Average bbq. The worse service I’ve experience in years. The young girl working on Mothers day around 5pm was rude, had a terrible attitude and was a poor choice to put on the front line.

This is a poor excuse for Texas Barbecue. Brisket was dry even though I was guaranteed moist. Sausage had no seasoning, think boiled bargain brand. Mac and cheese had no flavor, Kraft would be several jumps up. Never again, don’t waste your time. No love or passion is put into Colters bbq. Go to Jambo’s and save yourself a half eaten plate.

Nope. Should have listened to the reviews but my boyfriend insisted. This was my first time trying Colter’s in Arlington and most likely will NOT be back. We went through the drive thru for dinner and not only are they over-priced but definitely not even worth it. We ordered the Family Meal #1. We got sliced beef with two sides which were macaroni and cheese and potato salad and we ordered an extra side of «seasoned» french fries and the meal came with barbecue sauce. The meat was dry and very fatty. The macaroni and cheese was cheesy and creamy(which is good) but no flavor, had to add salt and pepper. The potato salad was good not great. The menu showed Seasoned Fries, the fries were fresh but definitely not seasoned. The barbecue sauce was the only thing that was satisfying. I was really craving some good barbecue and Colter’s disappointed. My return is very unlikely especially because I don’t think their food is worth their prices.

This is a great place for a quick BBQ launch. It’s a bit expensive for what you get but tastes great. Tater salad, coleslaw and BBQ, what else does a man need?

I remember a long time ago when Colters was a decent restaurant. I love good barbecue, but can honestly say my meal at the Arlington Colters was probably one of the worst I’ve had in ages. At the center of the disaster was the brisket, a flavorless slab of meat the was only made edible via extremely thin slices and over sugared sauce. Even the sausage seemed less savory. And while the staff was pleasant and personable, an order of fries wasn’t even begun until ten minutes after we had sat down and begun our meal… And I’d gone to complain. In summary, do your self a favor. Hit up Dickies, or better yet, Rudy’s. This Colters is now in the same league as Denny’s, IHOP, and Ruby’s Cafeteria, surviving on baby boomers who can’t taste the difference in quality.

OK, but I found the ribs inferior to other BBQ houses in the area.

My husband has been begging me to try it, but I haven’t been to Colters in years. So I did and it was ok. I got ribs and they were good just a bit fatty. They advertised mac and cheese on the menu, but they were out. Sad face. The potato salad was just ok. I did like the rolls. The green beans were obviously from a can and lacked any type of seasoning. The place was empty for 6:00 on a Sunday night, but the drive through was booming. Overall it wasn’t bad, but not great.

The best baked potatoes ever! Not a fan of their new sauce, but the brisket was cooked very well.

I read reviews before I went but decided to try it anyways. We ordered the brisket plate and Rib plate. The Brisket was blan and had no flavors the ribs were decent. The sides were green beans and Mac and cheese. The green beans were good but the Mac&Cheese was watery, and needed seasoning, I probably will not return I will just stick to dickeys.

If their was a no star that’s what I would give this place, the staff is very rude, extra small portions looks like a child’s plate. I have came here 6 other times and it’s the same, complained to manager for the employee picking the food up with his bare hands on the sauce and relish bar, manager said no one has touched it(after it has touched the bar) so no more for me

I usually only come here when I have a BOGO dinner free w/purchase of dinner and 2 drinks. Because buying for two people, and one being a hungry boyfriend gets pretty pricy when you start talking about all different kinds of BBQ meat. LOL Personally, my favorite is the Pulled Pork! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. If you get the dinner of just the pork w/2 sides. It’s enough for dinner and sometimes a little left over for lunch the next day if you get hungry. ;) I always go around 6:00 ish around dinner time and it’s never too busy where you have to wait forever in line, and also they have a drive thru too to make it more convenient for you.

Basic Texan barbeque, with large portions. It’s served cafeteria style, but a waiter refills drinks. The décor is country and comfortable. They were very patient when my group stayed late talking and didn’t realize that it was way past closing time. ;)

Really good BBQ!!! The ribs are always great & so is the sausage. The chicken is really juicy as well! The brisket can be hit or miss, but the sides are always good. They will always give you hot rolls on request!

