This is a great little cheap eats. What im holding in my hand is a bbq sub with coleslaw. Now it may not look very appetizing but it is indeed tasty. The service heere is really good. The worker was really nice. Sevice with a smile… Just how i like it.

Awsomeness in a bag! This spot has been around past my creation. Haven’t been since I was a kid. Still great!!!

It’s a hole-in-the-wall, but a damn good one it is! No shoes, no shirt, no problem here – considering there is no indoor seating. In fact, you order outside as well. I picked up a Bologna & Egg Sandwich for breakfast and it was great! Not much to say about the customer service since it only takes all of 30 seconds to order pay and move to the side for the next customer to approach the window. I did get some smiles out of the staff, so let’s say 5 stars for that :) The sandwich was good, but the Bologna was cut very thin so it wasn’t a true fried bologna sandwich. Pricing is a bit steep for what they’re serving, but all in all, can’t complain! I’d go back again!

I went to Weenie Beennie’s this Tuesday morning before I went to work for breakfast I got there around 6:15 am. I ordered two bacon breakfast platters with eggs scrambled with cheese. With the platter you are suppose to get double meat, eggs, home fries, grits and toast. I asked the guy did he have grits this morning because the last time I got the platter he didn’t give me grits because he didn’t have any, not only did he not have any but he didn’t even let me know that he didn’t have any. So this time I asked and he said no he didn’t. Then he said I didn’t know that you wanted grits I told him«I asked for your breakfast platter which says I will get, double meat, eggs, home fries, grits and toast». He said okay give me a couple minutes. At this time I was already mad because I had been waiting for 15 minutes at the time plus the wait for the grits. Finally after the grits were done I got my food and left I dropped one platter off to my friend then I went to work. At this time I was already late to work. So when I got to work I got a call from my friend asking did I eat my food I said no just getting to work. My friend tells me well it’s nasty and everything is pretty much burnt. So I get settled into work and open my food up and like my friend said everything was pretty much burnt. THEEGGSWEREBURNTANDDRYANDDIDNTLOOKLIKETHEYPUTCHEESEONTHEMLIKE I ASKEDTHEHOMEFRIESWERENOTGOODANDBURNT, THEBACONWASBURNT, THETOASTTASTEDSTALEANDTHEGRITSWERENOTDONETHEYWEREGRITTYANDLUMPYJUSTNASTY. OVERALLMYWHOLEBREAKFASTWASTERRIBLE. After seeing that I called back to speak with the manager and told him everything that was wrong and asked if I could bring it back and get a full refund. I told him I dropped one of the platters off to my friend but I still have mine and asked would still be able to get the refund for the BOTH of the platters he said YES just bring yours back and I will give you the refund for the TWOOFTHEBREAKFASTPLATTERS. I said«ok fine cool.» I told him that I will not make it to him by the time he closes because I don’t get off until late that night but I can bring it to him the next day he said ok that’s fine. So the next day I bring him the food and told him who I was and etc. He then goes and says a refund for one I said no you said I can get a full refund for the two of my platters and he goes and say well I only see one so I’m only giving you a refund for one. I said but on the phone you said something different and I explained to you what happened. Then he goes and says well you said it’s a lot of things. I said your right I did say a lot such as the eggs being burnt, my bacon burnt, home fries being burnt, bread being old and the grits being lumpy and not cooked all the way so yes I did say a lot. Then he kept saying well I’m only giving you a refund for one and kept arguing with me so I told him you know what I’m not going to keep going back and fourth with you just give me my refund so I can go and that I’m NEVERCOMINGBACKHEREAGAIN.

I don’t know why it took me so long to try Weenie Beenie given that I’ve lived within walking distance for over 15 years, but given all the self-induced hype(how could you not like a place called Weenie Beenie?), I was slightly let down. I love a good half smoke and hot dog stands in general and while it wasn’t bad, it didn’t blow my socks off. There were more onions than chili sauce or mustard, and they’re chopped so large they dominate the dog. I definitely wasn’t a fan of the fries which were thick cut wedge fries with a spiced coating, not crispy in the least. Next time I go, I might ask for them go light on the onions and up the sauce and mustard to see if that makes a difference because sooner or later I’ll be craving a hot dog.

I go the«chili» dog with onions. I would call it more like chili flavored onions. C’mon people, you can do better than this.

Pretty good. Service fast. I have only had the Carolina BBQ sandwich. Enjoyed it. Great for lunch when you are in a hurry.

Not good! Service was rude and horrible! Food was old and soggy, I had to throw out the lettuce and tomato, it was old and gross buns were soggy. Didn’t taste very good either.

