The omelette’ are thin like a crape. Not fluffy. To much ham. Very salty. Chicken fried steak was good. Hash browns greasy coffee was very strong.

This was a interesting little café. It appeared to have multi generations of a family working there which I think is great. The burger was nothing special but was good, the peanut butter shake was amazing. Only bad experience here is the locals seem a little less then welcoming, we ended up catching a lot of stares. Good place you should try it

I have been going to blue bird since i was a kid but i will never go again after having a horrible waitress. She was extremely rude to me and my friends and we wont be going back. Asking for more cream for our coffee was like pulling teeth.

The meal was okay. The sausage was too graesy and the toast was off and it wasn’t good. My water cup was filthy on the inside running into the water. My whole family was sick. They’re silverware isn’t very clean either. They’re a nice vintage place but I don’t recommend.

If you’re expecting anything other than a greasy spoon you’ll be disappointed. That being said, it’s a good one. Fast service and good portions. Prices are decent. One of our favorite local breakfast places.

The food here is amazing. Pay no mind to negative reviews, my parents started taking me here as far back as I can remember, it was their favorite breakfast place after church, and now I’m happy to be taking my kids here. I love the small homey diner. Everyone is very sweet and they seem to treat their regulars like family I’ve noticed. I recommend any breakfast item, love the taco omelette, and the traditional hash browns, bacon, eggs, toast and coffee. My kids love the pancakes, HUGE delicious cinnamon rolls and hot cocoa with the heavy whip on top. It’s a nice balance of older couples, families with small kids, and our local bikers :) as my husband enjoys, he’s one of em! It’s our first pick for a breakfast date. Waitresses stay on top of keeping coffee full and I’ve never had one with«the attitude» like you see so often these days. Only constructive criticism I could offer is, with the seating being first come, first serve. And many times on mornings it can be so busy walk-ins even snag the dirty tables people just get up from… Waitresses please if you see people standing in the doorway hoping to get in and you can see an open table in the back, give a holler so those people know and don’t think it’s full and walk out! :) if your wanting a cozy diner experience with good food that comes pretty quick, then go here for your new breakfast or lunch tradition.

I used to love this place. I’m not sure if it recently changed owners or they got new staff, but this was my last visit to the bluebird. The staff was far too busy chatting amongst themselves to remember part of our order. We had to as 3 times before my husband was served is iced tea, drinks went empty for at least 10 – 15 minutes even after trying to get their attention several times. Our sever actually walked right past us, looked at me w/my empty glass in hand and kept walking. Some of the prices are crazy. They charged me 0.50 for 1 small slice of tomato on my fish sandwich. I don’t mind paying for an add on, but you can get a whole tomato for the price I was charged. Food is fair, but not for the price. 13.00 for a few bits of fish and fries is ridiculous. My family eats out quite a bit, and the Bluebird could have made a lot of money off of us. Sorry, We’ll be taking our money where our drinks don’t go ignored and you get your monies worth.

Friendly service but the food is processed frozen. I would go for an omlette as your best option for fresh

For breakfast The Blue Bird Café gets 5 stars easily! The blueberry pancakes are super good! The employees are very friendly and I noticed that the earlier you go the more entertaining the environment is. Dinner on the other hand is a different story. The food was not very good and it all seemed to be frozen/prepackaged/store bought. Very disappointing. The employees were still very nice.

The Blue Bird serves up a great atmosphere with friendly service! TL:DR They’re awesome. Get the blueberry pancakes. I am a fan of the typical«American» breakfast with eggs, bacon, and pancakes and the Blue Bird does not disappoint! We always stop in here Saturday morning on the way to our cabin and the staff is so friendly! We are usually greeted by name! It’s a seat yourself atmosphere followed promptly by water and silverware and then another beverage of your choice if you so desire. The kitchen is pretty quick as well! Treat yourself to some blueberry pancakes! Before you presume to think that little tub of butter that was delivered won’t cut it, believe me, it’s plenty. The cakes are moist enough with all those blueberries in there, the butter is for flavor if you choose; as is the maple syrup! Definitely a place that I would recommend to my friends and family alike! Be careful if you are coming in around 8:30−10AM on the weekends, they get busy. Probably those darn blueberry pancakes!

The staff is friendly, the interior is dated, the food is O-K. My mainstay when I do go, which isn’t often any more, is the blueberry pancakes. I’ve not really tried much else. I used to love it, but every time I left, my clothes stunk of old greasy diner… It just wasn’t worth it…

Service was fine. The interior was dark and dirty looking. The food was pretty gross. I’ll add a picture of the chicken fried steak my husband got and then you can see for yourself. I got the BLT and it was not bad but you can’t really mess up a BLT.

Not happy with my second time coming to this restaurant, I ordered bacon cheese burger, had to pay for the French fries separate, the hamburger was like a baby burger, the cheese was over cooked, payed $ 7.75 my mom had oysters she said the oysters was over cooked, she got bread puddle, wasn’t good. I can go to Burger King, get a big hamburger, fries and a drink. For the same price !! We won’t be going back.

I would give this place 3 and a half stars actually if I could! It’s a nice little local café in downtown Arlington. Very small town feel. The food is pretty yummy and prices are great. Service is decent. The interior is ok, but small and could use a few updates. But other than that… I was happy with it!

So many three and four star reviews from visitors to the Bluebird Café who only had good things to say?! C’mon, people! My experience there was everything I could’ve hoped for from a small town restaurant. I suppose the décor leaves a little bit to be desired, but my club sandwich and clam chowder were better than I expected they would be(quite delicious) and reasonably priced. And it’s not as if I was there expecting to have my culinary mind blown.. . The best part was how quickly our food came. I’ve waited longer at fast food restaurants. Seriously, less than five minutes. Nothing about my experience at bluebird was anything less than wonderful, so I won’t hesitate to give them five stars. Sure, it wasn’t the MOST incredible dining experience I’ve ever had, but the food was served hot, fresh, fast, affordable, and tasty. What more could you ask for from a diner in Arlington, Washington?

Good solid breakfast. My hubby enjoyed the sausage and gravy. The gravy was tasty. Service was great and the food came out hot.

On an excursion to explore Arlington I stopped here and had a bacon cheeseburger and fries; it was uneventful. Blue Bird Café seemed like a great small town diner, but the burger & fries were surprisingly expensive considering the size of burger and quality of fries. To me, part of the charm of small town diners is the small price so I probably won’t be back to the Blue Bird Café for lunch. However, if I’m in Arlington at breakfast time, I will try the Blue Bird’s breakfast — there were lots of old people in this diner which usually indicates good breakfast is served :-)

This place is a must if you decide to make a pit-stop in the tiny downtown of Arlington. Despite the obvious reasons to feel inclined, I seriously cannot hate on this place. I seriously feel like judging right now, but alas, I cannot. Let’s love its quirkiness for all it’s worth. By far the most cordial people of all the cafes the beau and I dined during our trip to this part of Washington. Our waitress was super friendly and timely, the food was tasty, hot and super inexpensive. My cheeseburger deluxe with fries was $ 5! Much cheaper than any diner or hell, even McDonalds. MY bf enjoyed his ham and cheese omelette with hashbrowns and even said it was better quality than most.

Have only eaten breakfast here — the Blue Bird hands down has the best hashbrowns in Arlington. The hubby loves their blueberry pancakes and never gets anything else. Great service… food always arrives HOT.
