My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at this sister restaurant to the Mercury Chop House in Ft. Worth. It is in the Brownstone shopping complex. The service was great and the atmosphere is nice. If you like wine, the this your place. On Thursday nights they have wine tastings. I got the 12oz NY Strip cooked medium, with au gratin potatoes and asparagus. All was wonderfully prepared, but I thought the steak should have been a little more tender for the price. The serve Allen’s meats so the quality should be there. My steak’s tenderness was akin to Outback quality. Flavor and spice were perfect and veggies were perfect. My wife got the sea bass wirh corn risotto and aspargus. Just WOW. Out of this world quality and cooked to perfection. To end the meal we got a large piece of cheesecake with caramel drizzle. Yum. Overall a great experience and we will be back. Maybe this Thursday for some wine.

I was being pretty generous and hopeful when I wrote my first review, and I keep trying to give this place multiple chances, but I think they’re really coming up short in more ways than one. First of all, there has been an unpleasant aroma lingering inside every time I’ve visited. It smells like there’s some kind of sewage issue going on. I’m sure they’re aware of it and must be working on it, but it’s pretty unappetizing nonetheless. I sat on the patio on my latest visit because the smell was too much for me. :| When I ordered the cheese plate recently, it was nothing like the previous times I’ve had it. On my latest visit the cheese was not impressive and honestly tasted like it’d been sitting uncovered in a fridge for a long time. Just sort of stale and powdery, and then the fruit was sparse and mushy. The olives were still delicious and you can still find some great bottles of affordable wine on the menu. Service is nice and friendly, but seems to be really slow considering the restaurant has been mostly empty during my visits. I hope they take care of the unappealing aromas and spruce up their quality of ingredients a bit, because I really do think they have potential. Cute little location and really cozy ambiance inside.

Quiet, peaceful atmosphere, never felt rushed and the staff was friendly, Highly recommend the 6oz filet, good selection of wines. Desserts were just ok, order the chocolate cake. Only suggestion is, I wish they had some kind of bread with dinner. Definitely will be going back

Best date night place ever! A big thing for me on date night is to not be rushed out the door. Loved that it was a nice pace that they waited till I was finished to bring out each course so I could truly have a culinary experience. Great atmosphere it’s small intimate and ambiance is fantastic! The food was absolutely scrumptious and fresh which is another big deal for me being a foodie and all. Can’t wait to come back!

I love this place. I come here at least once a week, sometimes twice. The food is fantastic, the service is great and very personable. I always have the NY Strip with romaine wedge and a glass of Hess Trio Blend. Fantastic.

Great service. Great food and great prices on wine. Great addition to the Arlington scene. Had the 8 oz filet(Allen Brothers) Oscar style– amazing.

We’re so happy to have this little gem in our neighborhood. We’ve been a customer of it’s big brother in downtown Ft Worth for years. When we heard they were opening in Arlington we were excited. This place doesn’t disappoint. Rabii, the GM, is a wonderful host. The food is always good(we’ve been there more than a dozen times already), the service is very friendly, and the wine list is excellent. They have already expanded the size of the restaurant, which is a great indicator business is good. My wife used them to cater a large event a few weeks back. The food was excellent and all of the 40 guests from out of town were impressed. If you haven’t been by «The Winebar» yet, hurry up and go!

Upon entering the restaurant my expectations were high but the place was practically empty. One waiter was friendly, the other not so much. It took a few minutes to get our drinks at the bar but we waited patiently, watching the Rangers on their bar TV. The bottle wine selection is pretty good & they have lots of options for wine by the glass. Here’s where the experience goes completely off the rails. My husband ordered a wedge salad and the filet and I ordered grilled chicken with grits & vegetables. After 20 minutes I told him they forgot his salad. Thirty minutes later the waitress brings out the salad with our entrees. I told her he probably won’t eat it because it’s late so she left it and agreed to take it off the bill. The grilled chicken and grits were average and the chicken was partially covered with a reduction sauce. The filet looked like salsbury steak. It was small and over-cooked. The mashed potatoes had olives in them and the asparagus was puny. The wedge salad was soggy from the dressing and looked like it came out of a jello mold. Sometimes I ask to take my leftovers home just to see the reaction. Restaurants like Bob’s and Riata are always kind and accommodating and make a presentation of the to-go container. Not this place. The waiter(a different guy from the first) slapped it on the counter like he was pissed that the salad was taken off the bill. When I arrived, I expected a solid four star rating. When the salad arrived with the entrees, it slide to three stars; when we saw their version of a filet it went down to two stars and by the end of the experience, it became one star. We definitely won’t be back. But try it for yourself and Unilocal your photos and comments.