Did not like Colter’s BBQ. They have been at this location for many years. And I don’t see why. The BBQ brisket was cut paper thin, It had no marbling. It was almost like lunch meat. Dry and cold. The side are nothing special. I have had better. And they do not have corn on the cob. The macaroni had a strange taste. Had to return for some beans. The place was clean service was good. No one there on Friday night. I taste why. Arlington needs to step it up on BBQ they are weak. Spring Creek is my favorite in Arlington.

Colter’s has been my favorite BBQ places for over 30 year. Well at least it was my favorite. Over the last several years they have closed most of their stores. We were regulars at the N Collins location but it closed about a year ago. We decided that we would check out the last one here in Arlington. We’ve been to this location a few times and were not really fans. Well we’ve gone from not really fans to anti-fans(I know it’s not a word but it makes my point. LOL) The good: the service was good and they were very friendly. The green beans and the potato salad are good but they are from cans and boxes. The bad: the brisket was extremely dry with just no flavor. Most of the sides were not worth eating. I took the macaroni salad back and the server asked why and I said it was not edible. He looked at me kind of away from the other servers and agreed. Service good — food bad. We need to find a new BBQ place.

Not my favorite BBQ brisket sandwich as the sesame seed bun is generic and the meet wasn’t moist. But its so close to the house it’s my quick BBQ fix. I didn’t get any ribs but saw them and they are really big. That seems to be the way to go. Sides are about the same as Dickeys if you don’t know Colters. Potato salad is mustard based and cubed potatoes which I like. Decent beans although they need some bacon or jalapeños. Sauces are good and they have 3 kinds. Service is very good and they keep the place nice and clean.

Looking for some barbecue on a Sunday night and the only place opened was Colter’s. A little concerned about some of the reviews but didn’t have any problems. We had ribs, brisket, sausage, chicken and pulled pork and it was all good. Nice selection of sauce, baked beans and rolls were nice, too. Not the best BBQ I ever had but a nice solid meal.

Why would you go here when there are places like Spring Creek, David’s, Main Street and your own back yard. I did because I figure it’s close to where I was at the time, and I wasted my time and money…

This place is infested with roaches. Wife found one in her baked potato. Then manager even admitted they spray every other week and his excuse was that was the reason why«THEY» are coming out… And ending up in the customers’ meals… Never going back

Brisket and Ribs decent, not a lot of meat and on the dry side. I do like their beans.

Great ribs & sausage. The brisket was a little dry for my taste. The sides could use some help. The corn, green beans & beans were cold.

Blue plate lunch special… its a perfect option to sample out the goods at Colter’s without breaking your belt in one sitting. I thoroughly enjoyed the pork ribs as the meat easily pulled off the bone. Soooo good! Super stoked to beat the lunch crowd as I devoured my food(at the joint around 2pm). I didn’t have a chance to taste the roasted chicken but heard from many how succulent it is and hopefully find my way back to Arlington to try in out in the very near future. Don’t forget the warm bread to finish off your plate. Delish!

While visiting the parents over X-mas ’09, we decided we were all tired of preparing meals and cleaning it up. My Dad decided on BBQ for the night and we wound up at Colter’s. This joint is very casual and has no waiters or waitresses. You order cafeteria style and receive your order immediately(very gratifying). I had all-u-can eat BBQ and sampled most everything on the menu, here’s the rundown: Brisket: Frigg’in awesome Pulled Pork: Deiliciously smoked and juicy Chicken: Smoked, kinda dry Pork Ribs: Fall-off-the-bone and succulent(sp?) Turkey: Very good Ham: 8 out of 10 Sausage: As good as BBQ sasage gets The sides are all so-so, but you don’t go to a BBQ place for sides, right? There are televisios with sports, but don’t expect HD flatscreens or anything. Overall it’s just what I’d expect for Texas BBQ
