Great food and great service. I would give it a 5 star but they are a little pricy and the parking situation is horrible. The old bay sauce is awesome.

The hamburger was good, but there wasn’t as much flavor as I was expecting. I will be trying a different one next time I go. The french fries were alright on their own, but the different dipping sauces were good. I really like the toasted marshmallow shake. That is my favorite!

I went here again in December and the employees did a fantastic job remedying a frustrating situation. They were extremely busy and we expected to have to wait for our food, but after my friends received theirs and I was still waiting 5 – 10 minutes later, I went to ask what was going on. Both people I spoke to were extremely apologetic that my order had been skipped. They not only rushed my order, but they refunded my money and gave me a free shake while I waited. I was extremely impressed with Liza and the other employees who really did a great job at handling things! Great service!

Alright, so I’ve left reviews of the Capital Hill location that essentially look like this: Food — best burger joint in DC after the exceptional Rays Hell Burger, Contender for best milkshake in DC period(definitely better than shake shack), and weak service. Well I’m happy to tell you that the Crystal City location serves the exact same burgers and shakes, with a better space, and much better service. This place is the bomb. I grew up a hardcore Five Guys fan, but I don’t see myself ever choosing them over Good Stuff anymore. And to all those other wannabe«Gourmet» burger joints around town(I’m looking at you, Holy Cow) — you don’t have a chance against these guys*. If BGR gets it’s act together and ups their game a few notches, then maybe. *Rays Hell Burger is the best burger in DC — Everyone knows that. But it’s really not the same market segment — Rays will continue to be the best at high end of the market, but they are less convenient, more expensive, and don’t have the whole package the way Good Stuff does. Verdict: Good Stuff, you have earned a loyal patron. We had some stumbles out of the gate, but you continued to improve your game. This is an example of a good restaurant working on their weaknesses and making themselves great.

Great food and friendly service. They have a $ 12 lunch special with a burger, fries and a drink. Will come back!

Look at the picture of the burger I received for a TLDR. Yeah, ok. I have to be honest; their milkshakes are pretty good, at least the toasted marshmallow one is. $ 5 for a small(a little smaller than a grande cup at starbucks) and I think $ 7 or $ 8 for a large. Aim for the small b/c the milkshakes are thick, rich, and.delicious. However, multiple complaints with the core seller, the burgers. Someone mentioned that it was an overpriced five guys… well, I’d much rather have a five guys burger than this crap any day. True, it was a decently thick patty, but when you wrap it in foil and apparently form it into the shape of a brick, shame on you. Seriously, you don’t deserve to eat another burger in your life. My friends and I never mentioned to-go in our order and for some reason they assumed it was to-go even though there were a lot more patrons sitting down than leaving. Even IF it were to go, WHYDOYOUWRAPYOURBURGERSLIKETHAT? It smushes the bun so much that the ratio is detestable. Also, it’s obvious they use some cheap formless bun if it’s capable of getting crushed into that form. So dumb. I’ve never seen any take-out burger place wrap the burgers like this. But wait, there’s more. Partial blame on us for not realizing this until it was too late but apparently if you order one of the signature burgers, what you see is literally what you get. That being said, I expected to see at least one piece of lettuce and a tomato slice on my burger, but no, all I got was meat, bun, some fried dough or something, and generic bbq sauce. I ordered something that started with a C… forgot the name. Taste? Well, it’s hard to taste anything but bbq sauce when you douse a bucket-load of it on overcooked meat. Apparently, I THINK you can only get lettuce and tomatoes when you order one of the top 2 choices… I guess a create-your-own type of thing. It doesn’t come with all the burgers I guess. Honestly it’s a loss on their end b/c if you put those two simple ingredients in, the burger at least seems a bit larger. Finally, I guess they automatically assume you want your burger cooked almost well done. They don’t ask you at all. Partial blame on me for not saying anything before I guess? Sorry, I’m too used to going to normal restaurants and awesome burger joints that at least ask me how well I want the burger cooked. Maybe they were supposed to ask. Maybe they WERE supposed to include those things. Perhaps it all leads back to the lifeless cashier that was working that night. if you can’t manage to at least smile or show some motivation, you’re better off on the back line. Actually, I wouldn’t have noticed how lifeless our cashier was if it weren’t for I guess the manager on the other register being bright and happy. Kudos to her, but if she’s like that, then I sort of expect the other one to be like that too. Décor of the store is fine, but your seats are garbage(they’re crooked.) What is Good Stuff Eatery? Honestly, as I walked out the store I almost mistook myself from walking out of a McDonalds. Their one saving grace is their milkshake. 3/10, will definitely not be coming back again.

