It’s gotta say something when you only get one star. And if I could; I’d give no stars. Maybe things would be a little different if I was to go during peak hours and actually get Fresh food. Should have made it very clear when we pulled up int the back entrance to see trash debris and such floating around. Should have turned away and gone for something else. But, we were hungry! Thought based on reviews(which I doubt I ever trusted but my girlfriend really wanted to try it) that it would at least be enough to sustain us until dinner time(we ate at 3:45 pm). Both ordered a quarter chicken and it came with 2 sides. Both got yucca and yellow rice. Both of our ¼ chickens were over cooked and dry as if they were the remnants of lunch. Cooked hours ahead of time and left to linger until some unfortunate souls came in and were as hungry as we were. None the less. The waste of money didn’t end there. Yellow rice with grayish-brown peas that also was hours old as well as the yucca that literally was like cardboard. Green sauce was the highlight of the experience. Lacking on the yellow sauce and didn’t have that pink sauce a lot of Peruvian joints do. All I can say is would have been better going on up to weenie beenie or something for a lot less to eat half way decent slop. Save your money and don’t waste your time. At least for the mid afternoon hours. I’m sure there are a lot more decent restaurants out there that are at least a tad more passionate about providing people with quality meals which we expect and spend decent money on. And by the way. Don’t know why there is a drive thru. Doesn’t work. All and all. Just go somewhere else.

I’ve tried nearly every Peruvian chicken spot in Arlington and this understated, local favorite is hands-down the best. We come here at least once a week. Their chicken is moist with crispy skin, and better seasoned than other places. The sides — salad, rice, fried plantains — are all reliably good. With sit-down tables, the restaurant provides a legit«Latin American» ambience that’s one notch above fast food. The majority of clientele are Spanish-speakers and soccer/telenovelas play on flat-screen TVs. Where Las Brasas falters is service, which is neither efficient or friendly(usually the norm among other Peruvian chicken restaurants). Provided you have 10 – 15 minutes to wait, this is some solid take-out chicken.

The chicken was dry and tasteless. Keep looking – there’s better chicken in Arlington.

Pretty decent if you are in the mood for Peruvian/Bolivian style food. They have a broad menu to choose from, which is a plus.

Had the chicken and steak sandwich and was not disappointed. Massive portions and great price. Fries were not the best, but the sauces they had on the side were pretty tasty. Service was friendly. Will definitely be going back. I would recommend this place to a friend.

The fact that this hidden gem is directly across the street from my community makes it that much better. Hole in the wall that offers a wide variety of dishes. From pupusas to salteñas to Peruvian chicken — would definitely recommend to people of all sorts to get an authentic taste of real Latin American cuisine. Fair warning — this place is really, uh, authentic, but that’s where all the best food always is! If you go make sure to order the Milanesa — breaded meat over a bed of rice and fried eggs & potatoes. My all time favorite is always the salteñas though, but I’m a little bias considering I’m of Bolivian descent. In summation: Great authentic Latino food at a cheap price. Cheers.

I had the worst experience ever at this place not only did the get my order wrong they were unwilling to fix it the staff were very unprofessional when we were try to explain how our order was wrong the woman cashier who speaks very little English was very rude she laugh and threw up her hands and walked away from us the other male worker who was there was just as worst we ended up getting our money back and leaving the establishment I will never go to this place again

For NoVa, an area lousy with pollo a la brasa joints, this is an average place except for one feature. instead of serving little cups of dipping sauce — too small and not enough of em — they have large squeeze bottles of green and white sauce for slathering purposes. Finally enough sauce! To cover the average chicken and yucca meal. JD

I only speak English. When i arrived, no one was in line ahead of me. I was not served for several minutes despite standing at the order register. Later, customers who spoke spanish and arrived several minutes after i had were served. I was never served and had to leave and get food elsewhere. English speakers are not welcome here. This establishment engages in discrimination.

I love the variety and prices!!! Service is also very good! My favorite foods are the salteñas, chicken, and soups that they serve on the weekends. I definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves Bolivian food. Also I find it very convenient that they have a drive-thru, I can easily call in my order and then pick it up without having to get out of my car.

I’d never noticed this restaurant until I was walking by and hungry. So I popped in for some take-out. The chicken was good. Well-seasoned and not dry. The yellow rice was just sort of plain. Some of the yucca was undercooked, but the pieces that were cooked were done well. The salad looked unappealing. No strawberry Fanta and the green sauce was unfortunately creamy. Service was friendly and prices are reasonable. I think it was $ 9 or so for a half chicken, which provided several meals for me. If you are just going for chicken, you’ll be fine, but I’d definitely go somewhere else if you want a whole meal.

