This is a good place for takeout sushi if you want it fresh(i.e., not from a major chain grocery store). I do not have a refined palate when it comes to sushi and I tend to think it is all delicious — Sushi 2 Go was no exception. I had the eel roll, tuna roll, and spicy salmon, all of which were delicious. You can watch the sushi chef make your order fresh and it shows in the taste. Unfortunately, I seemed to stop in at the wrong time. There was only one sushi chef working and many people in the store. It took about a half hour from the time I made my order until I received my food. I don’t dock them any stars for this, but it’s worth noting that you might want to call ahead if you are looking for a quick bite delivered fast. Despite the long wait, the service was terrific. The woman running the counter made me feel welcome with a few jokes. She was also quick to refill the miso soup pot when it was running low(the miso soup is self-serve). Her energy made it easy to wait for my food. The best part about Sushi 2 Go is the price! I ordered the three roll lunch special combo for $ 10.99, which includes three regular rolls and miso soup. The two roll combo goes for $ 7.99. I will definitely be returning to satisfy my sushi craving.

Casual sushi, sashimi, and donburi dishes. Korean manager and her cook keep the place clean. Not the best sushi but convenient for subway commuters. Based on one takeout order, the rice is seasoned too sweetly and some scales were left on the salmon skin.

I like this place. If I want decent sushi in a pinch to take home and don’t feel like sitting down this is my go to place. The price point is spot on, and the sushi consistently good. The King Tuna is probably one of my favorites here.

This place is located right next to the Ballston metro. As well, if you’re driving up — there are several parallel spots on Fairfax drive. The restaurant itself is cute and clean. It seems like a husband and wife duo(which I enjoy seeing). My sushi tasted great and it was exactly as I ordered. Do know that the regular rolls are 6 pieces(as noted on the menu). So if you’re looking to fill up — I’d buy 3(coming from a 155 lb male). I’ll be going back this week for their lunch specials! Note: They do have a $ 5 minimum for credit cards.

Fast and friendly service, phenomenal rolls, super fresh fish. Thrilled with my large takeout order for six people.

Sushi 2 Go is exactly what you want it to be. Good sushi at a reasonable price. Great for takeout. It isn’t Nobu, but it scratches the sushi itch for about $ 20 per person.

Just tried the place next to the Ballston metro for the first time cause of the Unilocal reviews and I’m very glad I did. This is the best sushi spot I’ve tried in Arlington bar done. Got the red dragon roll which includes spicy tuna, unagi(eel), salmon, avocado and roe. Really muthufarkin good. And the lady that runs the cash register is wildly enthusiastic — much respect.

This place is great, and astonishingly the quality seems to be improving –unlike most restaurants that open at an all time high and then steadily decline to an afterthought. We get sushi here at least once a week, sometimes three.

We went here to check out a new local place and we were fortunate enough to get there and grab one of the 3 seating areas to enjoy our delicious sushi. The couple that owns this is extremely friendly, and they serve very fresh sushi. I ordered a Sashimi plate which would have been $ 20, but the woman taking my order told me to take a look at the Sashimi plate in the take out section that they just finished making — it was fresh and saved me $ 4 so I grabbed it to sate my hunger while we waited for the rest of our meal. The only parking I saw was metered street parking, but the shop is right at the metro exit, so it is great for commuters using the Ballston Metro stop or visitors staying at the Hilton Arlington! We will definitely go back here when we’re looking for a fair priced sushi fix! Support your local Mom & Pop shop :)

