This place taste, looks and smells like grandma’s house. In fact, you will probably find your grandma in a booth eating here. Seriously, I had to double-take a couple old ladies. The service is excellent here. The waitresses are very caring and compassionate to their customers and you can tell these folks come here weekly if not daily to see these sweet hearted girls. Completely adorbs. Moving on to the food, average. Sunday morning with your husband and feel like a home cooked meal? I say drive a block down to old west café. Unless there is a wait then come back to the café. Sunday morning with your parents or grandparents after church? This is your place.

Pies are to die for so many amazing choices. I prefer their fruit pies, they have all the classics, from blueberry and apple to strawberry rhubarb. It’s great and they are always fresh.

Food is just«ok». The service is good, but that’s really about it. I really wanted a great breakfast place, but nothing is fresh.

Food is adequate as is the ambiance for this type of eatery. Service varies — I’ve had poor and I’ve had adequate. Pies are good. Mediocre about sums it up. (Have only been there for supper.)

Table of 6… 29 min wait, ok no problem. 10 min for waitress to notice we were at table, ok no problem. 10 more min wait for coffee, ok. 25 min wait for food. This place sucks ass! Will never go back. I’m 45 years old and this was the 1st time in my life I didn’t tip.

The day we went here it was packed. While the waitress totally hustled it was a really long wait for food that was just so-so. We really wanted to love it, but even the coffee was just okay. Not worth our time or money and won’t be back to eat there. We would still love to try one of their pies though.

Home-style cooking. Small town café feel(although it’s a large eating area.) Friendly wait staff hustle about while line cooks shout their names from the back! You don’t go to Jay Jay’s to show off or impress your friends, but to get an honest deal, eat food you grew up on, and to feel like you went back home.

First time here at this restaurant I know it’s been here for years, but never had a desire to stop by. But apparently my parents have and been here more than once and they like. So I took out for lunch and they wanted here. The atmosphere is like a old café and really a good size to accommodate small to large groups of people. As soon as you walk your eyes go straight to the pies they have and they have a variety of different pies from cherry, to chocolate, to key lime pie. They service was good very friendly workers and if you are a regular like my parents are they already know they drink order and know what they like. For the food it’s fresh and hot but honestly nothing special to me. It’s home style cooking. I like my food and the rest of they enjoyed it. I felt it could have been better. Maybe I ask to much. But I’ll give this another go.

Swing and a miss with chicken fried steak. I got soggy textured meat that looked like was boiled then wrapped with greasy breading that looked like it was cooked yesterday. Oh well manager took the meal off the check but couldn’t be bothered to come apologize for the«food». Poor customer service Ashley.

I have now had breakfast twice here, and I must say that I’m in love with their Belgian waffles! If you’ve seen Parks & Recreations, then you can compare my love of good waffles to Leslie Knope’s. Jay Jay’s has daily breakfast and lunch specials that change which are around $ 8 for breakfast and $ 10 for lunch/dinner. When I walked in on Saturday with my family of four, we were seated in a comfortable booth near the restrooms, which was perfect for us, because my 7-year old goes at least twice during a meal. I like their booths for the simple fact that I can lean back after I’ve gorged myself on their scrumptious food and give my stomach room to breathe. Anyway, I ordered the breakfast special of strawberry waffles. I had the option of choosing Apple waffles, but I was curious about the strawberry one since there’s a very visible sign on the front door that states that their strawberry pies are awesome. I had the choice of either sausage patty or bacon and two eggs. I chose bacon, had my eggs scrambled, and added an order of the home fries/house potatoes. When my food came out, everything smelled so good. It didn’t take long at all, though there were four orders. My waffles had a mound of fresh strawberries, thinly sliced and lightly splashed in a sweet syrup. It was nothing like the too sweet corn syrup stuff the offer at Denny’s or IHOP. This was amazing stuff. I didn’t even need the maple syrup that was brought out. That’s how good it was. There’s also a small flower of real whipped cream added on top of the strawberries, which only made the waffle a tiny bit softer and added to the flavor of the whole entrée. The home fries were great for me. The whole family liked them. They came out in soft chunks of potato with sautéed green bell peppers and onions and just a bit of salt. Very tasty. Though I love a good hash brown, I’ll probably order the home fries with every subsequent visit, because I can’t get them like this anywhere else. The only thing I would change about the place would be to make the coffee a bit stronger. I’ve been to Lili’s Bistro off Magnolia in Fort Worth, and they serve Royal Cup coffee, which is spectacular. I would highly recommend the change to that, because I always have coffee for breakfast, and though I partly drink it for the taste, I mostly drink it for the caffeine buzz. So, Jay Jay, whoever you are, my family and I WILL be back.

I thought this was a really good, Home Cookin’, kinda place. I had the grilled pork chops w/pinto beans & green beans. Everyone else had one of there fish selections, and we all enjoyed our meals. The service was fast & friendly. Definitely worth a stop when you are nearby.

I really enjoyed this place. What is not to like about a place that serves breakfast all day. Really good, they gave pistols portion and it was reasonably price. They had really good service and the wait staff was friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for something different you should try the croissant french toast. It was actually really good!

The rolls and corn bread were the saving grace I just wish they had butter and not buttery spread. My food was lukewarm the mashed taters and a sweetish flavor to them and the chicken and dumpling soup was pretty bland too. The chicken fried steak didn’t look like a frozen patty or have the texture of the frozen patty but it sure have that taste — still not sure if it was frozen or just not great.

Meet an old friend from NSU for a breakfast and catch up. We found our food to be prepared just right. Eggs cooked as ordered, bacon was crispy, wheat bread buttered on grill, grits and frequent coffee refills. Could not have asked for a better breakfast or service. Read on Unilocal the coconut cream pies are great so had to bring one home. Will get a slice of that this evening. The pie that really looked good was the coconut cream pie with a meringue topping, but that is only fixed on week-ends. Will just have to go back!

Another Jay Jay Café in Arlington. Had to check this location out for breakfast. This location has plenty of seating. So if you see a bunch of cars in the parking lot you will still probably have room to sit. The food is the same as the other Jay Jay Café’s. The breakfast is real good. Great pancakes and waffles and plenty of coffee. The service is good the employees are friendly. The price is fair. On the breakfast menu you have plenty of items to choose from. Not a fan of the lunch or dinner food. I stick with the breakfast.

Good old school diner food. They have breakfast all day and their chicken fried steak is awesome. And their breakfast is really good. Corn bread and rolls with your meal. Love coming with my mom it’s like the old days.
