Burnt food flavors were ok but way overdone. The worst was Slow service. I work in NC as a chef/owner. This was perhaps the most unacceptable service I have seen. Seems like the hookah part is there money because it isn’t from the restaurant.

Ate at the restaurant for dinner. Food was delicious! The fried cheese and cold sampler appetizers were super yummy. Definitely recommend the lamb or mixed grill. Service was great. They were out of a few of the dishes we ordered but were very accommodating and even gave us dessert.

I had the pleasure of being treated to dinner here for my birthday and I really enjoyed it. The food was great and the service was fast. The menu is easy to understand and full of great options. I stuck with my favorite — chicken kabobs! Grilled to perfection, the basmati rice was delivered straight from heaven or so I’m told lol. Great food, reasonable prices.

I met a few buddies here for drinks and hookah. I never imagined that I would attempt an evening of hookah but alas now I can say«I am hook’d on hookah.» Parking is iffy so be sure to check the signs. It’s basic street parking with parkmobile signs that are not consistent. The venue has 2 levels and entrance to both are outside. We met up in the lounge and enjoyed a couple of meze platters(hot and cold). There was a nice basket of bread-like ‘scoopers’ that we enjoyed. The bar has a full line-up of booze. The servers that night were brand new and didn’t have the full line-up memorized so a quick walk to the bar took care of my curiosity. I am not a fan of smoking: never have and didn’t think I would tolerate ‘hookah’. I didn’t hesitate to try out the pipe smoking and it wasn’t as bad as I had imagined. They provided each of us with our own personal«pipe», and off to hookah land. Overall, the venue and staff were great. The experience was once to remember. I would definitely recommend it if you are curious.

Went to meet some friends this past weekend. The place was not packed but we were told there would be an hour wait to get a table. We had a couple of drinks and eventually found our own table outside. The blue mist smoked wonderfully but that was the only highlight of the evening. They had one, 1, waitress servicing the entire mezzanine. We waited 45 minutes for our hookah. We had to order our food, drinks, and water twice and ultimately never received anything we ordered. The waitress was completely overwhelmed. We ended up leaving after two hours without even receiving the water I ordered. My assessment was the place is completely poorly managed. The blame for our terrible service falls squarely on management so we still left a decent tip for the waitress because we felt sorry for her.

I just have to say the bar tender here is a real darling. He introduced us to Lebanese spirits made of anise and grapes, and allowed us to sit at the bar well past closing just chatting. We’ll be back for the food.

I LOVE this place! Chill vibes, the staff is SO welcoming and FUN! The food is divine, shrimp kabob is a must, so is the Baklava Ice-cream YUM! Music is awesome… definitely one of my favorite places to be! Go there. go there now!

I was really disappointed in my experience. I showed up at 9:40, intending to grab a quick bite at the restaurant. I was the only table there(they close at 10pm) and was told they served food«upstairs». Upstairs turned out to be the hookah bar. That was OK with me because I like the smell of shisha but really not ideal for dinner. The service was OK and the music was loud — it is a bar after all. I ordered the Spinach pies, Haloumi cheese and the Shawarma. I should’ve been alarmed when the food literally arrived in less than 5 minutes(before my drink). It had clearly been microwaved. The best was the Shawarma but it came with fries that were soggy and inedible. The Haloumi was like cardboard and they shouldn’t boast that it comes with cucumber and tomato — I had envisioned a small cucumber salad but it was truly 2 slices of cucumber and 2 slices of unripened tomato. No sauce, no oil, no salt and pepper on the table — again inedible. The worst for me was the spinach pie. I truly expected the typical fillo dough pie filled with yummy spinach and feta. Nope. It was 3 little beggars purse size things stuffed with maybe a tablespoon of dry, flavorless spinach. I can live without the traditional feta but there were no nuts or raisins. It was awful. Plus the dough was hard/crispy on one side and soggy on the other. I literally took one bite, broke open another to see if the filling was all the same, then put them on the end of the table. I told the server I didn’t like them but she didn’t take them off the bill — my bad, I really should have insisted because it irritated me to pay for something I hated. So in the end, although I thought I over ordered, I was able to eat only the Swarma and part of the Haloumi. Definitely not worth the $ 30+ bill. I will say the place looked fun for those enjoying the hookah and for me the service was fine. Not stellar but far from complaint-worthy. I would go back for a smoke and a drink.

Back for a second time with a Groupon. The kalaya lamb appetizer is SO good. Practically a meal in itself. Dip sampler is always a solid choice. The spinach pie is decent and I’m glad it does not have cheese. The ouzi had nice subtle flavors that were amped up by the garlic yogurt sauce(too dry otherwise). Made for yummy leftovers. I really enjoy dining in this restaurant since it has an intimate, hip interior, is never crowded, and the service is always pleasant. Never had any bad food experiences here. Everything has a homemade taste. The freshly made pitas are ridiculously scarf-worthy. Plus their Groupons make it a great deal!

