Giving one star is more than generous! We contacted this company on a Monday and scheduled carpet cleaning on our«new to us» home that we would be moving into on Saturday. We scheduled for Friday morning at 10:00. We were quoted a fee of $ 99 on the phone, even after my husband inquired about if there would be any additional hidden costs. So Friday morning comes and Javier calls us to see if he could come early. We explain that we cannot because we are staying at a family member’s house 45 minutes away and needed to keep the 10:00 appointment. We rush to get our 4 kids ready and to the house only for Javier to be 45 minutes late. We called at 10:25 and only then did he let us know that he was running behind. Once he arrived he explained to my husband that he would do a deep clean and that the charges would be $ 135, even though he originally quoted us a fee of $ 99. He sets about his work and finishes at 12:30. He leaves water all over our wood and concrete floors and only cleans it up after we ask him to do so. He then says he only takes cash or check and it’s $ 150 with tax. The side of his cleaning van said he cleans an entire 2 story house for $ 135 and we only had him clean 3 bedrooms and stairs. And tax would have only been $ 11, not an additional $ 15. I was so frustrated that AGAIN the price changed, but the carpets were clean and we were moving in the next day so I had limited options. We left the house with the A/C running and fans blowing. You can imagine my shock when we arrive at 8:30 the next morning with 2 huge moving trucks and a dozen people to help us move in only to find that the carpets are STILLWET! After almost 24 hours! I have never, ever had carpets not dry after a couple of hours of cleaning them. We were forced to pile all our stuff in 2 rooms and the garage even though we had people ready and willing to get us all moved in. Our house is a split level so when you enter, you either go up or down stairs and the stairs were still wet and we had no way to avoid trudging over them 100 times as we moved stuff in. You can imagine how wet carpeted stairs will look after such a thing. Disgusting! I immediately called the company to ask for someone to come out with fans to get the carpets dry, still not understanding why they were still wet in the first place. When I explained our dilemma, the only thing Javier would say is to turn on the fans and open the windows. That was his solution. He was too busy to come out or to send someone out until the very end of the day. So around 5pm Javier shows up with one fan. ONEFAN! I couldn’t believe it. I told him at this point I just wanted my money back because I was going to have to call another company out to re-clean the carpets again. All he would say is that the carpets were clean when he left. He said this over and over again. Yes, they were clean but they were still wet more than 24 hours later at this point which was unacceptable. And now they were worse than they were to begin with. He refused to give me my money back and was rude and argumentative. So if you want clean WET carpet, then this is the guy to call. If not, look somewhere else!

Javier showed up as promised and even gave a courtesy call to verify appointment. What we wanted was the special you had advertised on the flyer for«$ 135.00+ tax for an ENTIRETWOSTORYDEEPCLEAN and Deordorize INCLUDESSTAIRS». What we got when he arrived was a price increase to $ 245.00 for deep carpet cleaning and this was not for the ENTIRE House! I had an office area above my master bedroom and told him that it didn’t need to be cleaned. When he looked at te rest of the areas, he quoted me a price of $ 245.00. I aske him what would the price be for the Office above my master bedroom and he told me he could and will do it for another $ 20.00 and won’t charge me tax if I did do the office. So this brought my total up to $ 265.00 with tax included(or not included since he wasn’t gonna charge me tax, which ever you decide to look at it). When my girlfriend called to set up an appointment, she was told they accept cash, or check. Javier told me that if I paid cash, it would be $ 265.00, but if I paid with a check then he would have to charge me tax. What kind of business is that??? I didn’t have the cash on me, naturally. Typically Check, credit card and limited cash is what most people carry now a days. So I had to go to the bank to get the cash out. This business is not what it seems to be and I will be spreading the word around my neighborhood how burgess carpet cleaning handles their business. I will also be advertising on the internet how this business really conducts their business, along with the BBB, and my everyone that I can and will speak to. It’s pretty sad how you advertise one thing, but charge something completely different even using your customers resources, i.e. Water, electricity which you left everything on. I was pretty upset and almost ready to kick him out of my house! I know why they prefer cash over a check, so it’s all money«UNDERTHETABLE» and don’t have to count it as income especially since tomorrow is Memorial Day. Need the cash to go shopping, or to do things. If I would’ve looked into this web site, I wouldn’t have used your service! ***HINT*** Your business is advertised in Arlington, TX. WEAREINCST Not PST! If you couldn’t get that right, then it should’ve warned me as to the type of business you conduct. PST = Pacific Standard Time(west coast) CST = Central Standard Time(mid states, Texas) I gave a 2 star rating for their service and courtesy call to verify appointment schedule. Although I did get jacked around on the prices as mentioned above their service was decent. When they left, I did not realize the chemicals they used were mostly of a vinegar base and I noticed only wen I walked barefooted on the carpet and after being gone from the house for several hours. When we came back, you could definitely smell the odor that the carpet cleaning chemicals left behind. Javier said he was the best cleaning company and he is the cheapest because he doesn’t have overhead to cover. He is by far not the best and I would record him and Burgess only as a last resort! I have even asked for a MSDS and still have not received a copy.
