This was our first visit and first crawfish for the season. Pros: we got the spicy and they had a good flavor. Asking for dry Cajun seasoning helped take it over the edge. Waiter was very attentive. Cons: not sure if we got the full weight and the sides less than they should have been. Was told 1 corn, potato and sausage per pound. 5lbs we got 4 sausage, 5 potatoes(we knew they had no corn but said they would do extra sausage). After asking they gave is 2 more sausage and potatoes. Overall, it was worth coming back. Loved the flavor.

It’s a good thing I had not read all of the bad reviews on here before I decided to give this place a try. I believe in giving any business a chance, especially a seafood restaurant, which there aren’t very many of in South Arlington and Mansfield. I went here for lunch one day and everything I had was very good, including the very creamy and buttery lobster bisque and the crabcakes, which were mostly lump crabmeat and not stuffed with a lot of other ingredients. They were tasty. The crabcakes were served with some marinated cabbage and carrots and pieces of Romain lettuce, which I used to make myself crabcake lettuce rolls. My suggestion to the management would be to include some healthier grilled options and offer Stevia as a sweetener choice. I hope the other complaints that are mentioned here on Unilocal get resolved because I would like to see this place make it. Unfortunately it has a negative against it already and that is this location. It seems that once a restaurant fails repeatedly in the same location, that it carries a stigma with it makes it hard for future businesses to succeed. There have already been many restaurants in this location, that have failed. That is sad because it’s really a good location.

Not good. Don’t do it. Hubby went in for take out since it’s close by our house. Food was overpriced for the quality. The lobster tail had a chemical taste to it and I spit it out immediately. Catfish was really greasy and salmon was dry. I wish there was a Pappadeaux in S. Arlington!

Had the combination Shrimp and Catfish on the lunch. Both appeared to be over-cooked and tasteless. Breading was a cornmeal base with unusual seasoning, OK for Catfish but not Shrimp; again both tasteless. Will give them one-more-chance but will not order anything fried.

I gave this place 2 chances and they failed both times. The first time I ordered the softshell crab sandwich. Wrong choice, it was bland bland bland. The second time I ordered the shrimp po boy. All it came with was mayo No Remoulade like the description said. Very disappointing. I wish I could give Zero stars. I sure wish the Indian restaurant that was there before never closed.

Visited for early dinner today. I had the Gumbo for appetizer. It war very tasty but not too spicy. For my entrée I had the Cajun boiled shrimp. The shrimp were very large and cooked perfectly. The 1# was served with corn on cob and a boiled potatoe. Angelica was very sweet and efficient. Only reason this was not five stars was there was no music playing until I asked. I will return.

Have you ever been so depressed while eating? That was my experience today and not because of personal matters of the heart, but because I had to eat such mediocre, bland, lifeless food. All the tears that I shed onto my plate couldn’t even add an ounce of flavor. My «fried» soft shell crab came out soft and soggy and it was not because of my tears. This was my second time giving this place a chance. I can’t imagine how this place could go from mediocre to horror. I’m all about second chances, but I’m just reminded that some things never change for the better. We had the calamari to start off with, soft shell crab fried rice, a pound of crawfish, and chicken strips as entrees. Calamari– During our first experience, the calamari was delightful. It was cut into thick, long strips which you could tell was fresh and the seasoning was perfect. Today, I was mortified when our server brought out less than mediocre calamari that looked like it was dumped from a frozen bag. If you thought that was bad, it only went down hill from there. Soft shell crab fried rice– I tried to remain positive but the soft shell crab had only continued to break my spirit. I didn’t think it was possible for something that was deep fried to come out soggy. At $ 18 a dish, I felt like I was throwing away money. The flavor of the rice was NOTHING. Yes, I said it, NOTHING. If I’m paying $ 18 for FLAVORLESS rice, then the crab should have at least been crisp like normal soft shell crab should be. Crawfish– You would think one could not go wrong with boiling crawfish. Well, you’re wrong again and I was also proven wrong. You’ll bite into it only to discover that although you boil something, it could turn out dry as hell. The flavor was tolerable, perhaps the crawfish was overcooked? Also, you better bring your own scale because I don’t even think it added up to a pound with that old potato it was served with. Chicken tenders– The chicken tenders plate was probably the only descent thing that we ordered, IF it wasn’t served with rancid coleslaw. Mind you, it is $ 11 a plate and not just from the stench of it; but we also did our own taste test and determined it was in fact rancid. I sent it back to the kitchen and told my server that it was no good to serve. Had I not done it, a lot of people would be sick. You’re welcome. The server got back to me about the coleslaw and said that the chef insisted that it was either made yesterday or the day before. BUT I believe under the right conditions, food can and will become rancid. Chicken tenders are chicken tenders, nothing special. It was breaded in cornmeal, which was a pleasant change from the norm. The plate was also served with hush puppies which were good. Overall, my first time was better than my second, and last time. I really hope they make improvements in the kitchen because I don’t see this place growing. I hope they take my criticism into consideration and make changes for the better.

Yeah… we should have read some of the reviews before eating here. We wanted oysters, but they didn’t have any. We got clam chowder that did not taste at all like clam chowder. Another reviewer described it right. Service was okay. Pretty sure this place won’t be in business much longer. You’re better off elsewhere. The fries were good and the shrimp po’boy was okay. It had ketchup which was weird.

I just had the worst experience in this place. I wanted to get a house salad instead of the bake potatoe and the waiter told me that NO because the chef does not like to do substitutions. Then my husbands sweet tea did not taste good so he asked for another one. The waiter brought him another tea. The waiter used SALT instead of sugar. My husband was not happy at all. the waiter had a bad attitude from the begining. We paid for our drinks and left that place. I give this place a negative 1 star.

Service was good. My wife had the clam chowder that she said tasted like it came out of the can. My catfish was hot and had a great seasoning, but it needed to be cooked just a bit longer. Hush puppies and fries were good, but I did not care for the coleslaw. While we were finishing our meal, they had a customer return wanting her money back. They flat refused and told her that she ate all her food. We tried paying with a credit card, but their system was down. We paid with cash. I guess we would still be there if had not brought some cash.

Came here on a Saturday night. The place was not busy at all. They do not have their liquor license yet so that could be why. The décor is mediocre. Our waiter was very nice but he had a thick accent which made it very hard to understand him. We ordered the crawfish, catfish fillet, and soft blue shell crab. For the price of this place(ranging anywhere from 14 to 22 bucks per entrée) we were given very small portions. Now, I don’t know about you but I like my crawfish juicy. I expect for juice to be splashing everywhere when I eat crawfish. The crawfish here were bland and dry. No seasonings and no juice. The soft blue shell crab was okay nothing to write home to Mom about and the catfish was still PINK in the inside. We asked for the manager because we did not want to pay for the catfish. Instead of the«Customer is always right» logic. The manager came to our table and basically told us we were wrong for saying the catfish was under cooked. She came out trying to explain to us that the food here was«fresh» and it’s suppose to be pink in the inside then she stuck her hands in our food and after she got done explaining to us why we were wrong she asked us if we wanted a to go box after she touched our food. Eventually she gave us 20% off of our meal. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER will I eat here again.
