I give the salon 5 stars for actual haircuts… male and female. I have to take a star off for customer service. The first time I walked in, I vowed never to return, bc three employees were sitting at the front desk having a meeting; they all turned and looked at me, never acknowledging me, turned back and continued their discussion… so rude. I’ve only returned bc the haircut they gave my son, who has very difficult hair to layer, looked really good. Twice I’ve made appts. over the phone with a female, and twice I’ve shown up to find the appts. weren’t in their books. Fortunately both times they squeezed me in. The stylists are pleasant enough during the cuts, but they’re lucky they give great cuts or the lack of friendliness when I walk in this place would make me leave.

I’ve had two haircuts now with Attila and have been very happy both times! The first time, I hadn’t had a haircut in over a year and he did amazing things to help my hair, including doing a free keratin treatment on my ends. I noticed a huge difference. I just went back this week for my second haircut and he cleaned my ends up in no time, and once again my hair feels SO healthy and silky. We also made a timeline of haircuts for my upcoming wedding next year to make sure my hair is in its best condition ever. I trust him and his advice and my hair seems to appreciate it! They also provide a complementary beverage of water, tea, coffee etc.

Attila is great! He knows how to cut my crazy, wavy/​curly/​coarse hair… and that’s hard to find. He also found time for me in a short notice situation, which I really appreciated. Highly recommend!

My mom and I have been Atilla’s clients for 12 years and followed him from the Dc to his now falls church location. He is trustworthy, friendly, loyal, hardworking, and give wonderful customer service. I have never left his salon under 120% satisfied. He is super knowledgeable and has come through with exactly what I asked for but also most healthy for my hair. I trust his skills and knowledge and leave my hair in his hands and sit there peacefully knowing it will turn out great– and I truly feel that he is this way with all of his clients.
My latest visit today, I asked for a natural blonde ombré for my dark brown hair and he once again did an amazing job!
He knows a exactly what he is doing and he is great at it.
I plan to stay his client for as long as possible!

Going to Muse Salon was the worst decision I’ve ever made. I have been traveling home to get my hair done for the past 7 years because I was afraid of trying someone new who would ruin my hair. I finally decided to bite the bullet, do some research, and made an appointment with Atilla last week. TERRIBLE DECISION.
I don’t know who the reviewers are giving him such a good rating (although I’m sure he’s adequate for a simple male haircut), but he destroyed my hair. I came in with long, natural brown hair that is never heat treated, always air dryed and in fantastic condition. I put a tiny bit of color in it for the first time last year to get a slight ombré, and I came back in to have it redone and get a cut/​style. We discussed what I wanted and I said «I do NOT want chunky blonde highlights at the top of my head». I even showed him pictures, but the whole time he kept talking over me and trying to rush me into the chair, barely listening. He then grabbed a fistful of my hair, chopped it off and threw it at my feet. Next, he started testing my entire head of hair. I was horrified. Teasing alone causes breakage in the hair. I asked him why he was doing that, he said «it will make the color blend better and not be in an even line» so I let him continue (forewarning, this method did not work).
After the aggressive teasing he applied bleach to the majority of my head starting only a few inches from my scalp. After my wash, Atilla and his assistant ripped hair brushes through my wet, bleached, teased hair. Then he put me back in the chair and started chopping away. After a rough blow dry, I looked in the mirror and almost cried. Instead of the lovely brown to blonde ombré we discussed, I had thick streaks of blonde all over my head starting 2 inches from my scalp. It looked like I got a poor highlight job 3 months ago and it grew out. Now my hair is dried out and ugly, the texture, color and cut that I had before completely ruined. There is a distinct line around my head between blonde and brown with no transition whatsoever. And my hair now looks like straw from all the bleaching that i DID NOT ask for.
Atilla rushed me in and out for a cut, color and blow dry in just 2 hours whereas at previous salons my color has taken 4 hours and the cut 1 – 2 hours. He clearly has had no professional training whatsoever and is just looking to make quick money. I called him back to tell him how upset I was and consider having him fix it but again, he just talked over me, not listening to my concerns, saying «Oh just come in and we’ll put toner in, it’s no big deal». Toner won’t fix this problem, and it is a big deal. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. This is literally the worst cut and color I have ever received, and now I have to go spend $ 300 back home to get it fixed. In the mean time, if you see a girl walking around with cheap tacky do-​it-​yourself looking highlights, that’s probably me, feel free to say hi.

After moving from Texas and being here 3 years I have been scared of getting my hair done since I have had the same stylist for over 15 years. I went to this place and was really nervous. I needed to touch up my grays and highlights and needed a layered cut. I was really nervous when a lady came over and started to put dye in my hair as I did not know what was going on. I asked for clarification and Masis came over and explained what they were doing. After that, Atilla came over and proceeded with the highlights. Masis was great at shampooing my hair. Atilla did my cut and style as well. It was all very efficient in the process and I did not feel like I was sitting too long as I had in the past at my salon in Texas. They had everything done within less than 1.5 hours. I love the cut and the color and the style. Thank you to everyone. I will be going back.

Atilla and his crew are awesome! Would highly recommend for men’s and women’s cuts — he is great with both (actually got my wife to start going to him, she is very happy). Customer service is superb — from start to finish.