This is a great chicken place! it is not as well known as the other Peruvian chicken chains, but this Bolivian place is worth a try. Their chicken is obviously great. I like that they have a lot of other options on the menu that are worth a try. I liked their thin steaks that are breaded and fried. You can have it as a sandwich or a meal. I also liked their empanadas. The saltanas were ok.

I’ve been here a few times, food in general is good, their salad sucks, their«saltenas» are NOT as good as LUZMILA’S in Falls Church City! Other than that their chicken is good, fast service, place is clean!

Great food, nice little getaway from work. Don’t let outward building appearances fool you, the chicken is amazing.

I’ve had Peruvian chicken at just about every Peruvian chicken joint in Arlington. I like this one for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s convenient. Right across the street from our condo. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. On nights when I drag myself home from work and don’t feel like cooking, eating out or grabbing unhealthy fast food, Las Brasas is a life-saver. Secondly, the food is very good. The chicken is always seasoned and cooked perfectly. I love the plantains and they are always the perfect mix of crispy/chewy. The salsa verde is delicious and a must. Once I eat all the flavorful skin off the chicken, I need something to jazz up the actual chicken meat. That green sauce is so good. Over the years, I’ve never had anything bad here and we’ve tried most of the menu. When I feel like dessert, the flan is always good. Oh. One thing. They could skip the«salad». I use that term loosely. It’s usually just some chunks of the gross white part of a head of iceberg lettuce that no one likes, some carrot shreads and a few kernels of corn. But it’s a nice gesture. Las Brasas is great.

This place is awesome, and usually the high point of my day. Now, this is because every time I have been here, it has been after a trip to the DMV, the Jiffy Lube, or one of the collision centers, so after being dragged across coals for hours, it’s nice to get some chicken that’s been spun around above them. The prices are definitely reasonable, and the portions are big. Las Brasas actually has the best Yucca fries of the chicken places in the surrounding area, although their sauces are a little bit more weak — the green should definitely be way more spicy. There’s plenty of crap on the walls, and they are playing soccer on the TVs at all hours(I seriously didn’t even know that many televised soccer games existed.) It has a very laid back atmosphere, and usually plenty of seating. What really set this place apart for me is that the steak here was actually good. I know right? Usually, it’s got the consistency of boiled horse knees, but somehow these guys have got it right — medium rare is actually medium rare! Recommend, will be back.

i came here bc i was getting gas, and was too tired to drive anywhere else for food. after i ate it, i utterly wished i wasnt that lazy. the chicken was dry. the green sauce was lacking in flavor. the rice was bland. and the salad was filled with wilted veggies. could it get any worse? after i was done eating, i was full but NOT satisfied at all. I wish i had just driven to super pollo where the chicken is moist and the rice is flavorful and they give you 2 sides! and for the same amount of money. save yourself the torture and just go to another peruvian chicken place.

This place doesn’t look like much on the outside and inside. It literally sits right next to a gas station and wouldn’t really think of it to have good food. I passed by it on my way in to work hundreds of times but never went in until I read the reviews from Skymiles Dining. I tried it and their food was really good! I was kind of blown of away by the juicy and flavorful rotisserie chicken. I first tried it about a month ago and have been there 4 times already for lunch! Go easy on the green sauce, it can get pretty spicy!

This review is purely for the horchata here. While waiting for our cars to get washed at David’s across the parking lot, we walked into Chicken and Steak Las Brasas to check it out. While not hungry, I almost felt the hunger pangs as soon as I smelled the delicious chicken on the spit. Parched, I ordered a large horchata. Their horchata falls into the nutty and spicy category of horchata flavors. Very refreshing and a nice change from the more common(and very delicious) «Cinnamon Toast Crunch milk at the bottom of the bowl» flavor of horchata. We will return next time we visit the nearby David’s car wash or Jiffy Lube and try eating(and drinking horchata).

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. I came here as I waited to get my oil & filter changed right down the street. I tried a chicken & steak sandwich. I liked that they asked if I wanted some non-standard toppings like green peppers and black olives on my sandwich.(Standard toppings being lettuce, onion, tomatoes). In addition to sandwiches, they have various platters, but I only tried the sandwich. It came with a white sauce that tasted a lot like Miracle Whip, and a spicy and really tasty green sauce. With and without the sauces, the sandwich was very good… also large and overflowing with ingredients. I also tried their fried plantains… they were good. There were a lot of different dishes and sides. A good selection of drinks. The staff was friendly. There is nothing special about the dining area, very average… but pretty clean. I was here on a sunday, and instead of football on their big screen TV, they had on futbol. That’s –1 star.(j/k). p. s. — $ 10 minimum on credit cards
