I visited the other day to take advantage of the $ 5 earring sale. After all, a gal can never have too many earrings. $ 5 earrings are unheard of, especially at LB where most jewelry runs at least $ 14 – 16.95. I bought five pairs. I was greeted immediately upon entering the store, and the staff was very friendly. The store is nicely laid out and it’s so pretty. LB has stepped up its game and offers trendy clothes for the curvy woman! I like that Cacique is next door and that you can pretty much drift there through LB(next to the jewelry). A whole store/area dedicated to plus-size lingerie? Wonderful. My only gripe is that LB is so expensive! I saw the cutest striped sweater I wanted to get as a gift, but it was $ 40. The sweater was good material, but thin and looked best layered which would have added to the cost. Boots are about $ 80! I shop here only when there’s a sale going on and that’s when I get the best deal for my money. Be sure to be added to the email list so that you can get discounts.

I recently visited this store in search of work clothes. While I didn’t find pants, I found the perfect shirt. They only had it in my size in two colors. They searched other stores for me, and then when the store was too far, they ordered it online. They also did a bra fitting for me and my confidence has soared now that I am in the right size. I will be back!

The service I received today was HORRIBLE. There was nothing in stock in my size so I had to order everything. Their promotional bucks or whatever they are called were very misleading. I was told I could use all 3 $ 25 off cards the next time I was in. Today was that next time and I was only allowed to use one. Also there was one pair of shoes that were dirty. I did not end up buying them because the lady did not apologize for them being stained. Other stores would have discounted the price at least. I will not be going back there anytime soon!!!

I have a confession to make — it’s been almost a year since I visited this store. In the beginning, there were very few plus sized clothing stores for ladies. LB was one of the first to actually offer relatively fashionable clothing for the rotund(I’m looking at you, Grandma Catherine’s of the butt-ugly clothes). So I used to shop there as a captive audience and cry at how expensive the clothes were for what you got, and ask my mom for a gift certificate every Hanukkah when she would ask what I wanted(so that I could be spared a little sticker shop once a year). But now, we have a lot more choices. And a lot of cheaper choices. And to be honest, sometimes more fashionable choices. Lane Bryant has experimented with trying to categorize jeans based on body shape which is a terrific idea overall. Unfortunately, they are all high rise jeans which my other half would call«mom» jeans. On my last visit to LB I got excellent service(which is getting them extra stars here). I was looking for jeans that were not mom jeans. Being a(step) mom doesn’t mean you have to look like one. They worked with me for probably close to an hour, trying to help me find jeans that would not only fit but meet the criteria. Sadly, there weren’t any that I know he would have liked. So I ended up not buying anything and feeling really badly about it since the ladies there did try really hard. Historically I have had better luck using LB as a destination for tops and formal wear than for bottoms. Although, now that I found Cato which has some dressier tops for cheap, I am not sure what niche they will fit for me. They’re kind of my last stop when I haven’t found what I’m looking for elsewhere due to the high prices. I think they need to adapt — they could charge a premium when they were the only game in town, but they aren’t anymore by a long shot.
