I’ve loved this place since it replaced Celebrity Bakery and have taken countless people there but over the past year the freshness of the food has declined greatly. Tonight I ordered the Monterey sandwich(my favorite) to go and when I got home it wasn’t what I expected at all. It’s supposed to be open face, turkey bacon and jack cheese with lettuce, tomato and avocado. My sandwich had dry bread on top, no avocado and the bacon was really off(something I would throw out in my house). There was only a bit of Monterey sauce for all that rye bread which was very dry. I also purchased a strawberry cupcake that was dry and somewhat stale and a cream puff. I get the feeling that all baking and cooking is done on Sunday when they are closed and served throughout the week. Hardly the«fresh» food they claim to serve. It’s not just my purchase tonight, but over the past year it’s been the same thing — stale cookies, dry cake, stale petit fours, etc. This was my last visit to this establishment. Customers deserve so much more.

My husband and I stopped in about 15 minutes before they were closing. The guy at the counter was really nice and sold us some desserts to go. We got a variety of items to try throughout the week, and the strawberry cake and chocolate thumbprint cookies were definitely my favorites. We look forward to coming back for lunch or dinner next time.

Great pastries and nicely decorated. The décor is pleasant. I have brought cupcakes, red velvet cake and Italian cream cake. All excellent quality and delicious. I plan to by a cake for Thanksgiving.

Ate breakfast here. They have a small selection of pastries and cupcakes as well as drip coffee. No lattes here, which is saddening. Not really a nice place to take your laptop or a book and chill out. I had the mini cheesecake and that was really good, and the coffee isn’t bad either. But not really a café in the traditional sense.

Food was very good. Went of Unilocal reviews and panned out. Very friendly staff and then the food puts it over the top!

Social Bakehouse café is a quaint little place, for a quick breakfast, brunch or lunch thats not to be missed. Right down the road from the Cowboys stadium, or the The Ballpark in Arlington, it sits in Lincoln square. My sister and I stopped here for breakfast before our morning walk on a Wednesday morning. The restaurant had quiet atmosphere with soft piano music playing. We had a whole section of booths to ourselves, so we didn’t feel disturbed by others while we enjoyed our conversation. There was also a great little patio out front to sit on… but too windy for our liking that morning. This I ordered the Florentine Sand which and ate the entire thing of course(had to get my strength up… exercise you know!?!). Scrambled eggs, smoked bacon, sundried tomatoes and swiss cheese on sourdough, served with fresh fruit and the CUTESTLITTLE banana muffin you’ve ever seen! My sister had the Texas feast with Rosemary potatoes, smoked bacon strips and two eggs over medium. Top that off with our coffee and we weren’t so agile on that walk we were headed for… The gentleman who waited on us at the cashier, where we placed our order was very sweet, commended our choice of breakfast, quickly brought us our food and then quickly removed our plates when we were done. This is the second time I have visited this establishment. The first time we went the employees were so kind to my three year old and even gave her a free sunshine cookie for«good behavior!». We will be going back for a third visit soon.

Service was friendly! The man at the counter was nice and engaged in casual discussion so I had high hopes for my order… sadly disappointed. I ordered a chai tea that was much too sweet and just not good, it tasted like one of the pre packaged teas that you just mix in water. Secondly, I ordered two cupcakes red velvet and chocolate. I have to say never in my life have I thrown away a cupcake… But this was horrible. The cake was dry and tasteless and the frosting was super crazy sweet and you could still feel granules of sugar or possible they had dried out and turned hard. Maybe it was just old cupcake. Regardless, it was a very disappointing dessert. I gave it a extra star solely for service.

Love bringing my kids in for pastries! Arturo is a great«human being» that works behind the counter for the owner, so if he’s not the smiling dough boy for you«every» day, remember he’s trying to make a living and he’s down-to-earth Great!!! We love their mini-cheese cakes and everyone seems to love & want the Chicken Enchiladas to go. Btw, cheesecakes go in the refrigerator… But someone Unilocaled that it melted on them — Duh! The bars next door may be packed and loud — if that’s what you want! For a nice quiet place to have hot soup, a quiche, dessert and coffee… Head here! Cheers!

