I never leave reviews but I am going to leave this review so hopefully they can make some changes that will help their business in the future. Honestly, It was the worst massage experience ever because a massage is supposed to be done in a warm and comfortable environment, and I did not feel comfortable at all. First of all, the therapist was late, and was still setting up when I walked in. The room was cold, and the portable heater wasn’t much help. I am not a smoker and it does not bother me when others do it, but I do not expect to smell smoke when I walk into a massage room or to see the therapist spraying air freshener to cover up the smell of smoke. What if the customer have allergies? I was led into the massage room with only blinds, no curtains so it was very bright in there even with the blinds closed. When i got on the table, the sheet smelled like smoke as well. The therapist walked in and took a while to start the massage because the therapist was trying to make the massage music work from a phone, that kept cutting in and out. Okay, so as far as the actual massage, pressure wise, it was good because I came in for a deep tissue and I got that. I had a problem with the therapist wipping my leg with a rough towel everytime an area was rubbed. The therapist only massaged the lower half of my hamstrings and kept the sheets covering the upper half. Ok, this is a professional business and if I strip down to my shorts that means I expect the parts of my body that are exposed to be massaged. The therapist spent way too much time on my calves, and even after the therapist massaged the lower half of my hamstrings, the therapist still went back to my calves. So the whole 60mins were spent on my calves, the lower half of my hamstrings, my back and a little on my feet. I was never told to «flip over» or turn around. I thought that was univeral. The therapist did NOT massage my quads. Why would you only massage one side of a client’s body? Especially if I stated that I am a runner? At this point it made no sense to mention my concerns to the therapist because I just wanted to get out of there. I will suggest that the therapist get a massage therapist belt that holds the lotion and towel so that you’re not walking away everytime to get the lotion or throwing the towel on the ground. Also, if you just came from outside and was running late, please take the time that I’m getting undressed to change into some scrubs or massage-therapist like clothing. Just so you know, this feedback is coming from someone who has gotten worked on by some of the best therapists in the world, Olympic caliber if I might add, and also some regular, inexperienced therapists. I understand everyone has a different style but one thing that is constant in the massages I’ve received is comfort, and that, I did not receive from Myokneads.