So my husband and boys would go to Atilla when he was located at Foggy Bottom. I never used him then because a woman’s hair takes much longer and parking was always a challenge there. A couple of years ago I called to make an appointment for them and they told me he had moved. Unbelievable but he moved from Foggy Bottom to Lee Hwy in Arlington. A stones throw away from my home. Great luck for me because I started using him.
I get stopped everywhere. Just last week I had to go to a new dermatologist and the nurse commented on my hair and when I went back for a followup she told me she had made an appointment. I have had two friends, loyal to their prior hairdressers, convert to Atila. I have been stopped by both men and women complimenting me on my hair. It is healthy and the cut is amazing. He sees me every 6 – 8 weeks. Once a year he does Keratin.
I will say though that staying out of the pool is one of his rules. So in the summer, I usually go to the pool and indulge right before my next color appointment. I also have to share that I use to think that stylists would push products but in this case, I do buy the shampoo and conditioner and my color does not fade. I don’t let anyone else use my products and it lasts a long time because the quality stuff tends to last longer.
I can’t believe I could have had this hair since 2006. Instead I suffered through bad color and haircuts because I didn’t want to deal with Foggy Bottom parking. So glad he made the switch and so did I.

Do with the color for my hair he went above and beyond by adding a bunch of pretty colors for my hair then to let him know when I would add more. I had 3 hair stylist working on me on Thursday it was great.

Writing my 1^st ever Unilocal review because Attila is truly amazing! I’ve been seeing Attila for nearly 8 years and followed him from Foggy Bottom to Arlington like so many others, because it’s worth every single minute to get there. You simply will not find a more attentive and conscientious stylist. Attila thinks of everything– from offering amazing Turkish coffee and wine and making you feel right at home to talking with you about how your color and cit will wear over time. The salon is clean and inviting, with comfortable furniture, friendly staff, and ample free garage parking. He’s even amazing with my three kids ages 3 – 7 and keep a discreet box of toys for them along with lots of lollipops. This is exactly the kind of small business owner worth supporting again and again. Give Attila a try– he’s simply the best.

My visit to this salon was amazing! I have never met a stylist/​colorist who was as knowledgeable as Atilla. I walked in with hair that was over-​processed and damaged and thinning… I was so unhappy with it. I walked out with beautiful, shiny, healthy looking hair. My haircut was perfect… beautiful, yet easy to style. The color is rich and natural looking. I am definitely returning and can’t wait for my next appointmnet. I chose this salon by chance because they use Goldwell hair color… I just wish I had found this salon sooner.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. What I would tell anyone wondering if they should try this place or not is this: «JUST GO». You won’t be sorry. Everyone is nice and professional… courteous and sensitive. Atilla is a ROCK STAR, although I don’t think he would admit to it :)
I’ve had a difficult time finding someone I trust with my hair, which is long and wavy, and can also be, I’m sad to say, frizzy at the best of times.
I like that I didn’t really have to explain things. Atilla took one look at me and knew exactly what to do and how to proceed. He listened to me, too, and helped bring out the me that I really am inside. Corny, I know — but true nevertheless.
So GO. Just do it. For yourself.

I have been a customer of Atilla for 12 years. It’s hard to believe:) He’s just amazing. He always does a great job with my hair. He’s great at coloring, hairstyling, and haircuts. Not only that but he is the nicest person. He is so easy to talk to. He really cares for you. You are not «just a customer» to him. I used to get my hair done in DC, but I followed him out to his new place, Muse. The staff at Muse is also exceptional. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. My whole family goes to Muse now as well. You can tell we have all become a fan of Atilla and «Muse».
I highly recommend it to anyone.

What more can I say, I love this salon! Atilla did an amazing job with my hair. I was recommended by two good friends. And boy were they right. I got my hair colored and cut. It turned out soft, silky, and most importantly HEALTHY!
During the whole process, he made me feel so comfortable. He’s very attentive to his guest. I was offered tea! At the end of the day, I felt amazing. It was worth my money and time.
I highly recommend everyone to go here if you want your hair done right.

I used to get my hair cut by Atilla when he was at a salon in Foggy Bottom, but I followed him out to his new salon in Virginia — it was totally worth it! When he left, I initially tried a couple of places around the District closer to where I live and/​or work (e.g., Bang Salon, Grooming Lounge). I wasn’t completely satisfied with my haircuts from those places, however — I didn’t feel like the stylists really listened to what I was looking for (or maybe they did, but couldn’t figure out how to put that into action). So I poked around and found Atilla’s new location and steeled myself for the trek out to Arlington. And I’m glad that I did. Atilla did as good a job on my hair as ever.
P. S. This salon’s location is on Lee Highway and a bit of a walk from the nearest Metro. But it is easily accessible via bus (take 3A, 3B, or 3E from Rosslyn or the 3Y from Farragut North). The eastbound bus stops about 15 feet from the front door of the salon.

This salon is fantastic. I got my hair cut there today by Atilla, the owner. I used to go to him when he worked at a salon in DC, and when he opened his own shop, it was a no-​brainer to follow him to Muse! Beyond excelling at the art of hair styling, he clearly wants you to be comfortable at the salon. He gets that beyond the craft, he is very much in a people business, and if he makes you feel comfortable with a complimentary beverage (including beer/​wine, etc.) and good conversation, you will enjoy yourself, return for repeat business, and refer friends, as well. Go to Muse — you will not be disappointed!
Side note — there is free parking behind the building in the open air lot and in the building’s garage.