What a sweet little bakery. I really had no idea what to expect before I came here, but now that I’ve been I really like it and can see myself returning often, as long as it’s nice and quiet like when I visited. This is truly a bakehouse and café. The menu is much larger than what you’d think upon first entering when you see all the little sweet treats behind the glass. But they have a full breakfast menu complete with build your own omelettes and pancakes, and then paninis, wraps, sandwiches, soups, salads, pasta, meatloaf, chicken fried steak… it’s pretty extensive. I went with the build your own omelette which came with a side of either fruit or rosemary potatoes. I’m totally a potato person, so I chose those immediately and I’m glad I did, they were really tasty and I ate them all. I had my omelette stuffed full of sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms and cheddar cheese, and it was delicious and huge. I couldn’t eat it all. I checked to make sure they don’t put any pancake batter/wheat in their scrambled eggs like lots of places do to make them fluffier/go further — don’t worry. Regular ol’ eggs here, natural and lovely. My sister ordered a turkey wrap which looked great, and then my 3 year old niece shared with us and had a couple sugar cookies. One of the employees even gave her an extra cookie, just for being good, which was quite sweet. The service was very sweet and attentive overall, and I like the laid back atmosphere. You just go up front to order and pay, then pick a table and they’ll bring you your goodies. Spotless café as well. Sparkling clean.

Great sweets such as cookies, cakes, petit fours and pies grace the menu at Social Bakehouse, as well do sandwiches, soups, salads and casseroles. Flavored(not sweetened) ice teas and coffee are offered too. You can even bring home entire pans of entrées to bake in your oven for a sort of home cooked family meal. My favorite meals are the ham pear & brie sandwich, the turkey, apple brie sandwich and the chicken spaghetti casserole(basically chicken tetrazini). Of the desserts, I’ve like all that I’ve tried, but I’m pretty partial to the thumbprints, iced sugar cookies and the Italian cream cupcakes. This is a nice alternative to Panera and La Madeleine, and although the menu and offerings are *very* similar to Outta The Oven in Las Colinas, the food seems generally fresher here. The friendliness of the service varies from visit to visit, but nothing that leaves a strong enough impression to either rant or rave about it. en extra bonus is that they frequently have Groupon deals, so you can give ‘em a try without forking over a huge chunk of change. Bön appetite!

We arrived literally 2 minutes before opening to eat breakfast. The door was unlocked, but as we opened it, the manager shouted«We’re not open!» We waited outside until 9:04, but were shouted at again that they were not open. Upon questioning, we were told it would be a few more minutes. We started to sit down to wait but were told we could not wait inside. We went ahead and sat down — we were bothering no one. The manager was again rude and stared at my husband in an aggressive demeanor. He told us at 9:10 that he was now open. At that point, because of his rudeness and unprofessional manner, we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere.

I came in for a quick lunch, and everything was spot on. Manager was very friendly and helpful. He knew all the regulars and greeted them by name as they came and went. I ordered the recommended turkey and Swiss on rye. It was a simple sandwich, the way I would have made it at home. Turkey was fresh, sliced from a roast, not deli meat. Nice thick tomato, and a big leaf of lettuce. Delicious little zucchini muffin on the side. I also had a lemon bar, and it was very tasty. Could have been a bit more tart, but that’s just my personal preference. Various flavors of fresh brewed iced tea were unique and refreshing. Free refills appreciated. I would definitely come back here again. So glad I didn’t opt for Panera across the street!

