This is a cute spot. It reminds me of an authentic mom and pop restaurant in Philly. I do like to patronize places like this, but I’ve never been that impressed by BBF’s sandwiches or the salad that I once had. I’ve lived in this area for a while and I’ve gone about four times in the past two-three years and it’s only when someone else wants to go. I really enjoyed my bagel once and that was it. Everyone else likes it but I really think it’s because it’s a neighborhood fixture. I went this past Sunday and bought four bagels– 2 whole wheat with turkey BACON, egg WHITE and cheese and 2 plain with sausage, egg, and cheese. I got 2 whole wheat with turkey deli meat, egg, and cheese. No egg white, no bacon like I asked for :-/. I didn’t check until I got home. In addition to that, I was shorted $ 5. I will admit that I didn’t count my change, I just threw it in my purse. I noticed about 15 minutes later and called the restaurant. The guy reluctantly told me to come back and get it which I appreciated. He did reprimand me for not counting it which I found amusing. I almost told him that I don’t think mistakes like that should be made in an establishment that only accepts cash but I bit my tongue since he offered to give it to me without too much hassle and because I didn’t count it. I didn’t feel like going back though. I figured if it wasn’t an accident, the chick must’ve really needed it. I get the feeling that a lot of people don’t count their change so short change«mistakes» may be more common than you think here.

Great food! I’d give 5 stars if they had a food truck.

FYI — THEYONLYACCEPTCASH! I don’t usually carry much cash on me, but today I just so happened to have some. I am a loyal Bruegger’s fan(even though the best location is in Blacksburg, VA). I’m a regular and stick to my Sriracha Egg Sandwich on an Everything Bagel every time. Today, I switched it up and went to Brooklyn Bagel — not bad! Definitely a solid, good breakfast sandwich AND I can walk to it from work. Perfect for those early mornings in the office after a night of drinking. Glad I discovered this place. While they didn’t have sriracha in the store(Tabasco just isn’t the same on a bagel sandwich to me), I really enjoyed my egg, cheese, and turkey bacon on an everything bagel. The service was quick and great. The guys there were pretty accommodating to my hot sauce needs. My bagel was warm, fresh and very cheap(I think I paid around $ 6, including a drink). I’ll definitely be coming here more often!

Finally! I am a bagel lover and it really is hard to get a good bagel around here. Brooklyn bagel does it right! The only place that I think compares is Main Street Bagel in Fairfax. I’m a lox lover and the bagel with lox spread or bagel lox sandwich are both excellent picks. I recently got a deli sandwich too and was very impressed. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because this place is CASHONLY. I’m okay with cash only spots– but they should make it much more obvious before you get to pay. That should be plastered on the menu boards and where you order so you don’t find yourself embarrassed when you get to the register(which also doesn’t have a cash only sign that I’ve found).

Want a perfect bagel this is the place. They have a variety of bagels and sandwiches, they also have salads which are just as great as the bagels. They have organic foods they have gluten free in other words this place has everything for everyone. The staff is friendly the owner is freaking awesome and funny he truly cares for his customers. Come on in and enjoy the back in the day décor and the MUSIC!!! Of course the awesome food

I haven’t eaten here too many times, but when I have, the food has been great! Particularly, I’m telling about the deli sandwiches. Pilled high and fresh! I honestly couldn’t believe how much bacon was on my triple decker. It was delicious. If you’re looking for a quick, cheap, full tastily filling meal, this is the lunch spot for you. Be warned tho, as they are cash only(my only real gripe).

Really yummy bagels! You can tell by how packed it is on weekends! The only annoying thing about it is that its cash only.

After returning once after my first review, the staff was a little friendlier. I really want to give this place more stars since the food is pretty good, but the shady cash-only policy and high prices are too much of a turn-off.

Unlike other posters, I’m not a huge fan of the bagels. They’re ok, but nothing like the H & H bagels Calvert Woodley imports from NYC. I have found the lox portion to be skimpy to the point I wondered if they forgot it. No, but it was barely noticeable. Now if I want smoked fish on a bagel, I get the fish from TJ’s and the bagels, cc, and toppings here. Quick, cheap, casual. Some of my favorite words. The $ 6 lunch special is all of them. Two slices of pizza and a drink. I haven’t been to Wise Guys, but this is as good or better than what I’ve had by the slice in R-B corridor. The crust was crispy, but firm enough to eat it like a New Yorker — folded in on itself. Tasty, and greasy in a good way. I was hungry when I went in and didn’t eat all of it. One slice was big, the other very big. If you’re in the area and want something fast and filling and cheap, this is a good place.

