If this is what dining looks like in the future, count me out. Food options are limited in the A concourse so we opted for Reservoir. Don’t look for a server as the Ipad at every seat does the trick. Pick and choose, slide your credit card(they don’t accept cash) and wait for your food to be delivered. The only plus is that there is an outlet at every seat for charging of phones, laptops, etc. I opted for the prime rib sandwich and since I wan’t expecting much, I wasn’t terribly disappointed. The prime rib was tough in spots and lacked proper seasoning. Fries were fine. I was hungry and this did the trick. Would I ever come back? Nope… I would ensure I was well fed before flying in or out of the terminal. This place is utterly devoid of character and feels soulless.

Terrible concept Attempting to replace servers with I pads Servers(who were friendly and helpful) spend more time explaining the technology than it would take to just order . Restaurant clearly focused on ad revenue from I pads, Food pretty good Service staff very pleasant Why rob pleasant, caring folks of opportunity to talk directly with customers! Dumb.

It’s a nice place to eat before a flight. You order everything and pay through the ipad’s on the tables. It is a little hard to get the attention of a waiter. The button on the ipad to call a waiter didn’t work for me. There were 2 really good things we had at Reservoir… — Calamari was very tender, nicely fried, and super yummy! — The Crispy Brussel Sprouts were also really tasty and had a wonderful flavor to them! We also got the Prime Rib sandwich and a tuna nicoise salad. Both of those were just ok.

With all the bad reviews I feel that I should post about our good experience here, which may or may not be the exception. Flying on Christmas Eve, was happy to see a new place to eat in Terminal A. If you’ve ever flown this Terminal regularly at DCA, you’d know that the choices were absolutely dismal, between the greasy pizza and the horrible Sam Adams pub food. I was excited to see this place that reminded me of Paul Bakery, hopped up on technology steroids. I know a lot of people did not like the iPad ordering feature but the complaints reminded me of my grandparents complaining about how to use an iPad. It’s not that hard. Just take a second and look at what you’re doing. You’ll see that the 18% gratuity is NOT mandatory as one reviewer said. It just defaults to that. But guess what? All the other percentage options are RIGHTNEXTTOTHE18!!! The iPads are just on stands on the table, they can be removed and laid down in the table so as not to block your view of the person sitting across from you(unless you want to!). A few quick taps and a swipe of the credit card at the table, and our food(croque Madame and French onion soup with Belgian fries) were served in less than 7 minutes. And the place was packed with Xmas Eve travelers. Soup could have used some more salt, but the fries and dipping sauces were great. Service from the hostess and the waiter was friendly and full of smiles, however the food runner did not look pleased to be working at all. Prices weren’t the cheapest, but airport food never is! Regardless, if I’m looking to eat in Terminal A, I’ll definitely come here.

Two stars is generous. It started with a hostess directing me to sit at a seat with a broken iPad. Oh, the this is an order by iPad only type of bar. That didn’t work out so well for me. I found myself a new seat and ordered a beer flight. The beer flight was served with a Miller Light… that’s an excellent craft beer. There are runners taking food and drink orders to customers in their seats, but the interaction ends there. Absolutely no aspect of service in this place For future trips out of the A terminal, I would recommend showing up and not planning on eating or drinking before the flight. Service onboard the airplane would be heaven compared to this.

This was the only place to eat in the area besides a Dunkin Donuts that was out of cream cheese. We split a croque madame sandwich with fries and enjoyed the meal. Not healthy, but very filling which is great before a flight. I didn’t like the ipads blocking the view across the table but we moved them sideways and that was somewhat better. Surprised to see the terrible reviews, we didn’t have the ability to check Unilocal before eating here. It must be random because our food arrived hot in around ten minutes with no issues. The fries were really greasy and some were overcooked but basically what you expect from fries. I would recommend the sandwich though, the ham was of really good quality and the egg was cooked perfectly. We were really hungry, but one meal was sufficient for both of us because the sandwich was really big.

This place makes you want to take a hammer to every piece of technology ever invented. Every seat is equipped with an iPad for your order. You must follow the online menu and add items to your order. We ordered 2 burger build own way, side or Brussels sprouts, side of root vegetables and a egg/ham sandwich dish. Items are quite expensive l. We didn’t see the kids menu until after all was ordered. You have pay with a credit card to place your order. God help you if you make a mistake or forget something. Careful, they will want you to tip in advance too. It defaults at 18% but you can dial it back. The sprouts came first and they were edible but the shallots were completely raw. Thrown in after the dish was cooked. 10 min later the root vegetables arrived. A little on The oily side but tasty. Shortly after the two burgers came. Each of the dishes came to us from a different server so we had no clue who our server really was. One missing the tomatoes. Waited 25 mm for the egg sandwich. Never came. Asked for refund so we could catch flight. A bit of luck we ordered the main menu burger so the other parent could finish their burgers and fries which are decent portions. Others in the restaurant were walking around looking for servers to ask about their meals. This is in an airport. People need to catch flights. It’s as though they are oblivious to this fact. They did refund us the meal we didn’t get but not the tax and tip associated with it. Food was oh at but the whole ‘do my job for me and place your own order’ is a soulless experience. Opt me out next time. I rather go hungry.

Worst… Service… Ever! Where to begin… Well, it began by being verbally assaulted by a French woman whom the host tried to seat the two of us next to. She was taking up 4 seats and started verbally assaulting us and the servers around. Ignorance has no borders. After being seated elsewhere, we placed our order and our side dishes came about 5 minutes later. With a promise that, «your entrees will be right out». … Fast forward 45 minutes later(and multiple inquiries to «where is our food?). All met with puzzled looks and disappearing servers. They brought French fries out to appease us? Which we hadn’t ordered. And 15 minutes later our sandwiches came. Unapologetically. I witnessed 3 other tables with similar disarray. One guy had to catch a flight and they had trouble refunding his order. Yeah– cause you pay up front. And an automatic 18% gratuity is selected and added at the time of order. We were just in awe how a restaurant can be this horribly managed. But considering it’s a captive migrant airport patron– there’s no need to change or improve. Ugh… I can honestly say this was the worst service ever experienced.

1 star food at 4 star prices. I had the build your own burger. It was $ 15 including the automatic gratuity. The order came with exactly 11 french fries. Expect small portions of below average quality food. I awarded them two stars instead of one because 1 of the 5 servers I encountered was nice. I hope you have an enjoyable flight.

Food wasn’t that great, but very expensive. Same with the booze, and we ate half our meal before we got our drinks. Plus they expect a normal tip on an expensive meal when all the servers do is bring out your food and drinks. They don’t even ask how your meal is or anything after you’ve received anything. Eat before you get to the airport, this place isn’t worth half the money we payed.

New place in Terminal A of Washington Reagan National Airport. Had the Steak Tartare, which was great– capers, minced onion, the works! Finished with an enormous White Chocolate Bread Pudding– plenty for two, maybe four people! Staff and manager were outgoing, friendly, helpful. Will be back to try other menu items!
