Please do not believe what the other respondents have indicated below. I have been coming to this office for many years(20+). As a very picky consumer, I can tell you that you will not experience long waits in the waiting room. They are very responsive to refills and referrals. ALL of the doctors who work in the Arlington office are very efficient, knowledgeable, and more than qualified to render primary care services. I also love the fact that if you are attending your regular physical appointments you do not have to go in for refills all the time. Overall, they do a great job of managing my care and my son’s, provide great customer service, and the staff is extremely friendly. Judge them for yourself and don’t believe the hype.

Do not use this office for your PCP. Dr. Gupta is great, and knowledgeable… IF and only IF you see him… but don’t expect appropriate follow up. The office is so poorly run and disorganized. Last week was the LAST straw. Every time I go there I am kept waiting. If I am early, I wait. If I am on time, I wait. If I am late, I wait. Not only are you kept waiting in the office, then again in the room but the staff if RUDE to boot. Dr. Tran is nice, and there is a new receptionist who is kind but the majority of the desk staff that works there is unhelpful and too bothered to assist you if it means getting up. I have been kept on hold for 30 minutes and no one picked up the phone… then when I am I the office I watch them do the same to others while having personal conversations between themselves, laughing with total disregard for the person on the other line. I sent my roommate there to get a physical and he thought the same. We concluded that the receptionist must be family because you can’t be that rude to customers and keep your job. The best part is if you are waiting for lab or test results to be discussed with you. I had a Mammogram, MRI, and Blood test(THREESEPARATEOCASSIONS) where the office kept telling me they hadn’t received the results. I have learned my lesson. I now call the offices where the tests were done, ask them to manually fax the report, and then they send me a picture of the confirmation fax. I will be starring at the confirmation and the receptionist at Dr. Gupta’s office will lie and say they didn’t receive it. I have to ask them to Physically get out of their seat and please check again and I will hold. When I suggest this, they finally find the fax… so incredibly rude. They have no compassion and do not realize that the people on the other end of the phone are scared, nervous, and just want some answers about their health. I often have to call several times and beg for them to ask the doctor to call me with my test results. Don’t waste your time, you are not valued by them and they will make you feel that way. They have enough volume and co-pay coming in to care if you leave. They are a true example of how not to treat people or run an office.

Dr. Gupta’s widespread practice is overextended and irresponsible. In my experience as a patient of the family practice physician Dr. Jyotsna Patla, as well as a sleep studies patient, it became clear to me that this practice does not handle patients responsibly or efficiently. Ambrish Gupta is not a sleep specialist, yet diagnoses patients at will, completely disregarding patient input or complications. The practice has expanded into cosmetic fillers(Botox), another area in which they have no expertise. I felt very poorly taken care of, and Dr. Patla completely missed a serious diagnoses by not following up on standard bloodwork. This resulted in significant hair loss, an emergency appointment with a dermatologist, and expensive treatment and further appointments. I wouldn’t recommend this as a good medical practice — there have to be better ones out there.