I decided to head to DCA a bit early so I could check out Good Stuff Eatery in Crystal City, and it was definitely worth rolling out well ahead of flight time for. I had the Michelle Melt Free-Range Turkey Burger, and it was one of the best turkey burgers I’ve had in quite some time — moist, juicy, and flavorful. The burger is served with caramelized onions, Swiss, tomato, lettuce, all on a very nice whole wheat bun.(It also comes with a special mayo that I skipped.) The only thing I can really pick at was that the caramelized onions were actually too much on the sweet side, which surprised me since caramelized onions usually aren’t overly sweet — perhaps it’s just the way they’re prepared or the kind of onions they use, but that extra sweetness took a little bit away from what was otherwise a great turkey burger. The fries are prepared to order and very much reminded me of Thrasher’s in Rehoboth — skin-on, piping hot, and most excellent with Good Stuff’s horseradish sauce. If you have a little bit of extra time next time you’re headed to National, make the very easy detour onto Crystal Drive and check Spike’s new place out — it definitely beats out the vast majority of food options inside the airport!

Yummy burgers, even better fries. Go there for a quick lunch if you are not concerned about calories. The dipping sauces are what make the good fries great. We love the srircha flavor and the mango. The one in Crystal City has easier seating. The one in Georgetown is jam-packed and only has seating upstairs. If you go to the Georgetown location have someone in your party scope out seats upstairs while you wait to order or you are screwed. Also, if you a sesame-seed-hating person like my husband, you can order your steakhouse burger with a plain bun — just ask and they’ll adjust.

4 stars for the service and Spike’s Village Fries. 2.5−3 stars for the Michelle Melt. I just wasn’t thrilled about this burger. Maybe I should stick to beef burgers at a burger joint. The turkey burger just lacked in flavor, as did the guacamole. Nonetheless, good portion size, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. Until next time…

I normally go to the Capitol Hill location, but this one is also excellent. I give it 4 stars rather than the 5 given to Capitol Hill, because the quality didn’t seem quite as consistent. While the recipes were, I’m sure the same, perhaps the people cooking the meal weren’t quite as experienced. My favorites are the Collete’s Smokehouse and the Obama Burger. Both offer something new. The milkshakes are also top notch!

I really like Good Stuff… it is after all #GoodStuff. Love: + Tasty burgers + Lots of dipping sauce options(my faves are sriracha mayo & chipotle) + Nice staff and clean amenities + Toasted Marshmellow shake is good stuff Not so love: — The buns. I like a toastier bun and this was a tad smushyville — Value. Paying for a burger and fries here costs about the same(if not more) than going to a restaurant… but this is fast casual and shouldn’t be so in my book. If you’ve never been to a Good Stuff, you should definitely try it once when in DC! But as a DC resident, I’ll most likely be back the next time I have a friend in town.

The Milky Way malt is amazing! The best part of a really good meal. I ordered the Sunnyside and the Village fries. I ended up with plain fries and was really looking forward to the rosemary but they were still really good. The burger was delicious but I would have preferred an egg with a runny yolk. Still yummy though! The bacon on the burger was perfect. I’d recommend this place!

So good. Wait is usually a little longer than you want, but the food makes it worth it. Burgers are really flavorful, salty, and delicious. The basic farmhouse cheese is my favorite. Don’t forget about all the specialty mayos for dipping your fries. Sriracha mayo has got some zip! Shakes are thick and worth every calorie. Milky way malt is good but the toasted marshmallow is the classic! They’ve got seating outside in Crystal City which is perfect on a nice afternoon. Fun, casual date place or quick family dinner spot.

Good Stuff Eatery is my favorite fast food burger place in the MD, DC, and VA. Not only do they serve burgers, fries, and shakes, but they also serve pizzas and salads. I love their dip bar that has a variety of sauces(e.g., ketchup, old bay, mango, chipotle, sriracha, horseradish, mustard) for fries and burgers. At every table, they also have malted vinegar, sriracha chili oil, and salt. They have two clean, spacious, unisex family bathrooms. For drinks, we shared a shake. We decided to get the August Shake of the Month which was Raspberry Truffle. It was smooth, rich, creamy, raspberry, and chocolatey. It would satisfy your sweet tooth. My other favorites include Toasted Marshmallow and Cookies and Cream. For burgers, I’d recommend Good Stuff Melt, which consists of a beef patty, topped with good stuff sauce, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and melted cheddar and muenster. It has everything I’ve ever wanted on a burger. What’s a burger without the fries. For fries, I’d recommend Spike’s Village Fries, fries topped with fresh herbs(thyme and rosemary) and sea salt. It comes in two sizes — snack or regular size. The fries were freshly made per order — crispy and hot.