Me: Why is this the first time of us going here? Him: Because their closed on Sunday’s, so I forget… The only downfall is them being closed on Sunday’s, but I respect a business that stands by religion. Best hot dog in the D. C area hands down! :)

Staff is friendly, food is good, and service is fast. What more could you ask for from a hot dog stand? I’ve not tried the breakfast menu, but I’ve heard it’s good. Our go-to items are the pulled pork, the chicken sandwich, the half smokes, and of course the hot dog. no complaints on the price. :)

Came here for their hotdog, and it was more than a-ok. It’s a good sized shop in a corner next to a parking lot, and although there were tables on the side, it was too hot so we stood in the parking lot and inhaled the hotdog. We got classic hotdog and chili dog all the way, and they were both decent, although I felt like my chili dog needed more chili. Service was not the friendliest but we got our orders quickly, and they were kind enough to get us a cup of water when we asked for it. At $ 2.57, I would definitely go back for another chili dog!

I’ve lived nearby for a couple years now and never been here so I decided to take advantage of the day off and walk over for breakfast. I’d read good things about the chili half-smoke so I opted for that over one of the more time appropriate breakfast sandwiches. I got mine with just chili and onions, skipping the mustard and relish which would complete an «everything» order; I also got a medium coffee. Total came out to $ 5 and change — they do accept credit cards. It seemed a little small, and I would have liked more chili. However, it was very tasty and I gobbled it down fairly quickly. Next time I might try it with everything. I would also like to try some of their other offerings. Overall, recommended for a quick bite to eat if you’re in the area.

Curiously delicious hot dog. I was craving a hot dog and Unilocal took me to this place. It was all local utility workers ordering, then me. Super old school take out and I only wanted a hot dog so I didn’t explore the menu but I’ll definitely be back to do so. The staff was super friendly and all the customers appeared to be regulars.

The lone survivor of a once mighty chain, the Wennie Beenie has fed generations of hungry Arlingtonians. The half smoke is excellent(though I must try it with egg next time) and the sausage and egg sandwich – a breakfast classic. The WB is itself a place from another era, attracting guys and gals in suits and ties, working folks and locals. My kind of place!

As far as local hole-in-the-walls go, Weenie Beenie is a gem. Behind the quaint façade lays the best half smoke in DC. Yes, it’s even better than Ben’s. The loyalty Weenie Beenie gets from locals is like the cult following of a movie like Rocky Horror Picture Show. Since the establishment has only a walk-up window(and two outdoor picnic tables), Arlingtonians brave the summer heat and sudden downpours for their half smokes. Foo Fighters write songs about it. Czech presidents eat there. Weenie Beenie was my go-to comfort food while living in Shirlington, and since moving, I find a way to get back there any way I can. It’s a must-see when visiting the DC area(and a necessity for those living in the area).

I am new to the area and happened to be working off Shillington. I forgot to pack my lunch and didn’t want the same ol’ subway lunch. I searched Unilocal and the reviews spoke for them self. It was also within walking distance of the office I was at, a additional bonus for the new girl in town. I couldn’t decide what I wanted so I got a half smoke fully loaded, a cheese burger royak, home fries and sweet tea. I knew I was getting way more food than I could eat but it all sounded good. Being from MN I had never even heard of a half smoke but Holy moley that was delicious and gobbled up before I could blink. The cheeseburger and home fries were delicious as well. The sweet tea was perfectly sweet but not too sweet and the service was friendly and fast with a smile. I think it would be deliciously dangerous for my waistline if I worked near Weenie Beanie every day but definitely enjoyed the treat and will get it again next time I am in the area.

Mmmmm! I’d always passed by Weenie Beenie but never had the opportunity to try it as they close pretty early! I got my chance tonight as I was in the area. The guy in there was friendly and stated that they’ve been around since 1954. There seemed to be a lot of locals coming in to get some orders to go. There is some limited tables outside to eat your food as well. They have burgers, fries, hot dogs, as well as breakfast items(in which I’ve heard was pretty popular). I tried their half-smoke chili dog(you can get everything on it, which is mustard, onions, and relish; I opted for just the chili and raw onions). The dog itself isn’t too big, but I thought it was a cute size; it tasted great! I liked the savory chili on top and the raw onions complemented it well. It was slightly salty and the dog was cooked perfectly ;D I also got a side of onion rings that were forgettable. I would definitely come back here if I get a half-smoke chili dog craving! Cute place! +chili half-smoke dog ;D

I stopped by this little place after getting an emissions test across the street. I had a half chili smoke and onion rings. Pretty good for the price. The chili was slightly greasy(as it should be) and the sausage was about the best I can remember having on a bun. The only reason I knocked a star off is I wish they had some better condiments. Is it too much to ask for Heinz ketchup(THE only acceptable ketchup) and decent brown deli mustard? Still, everything else was so on point I’ll come back when I’m in the area and need a quick bite!

Delicious half smokes and onion rings! After riding my bike past this place on the W&OD trail several times, and seeing it on Unilocal,I had to try this place. Didn’t know what to expect, but thought maybe it can give Ben’s Chili Bowl a run for it’s money. Gotta say, the chili half smokes exceeded my expectation. They cut it in half, and grill it so it’s charred in the middle, this gave it a lot of flavor! I wish they weren’t so cheap on the chili, it was very little, but overall a very good half smoke for half the price of what you would get at Ben’s. It’s not as good as Ben’s chili bowl, but it’s pretty close.