Went on a weeknight with a friend who had a Groupon. Being Ramadan, the place was empty. Food was pretty good, we had the cheese sticks, lamb kabob, chicken kabob, and the daily dessert. The waitress was friendly and good-looking :)

Just finished dinner and the food/service/experience was bad enough that I was eager to write this review. Zero stars fits better. We walked in and there was only one table with customers. Bad sign right there…7pm on a Sat, this place should be busy, but it wasn’t…I found out why. There were two servers… wearing booty shorts(I am not exaggerating)…and dressed in World Cup style… that is fine if I was at an Irish pub or any bar in Arlington. This is a restaurant, nicely decorated with an upscale feel, and the servers were way under dressed and inappropriately dressed. We ordered hummus… and it came with two pieces of pita… TWO. Medium sized bowl of hummus, aling with the freebie dips, and they provided 2 pieces of pita. So i ordered more… and 2 more pieces coms out… ODD. Water was difficult to get… only two servers… just two of us the another table of 4. Serving 6 people was too much trouble? I rarely saw the servers… and when I did, they were by hidding by the bar, texting or talking. I had the ouzi… I was completely disappointed. Best part was the side sauce. Chicken was dry and flavorless… I wasn’t seasoned before cooked, was overcooked(probably reheated so dried that way) and rice was bland. I was hungry so I ate… but it was bad. My friend ordered something else and was also greatly disappointed. Hummus was decent.
I asked for the check and showed my Groupon. The server took my phone so the manager could adjust our check… then she returned my phone. Where’s the check?!? Took 5 mins to get the attention of the other server sho was busy on her phone so I could get my check. Do not bother eating here… plenty of fresh food offerings in Clarendon with better service by restaurants who want customers. Best part(sarcasm) was the $ 4 they charged for the pita!!! What the??? You seriously charge me for bread which I need in order to eat my appetizer?!? Pathetic… Fortunately we had a Groupon… but I still feel ripped off and will never return nor recommend Darna to anyone.

Ehh… Not the greatest Mediterranean food in the area. My hubby and I decided to have date night here a few days ago bc it’s always so busy when we drive/walk by. Well… we quickly realized this place is all about the drinks&hookah and less about the food. Over priced bland portions. I would not come here for food, maybe just for drinks for a girls night out.

The food is very very good. I had the mansaf, and the kebsa and they were delicious. The service is great but they charge you for the bread so beware.

I went to this place based on the reviews here and I also had a groupon to use. I was not disappointed. The décor in this place is very nice, and there weren’t too many people at the restaurant. We got a few appetizers, the sampler plate, the sojak, the lentil soup(a little sour flavor), and some falafel. The also serve three types of dip with bread as appetizer on the house. For the main dish we got the mix kabob combo meal, which was huge. It was enough to feed two people. Overall the food was good, the service was excellent, the setting was nice for a quite dinner and they also had a great selection of wine. Each of the main entrees was about $ 20. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Just ate here. Very good Mediterranean mezza. Good for vegetarians. Very tasty yogurt dips. Piping hot, fresh pita. Very friendly staff. Gorgeous décor. Very good scotch selection. Good wine selection. Could use more variety in beer selection. Am told the lounge upstairs does a rockin business, but I preferred the more mellow atmosphere of the restaurant.

This place is AMAZING!!! Dustin took care of us all night. The wine and drink selection is awesome. Mixed mezze platter is so good if you’ve never tried it. Had the lamb shank for my entrée, this thing is huge, no homo lol. It was so tender and it literally falls off the bone. My GF had the mixed grilled kabob platter, that was amazing as well. The chocolate fondu cake was soooo good, the ice cream actually taste different than anything I’ve ever had. Will definitely be coming back soon! 5 stars fashow

This place was amaze balls. We shared the lamb shank and mixed grill kabob. Both were amazing. For someone who doesn’t drink a lot of wine, the wine we had was so good. You have to try the chocolate fondue cake for dessert. Errrmagawd! Service was fantastic. I’ll definitely be coming back.

This review is for the restaurant. Great food and service from our waiter at a fair price. Pretty décor too. The only reason i’m not giving the full 5 stars is because when we got there, there was no host or hostess to seat us and it briefly gave me a negative impression of what would happen after seated. I’m so glad the sour moment ended there and that it was eclipsed by the fantastic food.

So i like Darna lounge but the restaurant not so much and i predict it closing down very soon. If they had launched the restaurant at the same time as the lounge, it would have been a better idea but most people dont even know it exists. I did not either, until a birthday party. The whole time we thought it was a coat closet downstairs lol Anyways the first time i dined here was for a birthday party and our waiter was AMAZING. I’ve been here twice and he’s served us twice and he’s so attentive and a sweetheart. The food on the other hand is aaa-ok, nothing special. I much prefer the mezze style upstairs although the quanity is much less. Only thing i liked here was the piping hot bread. The dipping sauce(harrisa, olive oil mix and one more dipping sauce) was aaahmazing and i wanted to get full off that. I ordered the same thing twice; chicken kabobs. I know, so very boring of me! The quantity is alot but both times the meat was ok and the rice was not cooked properly. The onion bread which comes with the entrée looks appetizing but is not, burnt in the bottom, too crispy and just a miss in my opinion. I only liked the tiny coleslaw that came as a side. I would def much rather eat upstairs then downstairs.