Walking in during rush hour to find a place DEADEMPTY when literally all the other businesses in the strip mall are being swarmed by the after-work crowd isn’t the greatest first impression. I walked the entire depth of the eerily quiet shop to get to the back where the counter is while the man at the counter ignored me. He eventually did greet me, but he was so joyless and I felt so unwelcome, I really wanted to just turn around and leave. But I ordered a petit four, a double chocolate cupcake, and a mini cheesecake to give them a fair chance and then got the hell out of there. The petit four had a decent cake and filling-frosting inside, but the coating-frosting was indescribably weird tasting. Maybe licorice is the flavor my mouth was trying to tell me? I still can’t place my finger on it, but it definitely didn’t taste fresh made, tasted more like something you buy in a tub and then nuke. Plus it had hardened so dry and crumbly. The cupcake had, again, weird flavored frosting. The cake was not like cake, it was like a muffin: moist but heavy and thick and firm. I decided to just eat the frosting off the top but I ended up just throwing it away. I wish I could describe the odd taste… Like sour? Not like cream cheese sour though. I had specifically asked what type of fat they use in their frostings bc I hate shortening and dislike cream cheese icings, and he said they use a French style butter, so if there was cream cheese in the icing he should have told me, because gross! The mini cheesecake was just ok. If this had all been about a third of the price it’d be OK, but they charge an ultra premium price. That, combined with the utter joylessness of the staff means that this place is a SKIP!!!

Wow incredibly rude man answered the phone when I called to ask a question. Decided not to eat there because of his bad attitude.

I like to give places the benefit of the doubt so when I saw the living social deal I went ahead and purchased even though I saw the poor reviews. I ordered the chicken sand which and a slice of cake and then he proceeds to tell me(I’m assuming the owner from the reviews) that I have to spend the entire $ 20 ok cool; so I order another lunch item to eat later he still says that I am not at $ 20; ok cool so I say add chocolate chip cookies; he adds 3 and then tells me I owe him 92 cents I’m puzzled because I purchased the deal for a reason. I tell him as such and he takes a cookie off and slams my receipt on the counter and was visibly upset! Mind you he had me waiting at the counter to order for about 5 min. Please do not I here and give this man any business! I haven’t even tasted the food yet and I can tell I will never step foot in this establishment again!

Stopped in for a solo breakfast today around 9:30am and was the only customer. I was greeted immediately by a soft-spoken gentleman, who quickly took my order. They offered decaf, Columbian and Hazelnut coffee, of which I selected the latter. Piping hot and very delish! Silverware, napkins and water are all self-serve. In about 10 minutes, the gent brought me a plate of Popover Eggs Benedict. The popover is split, then layered with thinly sliced ham, perfectly poached eggs and a delicate and amazing Hollandaise sauce. The light popovers stood up to the sauce without adding too much bread, as I think the tradition English Muffin does. The eggs were poached perfectly, just runny enough to mix with the sauce and firm enough not to disintegrate when stabbed by my fork. For dessert, I selected a vanilla bean cupcake and a strawberry cupcake, both of which I have not yet samples. Based on the quality of my breakfast, I expect these to be yummy as well. If you’re in the area, please stop by for a quiet, delicious breakfast and enjoy yourself as I did!

Overpriced meals. I spent $ 9 on a scoop of tuna salad. It was supposed to come with a fruit bowl but instead I received half a strawberry, one cantaloupe cube and two teeny pineapples. It was put in a small dipping bowl! Really?!? The tuna was supposed to have tomatoes, avocado, and carrots on the side. I was shorted on that as well! One avocado slice and two carrot sticks. Not worth almost $ 10! Plus the guy at the counter was rude. If you just want pastries, it’s semi decent– but dot expect to get the bang for your buck. You’re better off eating at Panera across the street!

I like this place for baked goods I never thought about having lunch or dinner since there are so many more choices around but if you want some sweet with a big variety I would suggest Social Bakehouse. The selection and the taste hasn’t really changed since it was Celebrity Bakery. I love the Strawberry and carrot cakes and the pies are to die for. All the baked goods are delicious, the cupcakes the cookies. I’ll return again and again especially when I have a groupon. There are a few reviews about the service well I have never experienced anything but stellar service.
