Ehh. Parking was a little difficult as much of the garage was cordoned off for the use of city vehicles. The comedian was ok. The view was spectacular.

What a great night out! Great comedians with an awesome view in «Windows Over Washington». I have been here at least 12 times. Every show has been hilarious. Its a very intimate room with great sound and service. I would say it is the Best Place to Take a Date!

Went with my wife and a few other friends to the 10 pm show. Unfortunately do not remember the name of the headliner but he was very entertaining. The warm up act was about 15 minutes of a magician and a short act from a host. The 10 pm show had no minimum dollar amount to spend but the drink prices were ridiculously high. Also, no beer on tap, only bottles. The late menu is very limited but not bad choices for late night finger foods, although they are also priced ridiculously and the portions tiny. The venue is small so the proximity to the stage makes you a target for the act. If you are not comfortable with this I would suggest asking to be placed as far in the corner as possible. The view is really nice and the staff was friendly. Our server was a little inattentive and probably lost out on another round of drinks to help add onto his tip. I would return once a year or or so. Nothing great but nothing terrible. An ok comedy experience.

The Comedy Zone is located inside of the«Windows Over Washington» restaurant. The views are actually pretty stunning and have a great wow factor. The venue is pretty small, and both times I went the room was probably only at half capacity, so this makes for a very intimate setting. Just know that you’re so close to the comedian that you will be a part of his act more than likely. I assume if there is a more marquee comedian, then the space would be more full. The shows are supposed to start at 7pm, or 10pm, but both times I went they started late. The headliners were funny, the warm up acts were okay, they had a magician, and a local host/comic that did an adequate job. For the 7 o’clock show, there is a $ 20 minimum per person, and for the 10 o’clock show there is a $ 10 minimum per person. Of course the pricing of the items is set to make you go way over this, things are $ 8 for the cheaper items on average. They do however validate your parking, and your receipt gets you into the sky dome lounge upstairs. It’s pretty swanky, and it spins around in a circle. The music is pretty good. They also usually have discounted tickets on Gold Star, and other sites.

The view out the windows alone is worth the visit! You can see the Washington Monument, Capitol and more right from your table. We put our faith in a comic we hadn’t heard of but it ended up being worth it, he was hilarious and so was the host of the show! Even the opening act, a magician, was very funny! They had live music to entertain us while we ate, which was a great touch. Great fine dining menu with something for everyone, the drunken hanger steak was delicious and my boyfriend loved the lobster sliders. Well worth the price, we’ll be back for sure!

Absolutely beautiful view of the city, enjoyed a night of comedy from local comedians, and national talent Shaun Jones. The service was great. The food was expensive, yet on par for what they charge.

Is laughter good for your health? Well, it sure did feel like it when I walked out the door. I went with a group of friends to see headlining comedian, Mike Siscoe, for a 10pm uncensored show. The 7pm shows are more family-oriented. Normal ticket prices are $ 20/person and the food menu ranges from $ 8 appetizer salads to $ 40 entrees. Wines & liquor were also available to order. The servers are pretty good about asking constantly if you want to order something else. Parking at the hotel garage is $ 10 for 2 hours. We were recommended to arrive at least half an hour before show-time. Dress code is casual, but it took a few phone calls before the show to confirm that. I have seen some of Mike Siscoe’s material online before the show and really liked his style. So I went knowing a bit of what to expect. When we stepped off the elevator of the 14th floor, we were greeted by a host and hostess. The hostess was such a joker and the host turned out to have the same name as I so even more jokes there. After some chit-chat, we hung our coats(not a coat check) near the entrance and were promptly seated. The view of DC was terrific from the top floor of the Doubletree hotel. The room seated about 60 people. It wasn’t crowded and the lights were nicely dimmed with spotlights pointing towards the stage. Our group sat to the far right from center stage and still had a pretty good view. There were two opening acts for Siscoe. To sum it up, the first act was actually the hostess who greeted and seated us from the door. Yes. she did make a joke about being the«seater». My friends and I could tell the second opener was still a work in progress. The opening acts warmed us up for about 10 – 15 minutes. When the main attraction came on, it was just a laugh-fest the rest of the night. I mentioned earlier that I had heard some of Siscoe’s jokes before online. Sure, a lot of his old jokes were included in the first half hour, it was brand new stuff the rest of the time. Remember guys, 10pm shows are usually uncensored. He had a 7pm censored show earlier and I could not have imagined how he got around everything in his routine. For these kind of shows with a seasoned comedian, you will be laughing your head off for an hour at jokes you probably would feel uncomfortable hearing in any other setting. So enjoy the 90 minutes in a judgement-free environment. Dinner and comedy in a semi-casual setting. It would totally be okay if you dressed up for the occasion too. This place would be an ideal weekend night outing for couples and small groups, either as a kick-off or closing to the night. Be sure to watch a few online clips of the comedian to see if you and your date like the type of comedy they deliver. Even though normal ticket prices are just $ 20/person, the minus 1 star is for the over-priced menu.

The CZ is in the NORTH Tower of the Doubletree hotel on the 14th floor. It’s in a room that was formerly called WIndows Over Washington. You get a great panoramic view looking north toward DC. My date and I went to the 7p show on a Saturday night to see Tim Kidd. I had never heard of him before but checked out his web site and some youtube video’s. He’s got some good routines, he performed for about an hour and wrapped up with a series of min-skits performed to the short sound clips of some classic pop tunes. When you make your reservation on line, they email you a confirmation but you don’t need a ticket. They have your name on their invite list when you come off the elevator. They say get their at 630p for a 7p show but, I suspect they delay the start because they want your $. I thought our waiter was a bit pushy, wanting us to buy lot’s of beverages and food. They require a two item minimum. They have a full menu which seems OK. We had the chicken satay and the spinach and artichoke dip and a couple glasses of vino. At $ 20.00 for the show and a $ 38 dinner/drink bill I thought it was all a fair price for an evening of entertainment. It’s about a half-mile walk from Crystal City Metro. I’ll go back but I think I would like to see a bigger name comic next time.

We went to a 10 pm show were the dinner is not obligatory(small menu but looked like decent food). 2 comics on the bill; one was a local dude who was funny 35% of the time, the headliner was really funny… can’t remember his name. The downside is that it is really short(just over an hour) and it’s $ 20 per person. The drink prices are insanely high too.

We have been fans of the Comedy Zone since Zigs was still around. Since Zigs bar closed the Comedy Zone has been in search of a new home. The service was great very attentive, both from the restaurant staff to the CZ people. The food was decent and considering it’s from a hotel restaurant it is above par. Instead of being the place we frequented two or more times a month as a casual weekend night out at our local bar the Comedy Zone at the DoubleTree is more the place you would take a small group for a pricey night out. We would do it again, the comedians were great and despite the relatively small crowd they performed as though the place was sold out. I give it four stars as the show made up for the not so impressive cuisine offerings. The view from this restaurant also warrants an increased star rating. However the food and price make it more of a should see instead of a cannot miss.