Great hole in the wall find with very friendly service. The owners opened up shop about 5 months ago and so far looks like their friendliness is winning over customers. It was a rainy Saturday late afternoon and we were looking for a quick bite to eat, nothing too fancy but still decent sushi and Unilocal led us to sushi2go. Parking was ok since it was the weekend but I can imagine it being harder during the week– so probably best to metro it here if you can. You can probably seat about 5 – 7 ppl so definitely don’t plan to dine in with a large group. It was the 3 of us and we fit into a tiny corner. The owners were super gracious and told us about their specials(refrigerated sashimi platter is a bit cheaper and still made that day) as compared to a build your own. The miso soup is almost all you can eat– there is a big pot there that you self serve but I think the limit is 2 – 3 bowls. We ordered 1 sashimi platter with mostly salmon, 1 refrigerated sashimi platter, a red dragon special roll and a spicy tuna roll. Total was about $ 68 but we all left feeling pretty full. Owners were super nice and made us hot green tea as well though it’s not currently offered in the menu. I would definitely come back if in the area. The sushi was fresh and friendliness was appreciated. Prices are pretty typical, maybe a few bucks cheaper.

This is such a cool little sushi shop, right next to the Ballston metro! I wouldn’t have thought to come here if I hadn’t read the rave reviews on here. I ordered the creamy garlic spicy tuna roll and the yellowtail roll to go. I was very pleased with the garlic roll — the sauce is sweet and creamy but not too heavy! They also sell mochi ice cream in various flavors. The woman who works the register is adorable and very nice. I’m interested in trying the lunch combo, which is reasonably priced.

I moved from Philly a few months ago, the land of 3 for $ 10.95 sushi rolls, so when I arrived in Arlington I was disappointed in both the price and the lack of good take out sushi spots. Upon seeing Sushi 2 Go pop up as a new restaurant and with such good reviews, I knew I had to try it. I think I’ve been there twice now. I pretty much stick to basic rolls like salmon avocado, yellowtail scallion, and tuna. The tuna hasn’t been my favorite, but the salmon is great and so is the yellowtail. It’s not the best sushi in the world, but it’s fresh and cheap. Definitely better than supermarket sushi.

I would have to say that I was very impressed about this place. Its cheap and good quality. and I CANNOTFORGETABOUTTHEIRUNLIMITEDMISOSOUP. The miso soup was not salty(I think the owner got the feedback from another rating) and their spicy tuna roll was on point. The fish didnt taste refrigerated nor had a funky smell or taste. MY $ 60 meal(I promised it was shared amongst the three) was on point. The best bang for your buck especially in the Arlington area. **i think i read earlier someone had posted the reason why they wouldnt give an extra star was bc of the deco and the unlimited signs. I totally understand its your opinion but dude the restaurant says«SUSHI2GO» for a reason, and I believe their conception is about being quick and fast-not to sit down and have a casual conversation with your girlfriends or have a date night. ** ANOTHERDISCLAIMER: the location of this place is a little tricky. Its right in front of the Ballston Metro or around the corner of the Hilton hotel.

Sushi 2 Go just opened on the ground level adjacent to the Ballston Metro on the Fairfax Drive side. The place is a tiny hole in the wall where you can get(hold on, you won’t believe it…) sushi 2 go! Prices were cheap! $ 4 for simple rolls and $ 7 – 8 for special rolls. The rice was stickier than what I’m used to but the fish was great for what you pay… it’s a steal! I was the only one there but the sushi guy was expedient and I was out of there in under ten minutes just $ 11 poorer. The pieces are generously sized and considering you can pay the same amount at Whole Foods for very mediocre sushi, I’d say, this is awesomeness! Again, the place is tiny. There are no tables, so you really will want to take it to go. Although if you really wanted to eat there, there are maybe three chairs that edge the room with a wall bar.