The name of this place is true. It’s good stuff, but not great stuff. The Metro station is super close to here. It’s about four blocks. We got here before opening(we were meeting friends) and and were the first customers, but it picked up fast and by 11:30 the line was out the door. I was expecting a sit down place(I didn’t check on here beforehand) but you order at a counter and buzzed to get your food. The prices are high for a place like this, honestly. I ordered the smokehouse burger. It had the onion bites, bacon, BBQ sauce, and cheese. When I opened the wrapper, it looked very small. However, it was so filling. It was so delicious. Definitely the best burger I’ve had. I really loved the dipping bar. The OLDBAY sauce was the best. The fries were okay. They were limp and small. They were better than Wendy’s or McDonald’s, but not as good as Five Guys(my favorite). The milkshakes were a standout. The red velvet was delicious. It was so thick and creamy, and there was a generous spread of hot fudge on the sides of the cup. Not to mention that the mini milkshake is more than enough. If this place was cheaper, it would have earned five stars. However, at $ 8 a burger, $ 6.45 to add on a small fires and shake and $ 60 for a party of five, this place is way to expensive for fast food.

YOUNEEDTHEPREZOBAMABURGERINYOURLIFE! An «outside-of-the-box» burger like my «outside-of-the-box-thinking» President! Both have turned out to be GOODTHINGS! Applewood bacon, onion marmalade, Roquefort cheese and horseradish mayo… OHHHHYEAHHH! Wait, there’s more! The snack size of Spike’s Village fries(topped with thyme, rosemary and sea salt). Totally different twist. I liked it! Oh yeahhhhhh… a little pricy; but, not ridiculous.

Most stores are closed at 8pm on Saturday in Crystal City, but the restaurants are open– Good Stuff Eatery being one of them. Good Stuff reflects and defines the name in terms of the quality of burgers, fries, and shakes. Not Shake Shack or In-and-Out quality, but Good Stuff quality. I ordered the Smokehouse Bacon burger with small Village Fries and an Oreo Shake. This is not a sitdown restaurant with waiter server rather order, sit and eat, and clean up yourself, no tip necessary. There is plenty of seating available. The food came out in a to-go bag and after opening the contents I was quite disappointed in the size of the burger, not realizing the bulk of the meat patty. It’s a fat piece of meat cooked into a ball more than a patty. No complaints once I took a bite into the meatball with crispy bacon and sizzled onions. The fries, drizzled in generous layers of rosemary, tasted foresty and refreshing unlike anything I have ever tasted. Who would have thought fries could be refreshing? You can add another layer of refreshment by dipping the fries in the Oreo Shake. Take it one step further and dip the bacon burger inside the shake to extract the essense of a bacon shake. 3 Minutes and 15 napkins later the burger was demolished. Good stuff.

UPDATE: The owner contacted me within a day after writing my initial review. He took the time to address my specific concerns/complaints and was sincerely apologetic for the situation that transpired. He recognized the oversight and identified the opportunity for them to refine and improve their process. The quick response showed they are dedicated to providing outstanding service to their customers. I would definitely go back there again when in town to give them another shot.

On a work trip from out of town, I was stuck in Crystal City surrounded by the likes of Noodles & Company and Cosi. Where could I go to get something that I missed since moving to the Pacific NW last year? Then I spied Good Stuff Eatery and We The Pizza — yesss, Spike’s places only found in the metro DC area! It was a tough call, but since the pizza is surprisingly fabulous in the PNW, I decided to go for a burger. I wish I could say the Bacon Farmhouse burger I had was as transcendingly good as the one I’d experienced before at the Capitol Hill location. Unfortunately, the bread was hard, the burger was overcooked(no juiciness) and toppings unevenly distributed. It was still a fine burger, but nothing about it made me label it the best burger in DC(as I had last time I had a Good Stuff Eatery burger). There was no line when I went, so rushing for a crowd was not even an excuse. I still loved the Sriracha mayo and the fries were pretty good despite looking burnt. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Good Stuff to others, and I’m just hoping the Crystal City location was having an off day.

Ok, the milkshakes are pretty fantastic, but the burgers are just giant balls of grease. Seriously these must be the greasiest burgers around. Last time I went, my pregnant self was craving the portobello burger(known as the ‘shroom) and was super disappointed to see that it’s «coating of panko crumbs» was really code for«crazy deep fried with insane amounts of breading». It was waaaaay too much for me to handle, and even though I couldn’t finish it all, I ended up throwing it all up later. I know not to expect«healthy» options at a burger joint, but for the one burger that should’ve/could’ve been less greasy, this was a major fail. I’m not sure why everyone loves the fries. To me(and my husband), they just seem really limp and dull. Seating is ample and service is so-so in terms of speediness.
