The saying of you get what you pay for is definitely correct in this matter. I got the regular buffet with a water and the total was $ 7.97. The selection of meat is not quite appealing to the eye. As some the fish looks as though its been in the freezer for months. The chicken and the beef look like sun dried frozen jerky. The vegetables if anything is the only fresh thing on the line that looked like it was safe to eat. Tip: If you want you can request rice or eggs when they cook your food.

Incredibly dirty facility. Not only that, but I ended up with food poisoning almost immediately after leaving. If you have bad food allergies, don’t risk it because you will end up with items in your dish that you did not select. Will not be returning.

Outstanding venue to eat Mongolian style food, you can go all fish or all beef or mix it up which ever way you go the selection is huge, And your appetite will thank you for the visit.

Good to go if you need a lot of food cheap and fast. Normally do takeout but if you dine in you also get free ice cream(great for a toddler)!

Very good Mongolian BBQ but service is consistently bad. One server for the entire place! Even though you go through the line and make your own meal, server brings drinks, soup & rice. This really can’t be done by only 1 person. Saw a man wait 5 minutes to pay for his take out while the cashier tried to help the overwhelmed server. They’re lucky the man just didn’t walk out.

Two stars for cleanliness and food quality. When my mother and I walked in, we had never felt more unwelcome in any restaurant before. The cashier, cook, and waitress all gave us a serious concerned look, like they thought I was a suicide bomber, and I only look a little Arab. I can’t even imagine what they would do if a full on Osama bin Laden walked in! They’d probably all jump out if the Windows!

A-ok. Anyone who’s been to a tons knows exactly what it’s about… lots of food and watching them cook it in front of you. This is a basic Mongolian restaurant — noodles, meat, baby corn. Kind of like McDonald’s for Asian food. There’s nothing wrong with Mcdonalds. It is what it is.

Food was good but boy is this place filthy. We tried to tell the staff, but, they do not know English. At all. I will go to another Tons but not this one. Get it together.

Nope, nope, and nope! The concept is there but everything else is soooo wrong. The owners need to make a visit to a HuHot and see how this is meant to be done. The food quality(freshness) seemed good but the cooking technique destroys any flavor that was there. Sauces are limited and seemed watered down. Staff is about as friendly as a rock. Needs more and better sauce flavors, a bigger cooking area, cooks who understand what type of food they are cooking and how long things need to be cooked, and the whole place needs a good scrub down and some fresh paint.

Tons. So good. I want to start off with all the bad. The bowl creations line was dirty. Like more than usual. Someone had gotten oil on the side and pushed their bowls thru it so it was all over the counter top. The meat needed to be replenished. They added teriyaki sauce :) and at the table they use to automatically serve egg drop soup but now you have to ask. A little pepper and a swirl of soy and you’re set. I like to get the shrimp, sausage, chicken, and mushrooms. My normal liquids are hot oil, sesame oil and garlic(scoops down below to get actual garlic minced up). Head over to the grill and ask for 3 eggs and rice(they have noodles at the service station, but you can only get rice from the grillers). They cook it was you wait in line and when their done they will ask if you want sesame seed it spicy oil. Very simple. Great Flavors. I’ve been coming here since I was at least 12 :)

The concept is pretty neat, but it’s not my kind of place. You get to mix your food, which is great. You walk down a buffet like station and pick your meats and vegetables. Then, and this is the part that I don’t like, you start mixing your sauces w/your food. I’m not a chef, so I don’t know what portion of sauces and what types go best w/my selection of meats and veggies. Therefore my food didn’t taste very good. Average at best. But it did look like everyone else was really enjoying themselves. The staff was nice and very attentive. So, if you like to mix & match, and then watch someone else do the cooking this may be your kind of place.

Great place to eat. Be sure you visit the one on Green oaks(Debbie lane has less variety & a bit more expensive) Overall this is one of my favorite places to eat!

Here how I would explain this place. Great food and very fresh. The people are polite. Now if you are a foodie this is not the place to go. If you are comfortable with tv dinners, fast food this is the place for u. Very oily, salty and just simple grilled food. If u value central market, or the fresh exploding flavors mongolian food generally has to offer this I not your place.

I do not see what delicious food everyone is raving about. The food is very mediocre and average. I don’t know how but it feels too salty and bland at the same time. Their food has this sort of burnt aftertaste. The service is very good and attentive, but then again we were the only one there along with another group on a Thursday night. The only thing I like about this place is their fried rice and sausages

I may have been spoiled from eating at genghis grill but I thought this place was terrible. Nothing was fresh. Frozen vegis, frozen meats, not much variety. You have a choice of noodles or rice(but you have to ask for the rice). It’s my first and last time here. All you eat but you’ll get sick of it halfway through your plate. Soup was bland. Service was okay. They’re not friendly.

