I would put lower rating if I could. RUDE! 4 adults and 4 kids. Sat at a big table but felt crunched so we moved to 2 separate back to back booths, each fits 4. The lady came by in dissaproval even though there was only one other table w customers in the restaurant and the rest was empty. She told us that it was easier for her if we sat at one table and that groups do that. We said we were not comfortable and if we couldn’t be comfortable we would leave and she said she’d rather us leave! Interesting business model.

I can’t speak to the drinks — beer or margaritas — and our experience here is fairly limited, but we have enjoyed it. The chilaquiles we got were very good, if nothing fancy, and all the other food was quite good and enjoyable, if pedestrian. The place itself has been empty the couple times we’ve been, but service was very friendly.

Just recently stopped in to give this place a try. The wait was long, and as we sat — there seemed to be a lot of tables waiting to be served. After about 40 minutes, we were seated. It took another 10 to get water and another 10 to have our order taken. We waited 30 minutes for the meal. I ordered a fajita salad with sour cream — there was a lot of chicken, little lettuce and a horrible dressing at the bottem. This was the worst mexican meal I have ever had. My daughter had a burrito and my husband had carnitas — both mentioned my mexican cooking was better. I never received my sour cream — and just made sure it wasn’t on the bill. There was a table of 10 college kids next to us. They were served in shifts — with one diner receiving his 2nd burrito before the man on the end was served his first. He finally received his dinner after everyone was finished. My suggestion– go home and make a sandwich!

You can’t get hard alcohol in your margaritias here. I prefer the Blue Frog experience in Arnold over Pablito’s. It has been a year since i have been there — I dont remember the food as being«outstanding» or poor. I just remember the ‘ritas as being awful.

After being awed by the ginormous sequoia’s in the Calaveras Big Trees State Park, BF, his folks and I headed to Pablito’s for a cold one and whatever came in a tortilla. BF’s ranchero plate was about as ginormous as that last sequoia we saw and the beef was really tender and tasty. His mom also loved her spicy chile verde burrito. Step Dad and I were less impressed with our combonaciones. I actually got the enchilada rancheros. The ground beef filling was not great, but I thought the enchilada sauce was pretty taste. The beans(pintos, yum) were good, but the rice was blah. S-Dad got a cheese enchilada and taco. He said it was alright. Since there’s not a lot to choose from, especially in the way of Mexican food, in Murphy’s/Arnold/Big Trees area, I’m sure I’d go back and try something else, but if this place were close to home, I wouldn’t go back. My Teacate was served in a very cold can with a small chilled beer glass. I prefer my beer in a bottle and served with a larger glass, but I appreciated that both were very cold. Service was very friendly. We arrived(at 2:30) and were the only one’s in the place. There were two more parties by the time we left.
