Best dental practice I’ve ever been to– knowledge, experience, cleanliness, and friendliness factor all A plus.

Dr. McIntire is a great dentist, a very quiet but nice guy. He ensures that you have all the information you need to make an informed decision about whether to pursue a treatment or not. I found him by reading the positive reviews about his practice, and I hope my review will help others with their search for a great dentist.

I live in Alexandria, VA and had been seeing a dentist all the way across town in Bethesda, MD. While the dentist had been pretty good up to a point, I was getting tired of the commute. I hadn’t really researched a new dentist but that all changed rather quickly when I broke a temporary crown only days before I was to go on vacation.
I was referred to Dr. McIntire by my girlfriend’s friend. I called and explained my situation (emergency work… in between dentists) to Johanna, Dr. McIntire’s extremely capable and courteous admin. Johanna booked me for an appointment after lunch on the very same day.
I get there, check-​in, have a very minor wait and within a few minutes I’m in the chair. Dr. McIntire is very cordial and relaxed. Turns out a colleague also uses Dr. McIntire so we talked a little about that then the good Doc sets to work.
I’m in and out in about an hour with a temporary crown that feels more comfortable than other temps I’d had before but most importantly, Dr. McIntire saved my vacation and I’m pretty sure I’ve found a new dentist that’s only a few minutes from home.
I’ve been back once since then to get fitted for the permanent crown which was a surprisingly short visit and next week I head back for the installation of the permanent crown.
I can’t say I’m really looking forward to going to the dentist (who can?), but at least with Dr. McIntire I can say its probably the least trepidation I’ve felt about going to a dentist after a lifelong fear of them.

I started going to Dr. McIntire when I moved to the DC area in 2004 when my friend recommended his office to me. After my first visit, I received a hand-​written thank you note from Dr. McIntire thanking me for coming to his practice. Who does that anymore?
Everyone in the office is SUPER nice and always so happy to see me. They file all of my insurance claims for me and are very accommodating with appointments. I moved to the west coast a few years ago, but when I moved back in early 2012 I went back to this office, even though I now live 30 miles away in South Riding and there are lots of dentists closer to me. It wasn’t even a decision I had to make — I was happy to go back to Dr. McIntire. Upon my return the hygienist Janice gave me a hug and they were both asking about me and what I had been up to.
I have referred them to others countless times and they always mailed me a nice Thank you note and a little Starbucks gift card for the referral. They really care about their patients. They are moving to a new office around Sept 2012 so look for them across the street at 1515 Wilson Blvd, first floor.

Dr. McIntire and Jan, the hygienist, are the best! I’ve been going there about 8 years and have nothing but good to say about this dental practice. They are «out of network» for my Delta Dental coverage, but worth the extra $$$ to get the best care.

Dr. McIntire has been my dentist for over 7 years, and probably will be for another 7 years and on. Aside from having a very convenient office location (2 blocks away from metro in Rosslyn), everyone in the office is super-​nice. The receptionist, Ben, is always very accommodating and helpful, and my hygienist, Janice, is always very friendly and rather than nagging about flossing etc., she tries to educate. Dr. McIntire himself is always very gentle with my teeth. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a dentist in the area!