We’ve been coming here for years, we’ve always loved their food, service has always been mediocre. We went today and it was horrible! Service got even worse! We had a big party with kids, and the server stood there arguing with our friend about the size of drinks we wanted to give the kids. She kept insisting(with limited english) that 8year olds get a big cup, and we wanted a smaller one to avoid extra energy and chance of spilling. Finally she got what we wanted, except for one drink that was a full size, and what happened? Yes, the whole cup spilled everywhere! If you have kids you would understand the drama of soda spilling all over a kids pants! I put it behind me and got over it because we are here for the food, and that part is usually great. Not today. The food had an after taste, Not sure if it was the oil or not. I asked two guys to refill the mushrooms and they never did(I love mushrooms). The cooks at the grill did a pretty bad job, my friends food had a bunch of black stuff on it, I’m guessing the grill residue. And you know the tap water after taste you get when it hasn’t rained a while? I tasted it in my food, maybe the water they’re using to grill needs to be changed. Needless to say my friend didn’t eat any of her food neither did her husband. The bathroom situation wasn’t any better, the area before you even get to the bathroom smelled horrible, not to mention the bathroom itself, very appetizing… not! We were pretty disappointed since this is our go to place whenever we were in Arlington. We were here late last year and it was great, I have no idea what happened but they need to get it together because they will be losing customers for sure!

Great service but the presentation was poor and the taste of the food is sub standard. I was so excited to eat here because of the good reviews but leaving so disappointed… the only reason for 2 stars is because of the service.

Who can pass up a restaurant where you get to pick what is in your entrée? Ton’s has been a favorite of mine for years. You go down a buffet line and choose all the raw ingredients you want and they grill it up for you on a round grill. If they are busy, you wonder how the heck they know which food goes to which customer, but they never get it wrong. At the end of your meal they offer you ice cream, which is so yummy, so at least try it!

OK, I love this place. I came here on a whim with one of my friends in high school and totally fell in love. So, the way it works is you get two bowls to fill up at the buffet and then they cook it in front of you on a huge drum grill. Some people try to get fancy, but I find it’s best to keep it simple. One bowl for noodles, everything else in the other. Don’t overthink it, y’all. Whatever you put in it will be delicious. I always get noodles, a few meats, a lotta mushrooms, broccoli, and then put a splash of all the oils they have.(Some people try to get fancy here, too. The oils all mostly cook out. If you’re lost, just use a little of everything.) When you go up to hand them your bowls, you can also request rice and/or egg. I recommend both, so good. Like all buffets, you will have SOMUCHFOOD. It will be crazy. Getting it to-go is a like $ 2 more than dine in, but definitely worth it. I literally get four meals out of the leftovers. If you dine in though, they give you soft serve ice cream at the end of the meal. So, it’s sort of a wash. You can do all sorts of varities, of course, but the way I best describe this food is salty and greasy in the best way. Comfort food. Quite possibly the best hangover food as well. It isn’t a fancy restaurant, just low-key, possibly family owned. Always pretty clean!

Ew save your money and go to the buffet on Cooper close to Room to go you will get way better food for about the same amount of money.

Decorated in light green paint, this place might remind you of a cheesy cruise boat. But rest assured the all you can eat portions will make up for the poor décor. Choices of meat include chicken, beef, porc, shrimp, sausage, and squid, I think, not sure. The food is great. We were offered a starter of soup(egg drop or hot and sour) and a desert of ice cream. For the price; 3 people for $ 26, we were very satisfied.

Definitely is a Mongolian restaurant, so the format is what you would expect out of one, but why go here? The PRICE. It’s about $ 8 for lunch, so for as much as you can eat, that’s really not too hefty of a price. They offer you either a bowl of egg drop soup or sweet and sour soup with your meal as well as a bowl of rice, so don’t feel reluctant to order it since it’s free! They don’t offer too many sauce choices or choice of starch with your meal, so it will likely just be spaghetti noodles and choice of soy sauce, oyster sauce, vinegar, sugar water, etc, but they do offer a pretty decent selection of meat and vegetables. Everything you put in your bowl is then stir fried of course, and they are true to the Mongolian grill style of stir frying everything on the grill, so don’t be surprised if something on of your friends put in their bowls end up in yours, but just be mindful if you are vegetarian or don’t like water chestnuts to see something in your bowl that you didn’t put there. Overall, not too shabby of a place and the service was decent, so for the price tag, definitely worth the try of you’re hungry for some Asian flavor! Oh, and the ice cream is FREE as well, so when they ask you if you would like some, feel free to say, «Heck yeah!»