I am not a New Yorker and can’t say I have that self proclaimed title of knowing what qualifies a good bagel. But, I thought the bagels here were delicious. Breakfast Bagel(bacon, egg, and cheese): the bagel was soft and still chewy and cooked perfectly. No signs of burnt marks on the bacon or bagel which sometimes occurs with breakfast bagels. If you like crispy bacon you’ll really enjoy this. The entire bagel was evenly proportioned and each bite had the right mix of everything. Great start to the morning. Pretty filling. I was in the mood to find some sort of bagel shop with a good bacon, egg, and cheese and for me this definitely hit the spot. Worth trying for sure! Cash only if you haven’t heard already.

Being from New York myself, I pride myself in knowing a good bagel… or at least I’d like to think so, haha. Brooklyn Bagel is one of those great casual places that brings back that New York feel for me. You shout your order, you pay in cash only(lol), but the best part of all is that the bagels are amazing! I come for the sun dried tomato bagel with butter, but the selection is honestly endless. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!

Yum. Living down the block from this place is dangerous. Their french toast bagel is out of this world, and I really enjoy their chicken salad on a wheat bagel for lunch. The line can be very long, but the staff is good about being efficient and keeping the line moving. This place is cash only, so make sure to have some with you!

NY Lox with red onion, tomato and capers on sesame Bagel is just amazing, bursting of flavors. Nice add of capers! But I’m not crazy about the orange juice. Will def go back for lunch and take friends there.

OMG!!! Makes me want to live on the East Coast. My love took me here the other morning and I was amazed by how delicious everything was. Great customer service. I got the Lox Bagel Sandwich on a Whole Wheat Everything Bagel. I have never had bagels that good. So chewy and tasty! Loved every bite. We also got Fresh OJ. I gave the guy shit when I was buying it because lots of times places say Fresh OJ and you pay all this money and it TOTALLYISN’T FRESH… BUT this place has the good shit and it is only $ 2.50. We also got a pastry. My boyfriend loves sweets and so he told me I had to try this and I am glad I did. It was like a pound cake with a fruity filling and powdered sugar. Good Stuff! Caution!!! They only take cash. They have and ATM there but the fees are really high so bring cash!

Pro-tip: this place practically never closes — bagels galore for snowpocalypse this weekend! Bacon Egg and Cheese on Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel is amazing and they serve La Colombe coffee!

I know there are a lot of people from the north east in the Arlington area and one of the biggest gripes/requests I hear from them is a desperate quest for a good New York style bagel. As someone who grew up in the northern Virginia area I actually don’t know that I prefer a New York bagel to a non authentic Einsteins bagel or such, but I can appreciate the difference. If you’re looking for a New York style bagel or just a delicious bagel sandwich, then look no further. This place is a favorite morning after spot of mine for meeting friends or simple enjoying a sandwich, coffee and a book. The biggest downside to this place is that they only take cash.

Wow, I love how this place gets slammed for being cash only(the long lines suggest they’re not hurting for business). The excessive burden of keeping a 20 in your wallet has got to be the most first-world problem ever. You really have to judge this place for what it is — a bagel shop in a city with no bagel culture and where Bruegger’s is the benchmark. Against that, it’s about as good as you’ll get.

Only legit bagels in NOVA that fit your New York bagel cravings. Make sure you have CASH as that’s all they take. If you’re driving there for the first time, it can be hard to get to bc it’s by a confusing intersection and on a one way street. Parking is very limited in front of the shop. Once inside, lines are long but move very quickly because there are plenty of team members and they work quickly. If you just want beverages or cream cheese to go, avoid the long line as there is an express checkout just for you to the right.

This place is a community fixture, if you go on a weekend morning, you can expect long quick moving lines, limited seating and the fast pace feel of a busy NY style deli. I got the bagel sandwich with egg, cheese, and bacon on sundried tomato bagel, Aubs got tomato and cream cheese on a whole wheat bagel. The egg was a generous size, the cheese was a kraft single equivalent and the bacon was plentiful enough that it appeared in every bite. I’ve gotten this before and I would get it again. Aubs enjoyed her sandwich as well, the portions were adequate, the bagel was not as soft as she would have liked. Bottom line, this place delivered and met our exceptions, no wow factor but a good experience none the less.

Best bagel joint in NoVA. Stopped by on a beautiful weekend morning to grab some breakfast. I think all of Arlington had the same idea! Line was out the door and it was cray on the inside. Stood in line and snaked around until I could yell my order at one of the guys behind the counter. NY lox on everything bagel, of course. Everything bagel had good flavor and was closest to a NY bagel I’ve had in DC. Lox definitely hit the spot! Grabbed some of the fresh squeezed OJ as well. Fo sho they squeezed some sweet oranges! FYI: CASHONLY. There is a Bank of America ATM around the corner and also an ATM in the shop that you can use while in line.