I hate to give them a bad review, but they have a LOT of «kinks»(as a previous reviewer called it) to work out, and I hope they do so quickly so that they can succeed. First suggestion I have is to provide better training to the wait staff. If you are going to call yourself a wine bar, the server should know about the wine. Also, the server should know simple details about the food, like how the fish is cooked and what kind of sauce is on it. Our waitress seemed very nice but very unprepared for the job. The food gets a mixed review. The appetizer was ½ good, one entrée was good, and one entrée was so bad we had to send it back and order something else. For the price, the food should have been much better. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience.

Attentive service, but if I want a frozen pre made chicken fried steak, I can go to Dairy Queen where at least I can get a blizzard and spend less than half of what this place charges. Not to mention the cold(clearly refrigerated and reused) mashed potatoes and the mushy vegetables. I am a Chef, so I look at food differently than most. Probably won’t be back and don’t recommend. You want steak go to Dallas or Fort Worth.

Can’t comment on the food because we were never served. 5 active tables and 4 staff… but we sat there for 10 – 15 mins before even getting menus… only words spoken to us were, «be with you in a minute». Left and walked across to El Gabacho, where we were warmly greeted and offered drinks. If they can’t handle 5 tables on Friday night I don’t expect they will be around long.

Soooo disappointing. Went there for lunch today. First ones there. Ordered a salad to share and 2 chicken dishes. After 35 minutes we had to ask for our salads. They were good but $ 12 for 2 shrimp? At the hour mark, after asking about our entrees, we were told that the chef got confused and was remaking our lunch and it would only be about 15 more minutes. We left! Also while there we heard the waitress inform 3 different people that the were out of a particular wine. Really!?! Just so disappointed because we were looking forward to an upscale dining experience and were also already anticipating going back to try more menu items. Unfortunately that won’t be happening. If you have a couple of hours at lunch you might give it a try. Good luck!

I have to admit that my first visit was in expectation of creating a business relationship. After starting with a gourmet burger and meeting one of the owners, Robby, I was convinced to bring my fiancé back to try a nice evening experience for two. Score again! We loved it then and the next day when we swapped for the leftovers. My third take was with my business partner and Luigi served us one of the best meals I’ve ever had(keep in mind that I work with the National Restaurant Association) and I eat out a lot :-). I just don’t think you can go wrong here! You just have to try it to believe what a hidden treasure this place is.

4 of us went for an early dinner Friday night. Small but what Arlington needed. Polite staff good food, a bit long to get out of the kitchen. The tuna was rare and the sandwich had all fresh ingredients. The small wire basket of fries that came was neat, fries were hot and crispy. Good wine selection. Molded Cobb salad excellent. Only draw back crab and shrimp salad. Taste was stellar but $ 18 for a salad with 2 small shrimp and 5 pieces of lump crab meat was overpriced. Will be back and try a steak.

Disappointing. Prices on website are lower than in the restaurant. We didn’t feel welcomed when we got there & that didn’t change while we were there. Steak was overcooked. I hope they make it, but we won’t return.

I am so thrilled to have this restaurant here. Very much needed. We had dinner here last night. They were swamped. It is a very small room and I think the kitchen area may be inadequate to handle busy nights. Of course, the restaurant was just mentioned in Friday’s paper so that may have contributed to the crowd. We had a reservation for 6:30. They were completely full when we arrived with 2 large parties in the latter stages of their meal. We sat at the bar(4 seats) and ordered wine… All good. Because I think they were totally overwhelmed with orders and only 2 waiters and one overworked busser, the turn around on tables was very slow. We didn’t get to a table until almost an hour later. Even though our waiter got slightly snappy when we mentioned that he waited on another table that had just arrived before us, the service is as attentive as possible while being understaffed. The food: WONDERFUL. The calamari appetizer was enough for 2, big rings and the raspberry sauce was a great compliment. My husbands rib eye was fabulous(he shared a bite), and my filet(6 oz) with Oscar sauce was perfection. Potatoes are nothing to write home about(all right, but small portion. Really all we needed, but wish they had a baked potato option). They have a nice wine list and I saw some folks with beer. No regular bar(mixed drinks). Bottom line: kinks to work out as far as service and getting to know their space.(would love to see them expand to the next door space, but I know they need to ESTABLISH first). Food is top notch and presentation is lovely. Arlingtonites, we need this place. We are chain food heavy. Let’s support this restaurant. But maybe on a weekday nite or lunch for awhile
