone greeted us when we came in. Since it was our first time, the manager went over everything and he even prepared some sauces for us. That was a good start. I got the grill option and hubby chose the hot pot one. We chose beef and salmon. The manager went over to teach us how to make the salmon, since it’s cut sashimi style, it needs to be poached quickly, it is then thrown in the yummy sauce and then in the rice. Salmon was super delish. The meat was also yummy, I grilled some and then threw some in the hot pot. I preferred the grilled one a bit more. The meat came prepared with some spices, he heard hubby didn’t really eat spice so he gave us some regular meat at no charge. Now that’s great service, he didn’t have to do that but he went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. I also tried the green tea ice cream for dessert and it was yummy and super sweet. I love sweets! Great food, even better service. Francisco is an awesome manager! I will definitely keep coming back!