Four stars for four pros about this place: 1. Cheap with variety. Who doesn’t love cheap food(that won’t give you stomach aches!) This place offers your typical salmon roll and California roll. They also have some special rolls such as the Maryland Roll and King Tuna Roll. The prices range from $ 4 to $ 8, which is cheap compared to restaurant prices. They also have a few rice dishes but didn’t have the chance to try any. 2. Convenient. It’s located next to one of the Ballston Metro entrances where all the food trucks are usually located. Ideal place to grab lunch if you work in the area. The containers are specially designed to pack sushi with so nothing gets squished. I noticed they also have seaweed salad, edamame, and some of the usual rolls like the California roll already packed in to go containers. This is definitely a pro during rush hour. 3. Excellent quality. The rolls are pretty good for a «sushi takeout». The rice is not stale and you really don’t need soy sauce nor wasabi for the rolls. The flavors are balanced with the right amount of each ingredient and sauce. Everything tastes fresh, crucial for sushi since you are ingesting raw fish. 4. Nice staff. Well, technically two workers. There is one chef and one cashier/everything lady. Both are very nice. I watched the chef make each order with care. Maybe that’s why they taste good… The missing star is for the amateur interior design. The lady said it has been opened for almost two months. I understand if you are still installing new cooking ware or refrigerator, but sticky notes for signs?! Everything is labeled with your favorite colorful office sticky tabs. I had to take a double look to notice the price for the drinks because the prices are written ever so discretely on the stickies. And if everything in the fridge is $ 1.99, you just need one sign and not a whole bunch of $ 1.99 stickies for each type of drink. It looks unprofessional and silly actually. I am very excited to have found this place. Definitely will try other items on the menu to see if the place can keep up with my initial rating.

The rainbow roll was fresh delicious and so reasonably priced at only 8 dollars. All specialty rolls are 8 dollars and regular rolls only at 4 dollars! If they don’t raise their prices, I would come here everyday for a quick sushi fix since Arlington seems to be lacking GOOD sushi restaurants

Best bang for your buck sushi in the area. Good quality sushi on the cheap. Large variety of rolls. Made to order or pre-made sushi also available. My new go to place for lunch when I’m in the area. Dear owner: Miso soup was way too salty. My suggestion: Dilute soup or use less miso.

Just ate at this hole-in-the-wall place and it’s on par with a lot of good subway sushi joints in Tokyo. I have been looking for a good sushi place in the DMV area since I moved here last September and would pay for shit sushi because I didn’t know any better. Who cares what the inside looks like? This place does really well for a small joint. It has a sushi chef and a cashier. I can see how they’d get bombarded if they had a lot of customers, which they did today. But I didn’t have to wait very long ATALL for my rolls. Can’t be the price. The service is quick and nice. You could sit outside on the benches or they have a small bar towards the back of their place. This place definitely deserves five stars for its quality and price is hard to beat. Hella cheap. Well played, Sushi 2 Go. Well played.

Yum! So excited that there are more Asian options in Arlington nowadays. Sushi 2 go is a much needed addition. I’ve ordered the angel hair specialty roll(imitation crab, avocado, shrimp tempura and cream cheese), eel and avocado roll, and seaweed salad. All were fresh and delicious, and reasonably priced. I am not a huge sushi fan but the angel hair roll was so delicious that I will definitely be frequenting this place, especially if the other options are as tasty. It is a takeout place but the quality and presentation was a step above any of the other sushi takeouts in the area(and the sushi tasted better than some of the sit-down restaurants I’ve been to). They have quite a variety of sushi and sashimi options as well as bulgogi and chicken teriyaki combo boxes. Also, the lady who works there is super adorable/sweet.

Yassss — love the concept of this place! Fresh, fast, cheap sushi in my neighborhood! The only reason for the 4 star review rather than 5 star is that they seem a little disorganized… They’re new so hopefully they’ll work this out. But there was no clear line when I walked in and people were kind of just standing around. Also no one greeted me upon entry. It’s a really small hole-in-the-wall place with just 1 sushi chef and a little Asian woman manning the cash register and handing out the orders. Also it’s a little bit dark in there, with black paint on the walls. The sushi was really fresh and tasty though. The sushi chef is also SUPER fast. But the best thing by far about this place, is the pricing! $ 4 for the«regular sushi» rolls, such as salmon avocado, eel avocado, california roll or spicy tuna avocado etc. And just $ 8 for the«special» rolls, like the rainbow roll or lobster roll. Those are some great prices for the quality. I’ll def be back soon whenever I have a sushi craving(which is often).
